Master Yi Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello. This is my first guide, so bare with it... It's not going to be too detailed, I'm going to give you what you need to know, and you make the build your own. I'll tell you how I play, and how I use Master Yi. It's not often I lose with him, and most of my games only last about 20 minutes when using this build on Yi. Hope it works as well for you as it does for me.
How to use it.
It's fairly simple, really. You're going to start slow, unless you can manage a good team gank and get your extra gold for the 'zerk boots right away. Major plus. Yi can carry, quite easily if you know how to play him. I'll say the only thing I feel like you really need to know is ulti, and wuju. Use them both, a lot. As much as you can. Stacking them will shred a tank, drop a squishy faster than Evelynn, and stacking them repeatedly in a gank can save you from feeding. I jumped in to a 3v1 one night, all of us level 18. I stacked wuju and ulti, used alpha strike as much as I could, but focused my physicals on one character. I came out on top, got a triple kill and went on to finish off their inhib. If you play Yi right, he can be the deciding factor in a game.
Alpha Strike is your best friend when you're farming, or in a gank. Use it to escape, jump on minions or jump to their furthest Champion. Do not be afraid of dying. It happens, just don't feed. I once started a game with 3 deaths and 2 assists. By the end of the game, I had 17 kills, 5 deaths, and a boatload of assists. For a 3v3, I think I did fairly well! None the less, use Yi as you please. The build I specified above is what I consider a drain-tank build. Imagine taking Fiddle's drain and multiplying it. Do what you will with the guide, use it or not - make it your own, or use it to a T. With my experience, it works. People don't take Yi seriously enough until he's fed, and then it's simply too late. I hope it works for everyone as well as it does for me. Good day, and good luck. :)
