I really like the direction, the only downside to this build is that this makes him a really thirsty way to play... Then again I might be overly aggressive with him. |

You have a pretty good build here. I don't agree with everything here but this is definitely a good place for ppl new to maokai to start. Personally I like getting AA staff most of he time along with some cd. Spam his abilities with 1-3 sec cooldown XD. I used a build very similar to his when I first started using Mao and still do when I need to go really tanky. This should be an upvote but I'm on my iPod so it may have clicked he wrong button "The reward for work well done is more work."

Hey filthy Treebeard! I use him exactly like you... Same masteries, summoner spells, skill order - they are the most useful. But I tend to go rather tanky then AP. Runes: HP and MR. The reason why I don't like to start with Doran's Ring is that he doesn't do this much on lvl1 anyways beside warding. So I take Mana Saphire, followed by Catalyst and Boots of Swiftness. Rod of Ages, Sunfire Cape, Banshee's Veil, Force of Nature and Rylai's Crystal Scepter ;) They all share being tanky and doing some damage :) Beside Banshee's. There might be room for similar items. Well, I wanted do a guide by myself, but since you have stated Maokai's opportunities this well, I simply agree with you and vote +1 ;) :: zocking ::

Wonderful build. Using it with some slight modifications based on enemy team comp I can hardly die (all melee AD with 2 warmogs + Frozen Heart + Guardian Angle with some AP items = maximum trolling. |

Yeah I would say this build is pretty good. First time trying it and i went 14-2-13. They surrendered at 30ish. |

This is the most amazing build on Maokai i have ever seen. I went 7/4/18 in 20 minutes and made enemy team surrender. Everyone on my team had around 5 assists, 12 kills, and 3 deaths because i was KSed beyond imagination; however i mind not the kill stealing. I duo'd Baron with Twitch ; this setup allowed me to pop my ulti and cast spells so much that at lvl 14 i did this with a breeze and remained with not only 75% mana (clarity used prior) but with full health. Even picked up a kill along the way.  |
