Welcome to my master Yi guide, Now im new to Lol and this is only my second attempt at making a build online. So please give possitive feedback as id love to improve my YI. However saying that , this build has worked wonders for me.
My Play Style
I play YI alot as a ganker and turret slayer. I will try get kills early in the game and once im a few kills ahead of others its pretty much Good Game. I also use YI for backdooring and pushing lanes extreamly well. Hence my choice of ghost in the masterys.

Pros and Cons
+Very fast speed , works well with lifesteal
+Great at chasing champs
+Great at backdooring / Turret killing
+Easily able to escape a gank

Passive: Double Strike
This skill makes Master Yi attack twice every 7th hit. Once you get good with Yi your be able to time it so your attack will open with a doublestrike for a nice fast damage hit.
A nice tactic with this passive is to get it to 6 hits , then Alpha Strike to your target for a fast double damage blow. Also using Wuju Style adds to this damage.
Master Yi leaps across the battlefield with blinding speed, dealing magic damage to multiple units in his path with a chance to deal bonus magic damage to minions.
Master Yi leaps across the battlefield striking up to 4 enemies, dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+1 per ability power) magic damage to each enemy with a 20/30/40/50/60% chance to deal 400 bonus magic damage to minions.
Cooldown - 18/16/14/12/10 seconds
Cost - 80/90/100/110/120 Mana
Range - 600
This skill is always my first skill to take. This can be used to harras players early game. Also if you have a kill in sight but they are just out of range it can garentee you a kill. This can also be used to escape a battle but dont rely on this as your ownly escape due to it being completly relient on the mobs of minions.
Remember when using this skill (expeshaly early game) that you target minions close to your turret instead of the champion at the back of the mob. As you will end your alpha strike on the first target hit. (meaning you would end up behind the champ and infront of thier turret).
Meditate- Master Yi rejuvinates his body by focus of mind, restoring health and increasing his armor and magic resistance for a short time.
Master Yi channels, restoring 140/280/420/560/700 (+1.65 per ability power) health over 5 seconds. While channeling, Master Yi gains 100/150/200/250/300 armor and magic resistance.
Cooldown - 35 seconds
Cost - 70/85/100/115/130 Mana
Range - Self
This is always my last skill to max, It can however be very usefull in many situations. For example if you escape Twitch or Temo with low health. You have poisin on you "OMG NO IM DEAD" - Wrong fool ! use Meditate to counter the damage over time from the poisin.
Also other ways this is usefull - Karthas is about to unleash his ultimate. If your fast+lucky you can meditate and survive the ultimate.
Also just generaly good for holding a lane longer.
Wuju Style - Master Yi becomes skilled in the art of Wuju, passively increasing the power of his physical attacks. Activating Wuju Style doubles the passive bonus damage for a short time, but the passive bonus is temporarily removed after the effect wears off.
Passive: Increases physical damage by 15/20/25/30/35.
Active: Master Yi can activate this ability to double its effectiveness for 10 seconds, but this removes the passive bonus until Wuju Style becomes available again.
Cooldown - 25 seconds
Cost - 40 Mana
Range - Self
This is your main ability to max. The massive boost in damage means your going to demolish other players. I normaly Alpha strike to thier possision. Hit this move , then hit my ultimate. Kill them with my ultimate then laugh as my ultimate has now had its cooldown refreshed. Very important early game. Use this together with exhaust and alphastrike for an easy kill :P
Highlander - Master Yi moves with unparalleled agility, temporarily increasing Master Yi's movement and attack speeds as well as making him immune to all slowing effects. Additionally, killing a Champion refreshes all of Master Yi's cooldowns.
Increases Master Yi's movement speed by 40% and Attack Speed by 40/60/80%, and he becomes immune to all slowing effects for 6/9/12 seconds. Additionally, killing a champion refreshes all of Master Yi's cooldowns, and scoring an assist reduce the cooldowns by half.
Cooldown - 75 seconds
Cost - 120/120/120 Mana
Range - Self
This is possibly one of the best ultimates in game. The way in wich this ultimate can be used is great. This skill makes you pretty much able to 1v1 anyone once your builds complete. Quite often I will Alpha strike into a group of 3+ players and kill them all using Wuji+Ultimate. Then heal on the minions and continue the turret push.
Ways in wich you should use this ultimate.
1) Alphastrike>Wuju>Ultimate when attacking a player or group of players. Remember although you can deal enough damage to kill them all late game. If they focus on you like they should your going to die fast as lack of defence+HP. Play smart , run out when a battle is already happening.
2) Push minnions in an empty lane , your kill the minions in seconds. Then use the jungle to mask your movement as you follow the minions up the lane. When you get to the turret attack the turret and asoon as you see the enemies coming use your ultimate to increase your speed and escape. This will also free you from slows. If all else fails , use ghost+Alpha strike to flee.
3)Whats that Master Yi ? Youve been slowed and are about to get ganked. Good think youve got Highlander ready. "Byyyyyeee Red Team" as you run away.
Runes and why I choose them.
Greater Marks of Desolation
Ok armor penitration is vital. You want every hit you do to cause maximum damage. The fact that when your a low level with no rune slots and play Yi. Then get max rune slots filled with Tier3 runes you will really notice the diffrence armor pen makes. 100% vital for Yi builds in my opinion.
Greater Seals of Malice
Ok , A lot of Yi builds seem to have dodge. I personaly dont feel the need for it. Granted Dodge is good and will stop you getting cut down so fast. However I just feel that taking Critical Chance runes are more valuable. The reason for this is you will end up dishing out so much damage with crit chance + crit damage that you can literaly kill people before your low on health. What goods dodge when everyone dies in seconds? Ontop of that the lifesteal you gain from my build will keep you alive in longer battles.
Greater Glyph of Furor
I take Critical hit damage for these slots. Reasons pretty simple. Combined with critical hit , and how fast your be attacking it just seems to work wonders.
Greater Quintessence of Desolation
I suggest Armor pen here , you have enough crits and more armor penetration is always nice.
Attack speed and dodge are both good choices. I feel my rune setup is the best choice however everyone has thier own personal play style.
Playstyle tips and how to play YI
Ok early game I buy boots of speed and health potions. The extra movement speed is always my priority as I try to get kills right away and sometimes need to turn and escape to the turret.
I will always try to lane with a range champ , so I dont get starved of minions If i end up stuck in a lane with 2 rangers hitting me.
Farm minions and use alpha strike to harras enemies who get close (use it on the minions and it will hit champions near). Always try to save enough mana for one last alpha strike incase a kill opertunity comes up.
Ok so now your level 2 , youve got Alpha Strike + Wuju
Now good comunication with your lane partner is vital. Focus one of your targets , then both of you hit the champion. Use your exhaust + Alpha strike + Wuju Style = Dead.
Now if your lucky you can both turn on the other champion. If its too risky get back to the turret fast. (Ghost if you must) Recall back and buy your beserker greaves and start on your starks if you can.
Keep farming minions , play carefully and always look for a gank on middle when you can. Just dont leave your partner to die and dont run around jungleing like a **** head.
You should be close to finishing your starks , or hopefully if its going well already have it finished and working on your Zeal for the phantoms dancer.
Keep the pressure on your lane. However nows the time you should think of ganking players pushing other lanes. Run to mid and jump out from the bushes for an easy kill if they have pushed to your turret a bit too much. Asoon as you have your starks you can start killing blue/red/dragon easy enough.
You should be pretty much an unstopable killing machine now youve got the majority of your build items. Keep killing buffs and ganking people. Push turrets and dont forget to use ghost/ultimate to escape if you see a gank coming your way.
