The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
So to start out I have always lovedMaster Yi, and probably so do most of you who are reading this. I remember in season one when Ap Master Yi wasn't yet a thing leading to very high damage output AD. I would also like it thank you guys for even checking this out. So without further introduction, here is my Master Yi build.
Greater Quintessence of Armor Penetration
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Critical Damage
Greater Mark of Armor Penetration
When playing Master Yi it can be very annoying to have someone with just enough armor to make your early game hits look like you are tickling them. With the Armor penetration you will be able to cut through those tops that are a bit more tanky, and even if they aren't you still hurt even more.
Master Yi Later game will start throwing out those crits and when he does you have these Glyphs to back you up. Extra damage with crits goes a long way.
Even while you are hurting the other person, and cutting through their armor, it is really nice to have that extra armor on yourself. You hurt them more and they hurt you less!
With these Quintessences it allows for the rest of the armor left by the marks to get completely destroyed. This will allow you to get more life steal off those the champions with more armor while you do more damage. This will force them to spend more money trying to cover their body in silly clothe or regular armor.
With thesed masteries it really focuses on what Master Yi does best, destroying the enemy and pushing towers.
We all know Master Yi as the person who attacks fast, moves fast, and does that split push to destroy towers. So the masteries focus on allowing Master Yi to shred through their armor even more while doing increased damage. Sorcery applies cooldown reduction allowing Master Yi to pop out his abilities faster and faster. Executioner by the end of the masteries increased damage when target is under 50% health. By then you probably have already won. With the three points in utility it gives movement speed out of battle and a quicker recall.
Flash gives that edge for pulling of quick plays of dodge the enemies big attacks, or allowing you to get close enough to pull of the big damaging moves. Plays such as flashing over walls to get away/to the enemy is a great use of Flash. Ignite can be used in the beginning or end of a battle. When either the enemy has has no health left and getting away, or has a bit of lifesteal and Ignite is needed to reduce the lifesteal and do tons of damage Ignite is a great spell to have on Master Yi.
While Ignite is a great spell exhaust can come in handy as Master Yi. You can pop Highlander and exhaust the enemy to prevent them from going anywhere. While it does not reduce healing it will allow you to keep up or catch the enemy.
Ghost is just that cherry on top of that speedy Master Yi While ultimate is on cooldown and you need to reach the group fight or get away from an enemy, ghost is a great spell that adds a ton of mobility on top of what you already had. Ghost can be a bit riskier escape then Flash but gets you where you need to go almost always faster. Plus Highlander + Ghost is always a fun combo to run circles around the enemy team.
Double Strike Since the new update Master Yi now double strikes on basic ever 4th consecutive auto attack. The second attack applies a 50% bonus damage. You want to make sure you can harass the enemy top lane with the double strike after hitting minions first then popping an alpha stike then hitting them with the double strike.
Alpha Strike With the new AD ratio Aplha strike will nuke enemy minions and neutral camps. It targets the three closest enemies from the main target plus has a chance to deal extra damage Alpha Strike is a great farming tool and harassment move.
Meditate The new Meditate only resists a percentage of the damage dealt, while giving health regeneration. Meditate is a good move to use when a enemy is using a big hitting move on you first so you can reduce their damage and get ready to use your other abilities.
Wuju Style gives passive AD and when activated deals bonus true damage. It is a great ability to get early game high damage and shred even the tanky people. Plus your sword glows. Chosen Master Yi looks like hes carrying a light saber!
Highlander is the coup de grâce of Master Yi. He becomes a speed demon while not being able to be slowed. He also attack faster. This plus Wuju Style and Alpha Strike is what makes Master Yi he can push minions and destroy towers faster then most champions. and if needed can get a quick get away by popping Highlander
I like to quickly max E to get the higher AD, and then quickly go into alpha strike. This allows for killing minions at level one and up fairly easily and doing damage to enemy champions. If facing an enemy that is a bit harder to face early I recommend playing safe and
maxing Alpha Strike first
Quickly rushing a Vampiric Scepter allows for you to rush you The Bloodthirster but might put you at a weaker spot earlier game against other high damage champions. Getting the Avarice Blade early is very useful. Remember it gives passive gold over time and with monster and minion kills. It is a great item to get early and finish of later. The more farm you get before you turn it into a static shiv the better. Infinity Edge gives high critical damage and regular AD damage. Its a great item to have. Many people say static shiv isn't the best on [[master yi but I get it because it finishes Avarice Blade which over time pays for itself and even a bit more. Plus static shiv will allow you to get more assist in team fights while you get the chunk of the kills. The Bloodthirster will give you that more lifesteal keeping you alive far beyond the enemy.
I recommend be cautious early game unless you know you can do well against the enemy but don't be too cocky. work on getting as much farm as possible while keep you and your turret alive. Ward as often as possible, Do not forget to ward. Wards will make sure you stay safe and secure. You should start racking up kills anytime.
Laning phase is over so you should focus on getting even more monster and minion farm from everywhere. Make sure to stay back until enemies have burned their CC or you are sure you can burst them down and get away safely. You need your The Bloodthirsters to be as stack as possible to make you as strong as possible. So don't die! If a Team Fight is beginning make sur eot look for your openings while also not being too timid.
This is when you start to do even more Tons of Damage. You CS should be well into the one-hundreds, or higher. Higher is better unless you are leaving you team to lose team fight while you farm. Remember stay with team as much as possible in high volatile moment of the game. Don't be overly reckless but if you already have your second The Bloodthirster from the build then you you can start going out and killing people very fast.
