Introduction

Hey guys! My name for League of Legends is Lificious and this is my first MOBAfire guide introducing Master Yi, the Wuju Bladesman. I think Master Yi is a very aggressive champion in the game because his damage is very high when Wuju Style is activated. Master Yi can jungle but I don't like jungling so I stick to laning. I hope you guys enjoy my guide. (I'm new here!)

Pros / Cons

Pros:
    Easy to learn
    Does huge damage if fed.
    He can take a little advantage into a giant advantage quickly.
    Can be built AP or AD.
    Can jungle or lane.

Cons:
    Easy to counter (Exhaust).
    Weak early game makes getting fed hard to do.
    Lacks any form of CC.

Runes

For my Marks, I grab 9 greater mark of desolation.

For my Seals, I grab 9 Greater Seal of Attack Speed.

For my Glyphs, I grab 9 Greater Glyph of Attack Damage.

For my Quintessences, I grab 9 Greater Quintessence of Health.

I take greater mark of desolation because of the armor penetration. The armor penetration is really what you need if you want to DOMINATE.

I take Greater Seal of Attack Speed because attack speed is efficient with Master Yi. With his damage and attack speed including armor penetration, he can burst a squishy carry like Ashe.

I take Greater Glyph of Attack Damage because...power is...good. Master Yi needs attack damage to kill, right? With the help of greater mark of desolation, he can deal more damage.

I take Greater Quintessence of Health because Master Yi is very squishy. If you want to survive crowd control like Amumu's ultimate, Curse of the Sad Mummy, you'll need a decent amount of health.

Masteries

LOVE playing aggressively with Master Yi. I would go for 9/0/21, but that's not fun.

I put one point on Greed because it gives me 1 additional gold in 20 seconds, but I don't know, it's worth it because... where else to put the extra mastery point?

I don't have any in DEFENSE because I play Master Yi AGGRESSIVELY.

Items

Item Sequence

Berserker's Greaves 1100

I start off with a Doran's Blade, costing you 475 gold. (You start the game with 475 but it's worth it in my opinion). The Doran's Blade grants you 10 attack damage, 80 health, and 3% life steal. With Wuju Style as your first skill, you have a pretty good advantage against your laning opponent.

I go for my Boots then upgrading that into a Berserker's Greaves. This will give you a attack speed bonus and you'll have some movement speed now. So if you are chasing down an enemy for a kill, you will probably keep up and grab the kill, unless your opponent grabs a Boots of Swiftness or a Mobility Boots.

I rush an Infinity Edge after my Berserker's Greaves.WHAT THE HELL, RIGHT? But hey look, if you know how to last hit properly, then you'll get Infinity Edge quite quickly. Infinity Edge will boost your attack damage. With the help of Wuju Style and Highlander, you will destroy Soraka or whoever is a squishy champion.

Phantom Dancer is pretty much a priority item for Master Yi. Everyone who plays Master Yi probably gets a Phantom Dancer. Well, they should, because Phantom Dancer is a BIG boost in attack speed. With Infinity Edge combined with Phantom Dancer, you are pretty much overpowered. But I don't know, I might be wrong!

Okay, you don't see much Entropy's out there because Frozen Mallet is still better. I tend to grab Entropy because of the DAMAGE. With your attack speed and damage, I don't think you'll need Frozen Mallet. You can still slow the enemy down with Entropy, I know it's only 25% chance to slow on hit, but your attack speed is great so you'll pretty much have a big chance of slowing them down. Health bonus!

Ionic Spark...you probably don't see that item much either. But I personally like it because every fourth attack will deal 110 magic attack up to 4 targets! Perfect for last hitting minions! There is a 50% attack speed bonus and a health bonus! I mean, Master Yi is awfully squishy as well.

Sell your Doran's Blade, I mean, what's so good about in really late game? So sell that, and grab Bloodthirster. It gives you some attack damage and 12% life steal. It's unique passive has stacks too. Every kill grants you an extra 1 attack damage and 0.2% life steal. It's worth it, I believe!

I go for my Wuju Style first because of my Doran's Blade. I max my Wuju Style by mid game (Level 12) and then I max my Alpha Strike by mid game also. My level up my Highlander in levels, 6, 11 and 16.

You'll need Highlander to gank and escape so it's a pretty good skill. It is Master Yi's ultimate anyway.

I max Meditate last but level it up in level 3 because Doran's BladeDOES NOT make you tanky in early game, you are still squishy.

Alpha Strike eats up ALOT of your mana so use Alpha Strike CAREFULLY, and use it EFFICIENTLY.

Summoner Spells

For my summoner spells, I use Flash and Ghost.


I use Flash because when you are cornered by the enemy team, you can flash out or flash through a wall and they will (if they are smart), stop chasing you.


I use Ghost because once I destroy a turret, (I usually backdoor), the enemy team comes after me, so I Ghost out of there and go for another turret.

<--- Cleanse works with Master Yi because he can get stunned, snared, suppressed etc., quite easily.

<--- I don't use Ignite very much with Master Yi because when you are attacking, you are up in his face. I don't think they can outrun you, unless it's an enemy Master Yi you are fighting against.

<--- Only use Smite when jungling, Smite is not a good summoner spell for laning with Master Yi.

<--- Like surprise ganking? Use Teleport as one of your summoner spells. Teleport is good for getting turrets and killing enemy minion waves.

Well, thanks for reading my first MOBAfire guide for League of Legends and my first guide for Master Yi. I play Master Yi at times because I'm on a quest to buy Viktor and once I buy Viktor, I will try to get a nice build for you guys for Viktor and hopefully you guys will play Viktor also.
