Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Everything you need to know:
So basically the stacks take all priority. People will harass you. That's a given. Just play safe and wait for the opportunity to run in and get the stack. Never miss a minion theoretically lol.
The whole idea is to max your cdr as fast as possible. I come out of base with 10% cdr from my masteries. Then back as soon as you have enough gold for each of the cheap cdr items i have listed above. Like immediately. Then teleport to back to lane to get more stacks right away. I've had times where like .1 second made the difference between stack and not.
At max cdr your q will have a 2.4 second cooldown. With just 2 items and a few levels in it it will be short enough to get almost every minion. The faster you can get cdr the more stacks. Simple.
Once you have your frozen heart and most of about 200-300 stacks (about 15 minutes in) you can kill most top laners at whim. That means its time to sacrifice a few stacks to make them pay for all that harassment they did to you earlier.
From here on its smooth sailing and you are a god. Just don't die.
Tips and Tricks
1) Don't die.
2) You can use an auto attack and then Q as a reset to make farming easier at low levels.
3) Don't push too hard. Ganks are bad news.
4) Don't really ask for ganks. Tell the jungler to troll bot and get the adc fed. If the enemy does something stupid and takes a couple turret hits or something and is low for any reason and they are pushed then ask for a gank. It'll be an easy kill.
When behind or countered
Ok so there aren't really that many counters. Champs like xin zhao and fiora and wu kong are annoying because they have such hard engage and can do a lot of damaage. Basically just start armor and play safe.
If your behind in general get boots so you can run in and get a stack and run out.
Gangplank is a counter because his passive makes you perma slowed if he gets off a q. A good gp will just shoot you over and over and over and then chase you down, auto attacking over and over and over. It's quite annoying. Just get boots first.
Teemo isn't hard. Just play safe. Get mr first item then cdr on the rest. Get the health one before the armor one. If you use q before he blinds you it will still hit and the blind wont affect it. Just farm up and then kill him at 15 minutes, like everyone else. Easy.
Garen is really hard because he starts boots and has that spin. You have to start boots too to get away from him. Try and time your farming stacks when he's distracted and let him push with that spin if he's that dumb.
A good goal is 500 stacks at 20 minutes. If you can do this, you have mastered the technique. 400 is also really good. Anything under 300 and you need a lot of practice.
