Threats to Master Yi with this build
|Fiora||Closest champ to yi, but not quite yi|
Well this is my 1st guide (I think the others never got posted lol) and I'm doing it on yi because of all the recent changes done on him which give him a completely new play style. A bit about yi
'Through the ancient martial art of Wuju, Master Yi tempered his body and sharpened his mind until thought and action became one. Though he chooses to enter into violence as a last resort, the grace and speed with which he wields his blade ensures resolution is always swift. As the last living practitioner of Wuju, Master Yi has devoted his life to finding able pupils to carry on the legacy of his lost people.
Even before Yi mastered Wuju, he was considered one of the most skilled practitioners of the mystical martial art. He would soon prove his mastery when word of a massive Noxian invasion reached his remote village. Yi swept across the battlefields of Ionia, turning back the tide of Noxus's vast infantry with swift and deadly strikes, much to the embarrassment of the Noxian High Command. Recognizing the threat the Wuju disciples posed to their invasion, the Noxians chose to unleash a nightmarish chemical attack on the home of the deadly art. Those who somehow survived the poisonous concoction had their minds twisted beyond repair. Yi's home was left in ruin.
At the war's conclusion, Yi returned to the grotesque remains of his village. There he became the attack's final casualty. Slain in spirit, if not in body, Yi clung to the only feeling left within his heart: vengeance. Driven only by his desire to punish those who'd destroyed his home, Yi spent years training in seclusion. He became a deadlier swordsman than he had ever been, but true mastery of Wuju still eluded him.
At the height of Yi's frustration, a monkey of unusually noble bearing interrupted his training. Standing as straight and tall as a man, the monkey watched and mimicked Yi's movements. Yi shooed the monkey away, but the agile creature took great amusement in turning Yi's own techniques against him. Gradually, Yi felt his anger subside as he sparred with the playful animal, and when the burden of his hatred had fully lifted, he found he had caught the monkey by his tail. Yi then understood that he would never master Wuju so long as he pursued it for vengeance, and as he let go of the monkey, he also released his desire to shed his enemy's blood.
Yi thanked the monkey for showing him what he'd been blind to, and was surprised when the creature actually replied. He wished to learn Yi's art of fighting. It was an odd request, but through it Yi saw his new path: the way to honor the memory of his lost people was to pass their teachings on to a new generation.
"The edge of the sharpest blade is no match for the calm of the peaceful mind."

(If you managed to get past all that you are a genius)
Although I choose yi to play top he is not really supposed to be very tanky, under normal circumstances I would go for GA at most but at times you have to go tanky for the team. Just like GP yi counts on his crit to burst his opponents which means that the patch could have weakened him. However his E now does a lot of true damage which will allow you to tear through tanks with lots of armor.
We will now talk about the spells yi can use
To be honest clarity is a really bad spell for players who have no mana control, as you gain more experience you have better control and wont need this.
Ghost is a summoner spell I really enjoy using on yi. However going over walls is something yi cant do so I'd rather take flash though flash ghost would still be good though reducing your early damage output.
Heal is a great spell for laning and it also gives a movement speed buff which is great for Yi
Revive isn't good beacuse even if you do revive the enemy still gets the gold.
Smite is a must for jungling yi because you can steal drag and baron and gives you an edge on clearing camps at early levels.
Cleanse can actually get yi through a lot of sticky situations but I wouldn't take it because we need raw power!
The only thing that makes teleport worthwhile is if you have homerun so your call in the end.
Barrier is one of the most useless spells in my opinion, its basically a locket shield that doesnt shield allies.
Exhaust is probably the most useful combat spell because it reduces damage done and slows Good trade for ignite
Ignite gives you great early game damage and most importantly reduces healing. A lot of people ignore the 2nd part and take barrier coz of health-damage ratios but ignite is actually a lot better.
Clarvoiance........ I dont see why you would take it.
There is no need to explain flash lol Flash is flash! :)
Pros / Cons
High Damage Very squishy
Can tank a fair bit with W No cc at all
Natural healing W is useless late game because f the lack of heal
Very fast Prone to cc
Creeping / Jungling
In lane rather than trying to farm minions you should be farming champs. Keep trading and then healing up, force them to b, show em whose boss and take their tower.........then show mid lane who is boss.
Yi doesnt really contribute a lot to teamfights apart from damage so it is vital that he comes in after the teamfight starts and starts banging on the squishies( or he can do it before the teamfight begins when enemies are farming).
Well I hope you all enjoyed this build, vote and tell me what I can do better and what champ you want next time :)
