First of all sorry for my English i am French and ain't used to type in English.

Second this is my way of playing that bad-*** hero for me he ain't at all a tank but likely a caster and support.

At last if you don't like what you reading you should just leave.

Runes

This is my build great for lanning with a CC teammate

Greater Mark Of Insight X9 magic penetration a must have

Greater Seal of Clarity X9 MP5/per lvl mainly because i prefer per lvl and really help late game but the other one that give lots of mp5 from start good too

Greater Glyph of Celerity X9 Cd reduction per lvl coz u a bomber tree remember u gonna harass ppl with bomb

Greater Quintessence of Vitality X3 Hp/lvl because u a bit squishy and u gonna kamikaze sometimes for team fight.

Masteries

I made my tree 9/0/21 because the tree is a big mana user

utility:

Help you kill or escape
Regen always good

More mana more bomb to spam and good for ulti
Mana regen :D because tree like mana
longuer buff always welcome and really help out the tree mainly the blue one
i think it helps everyone
make the tree run a little bit faster
CD reduction must have
you need clarity to come back faster because it's the only way for you to be a great harasser.

i think its great because you take the best of maokai need cd reduction, regen fast, move faster and upgrade 2 summoner spell that u cant go without.

extra crit
CD reduction :D
Hit more harder


AP per lvl, CD reduc, magic pen :D

clarity and ghost must have.

Items

i always start with doran ring because its give lots of useful thing for maokai hp, ap and mana regen

then i go boots =) if i can go sorcerer

else i buy little shoes with a book to next buy my sorcerer boots and my shen. SHEN is a great item for Tree coz he gonna hit harder.

when i have sorcerer boots and shen i start build my trinity force because i think it s a good choice move faster and slow + shen ability

then rylaj scepter coz you gonna catch them and no matter what dont let them go

then banshee coz banshee must have for suvability

then at last sell doran ring then build sorcerer HAT and zhonian hourglass :D

now you got a nice blowing tree!!!

Skill Sequence

first skill to max is the pikmin bomb when u start u gonna learn the art of aiming you should normally be good with clarity on the go

*tip: trow it behind ennemy most of player will run away and eat it =)

then twisted advanve to max, arcane smash and pu everytime u can a point in ulti that should do it

so first go

if u can before engaging use ulti then:

sapling toss>twited advance>arcane smash>ulti

Summoner Spells

clarity coz he big mana sucker
ghost coz it can save ur *** and can help u kil

Team Work

maokai is a great harass hero for me he aint made for tanking but support ppl and catch player that run away

so my way of plaing it

lane with a hero that can CC

whenever u can trow ur pikmin just watch mana dont waste it

when your teamate CC use twisted advance and crush that guy too

when you see teamfight dont engage let tank do it just stay near help him with ulti trow bomb and catch runner or focus squishi ennemy ^^ better choice i think

u can hide in bushes trow bomb safely or run in
