Hi everyone my name is Kuddzz and i would like to introduce you to one of my new favorite champs, Jayce! And the build i prefer the most for him, this is my first real guide so don't expect to much ;) I'll try to update this guide as much as i can thou he probably get nerfed later on.

KINDA IMPORTANT!

If I mean the ability you use with the cannon I write it in blue, and if I mean the hammer ability i write it in yellow.

For example:

Hit'em with To The Skies! / Shock Blast and shoot'em with To The Skies! / Shock Blast!

Lore:

Armed with wit, charm and his signature, transforming hammer, Jayce lives to protect his native Piltover. He rose to prominence as inventor, one whose magnetic personality and innovative creations brightened the lives of his nation's people. However, his technological marvels also attracted the attention of Piltover's enemies. Viktor, the machine-augmented scientist from Zaun, staged a deadly raid on Jayce's laboratory. Barely impeded by the lab's meager security force, Viktor stole designs from an arcane power converter. Jayce feared that Viktor would create weapons of devastating power with the stolen technology. He implored the Piltover government to respond, but the officials were unwilling to support an act of aggression. Refusing to allow his own inventions to threaten the people of Piltover, Jayce decided to strike back against Viktor himself.

Jayce returned to his own laboratory and began making preparations for his one-man attack. After an intense period of research, development and hands-on testing, he emerged. He had created an array of powerful armaments, including his crowning achievement - the versatile, transforming Mercury Hammer. Armed and ready, Jayce began his assault, easily smashing aside Viktor's acolytes as they rushed to stop him. Jayce fought his way into the heart of the lab and confronted Viktor, forcing the Zaunite to flee. After destroying Viktor's prototype weapon, Jayce returned to Piltover where he was hailed as a hero. He reveled in the adoration, but he knew that his actions had provoked the nation's enemies. Now devoted to the defense of his people, Jayce is Piltovers's best hope for a bright future.

Pros + // Both ranged and melee. + // Kinda tanky. + // Deals tons of damage. + // Great range. + // Can restore mana. + // Can be super fast! + // Played bot, jungle or top.

Cons - // Kinda low damage early game. - // Mainly targeted. - // Runs out of mana easily. - // No epic skin! - // Hard to master.

Reason why i skipped:

Lifesteal - Jayce early health sustain is good already and you wont need that bonus 3% later on.
AD per level - The thing you need is still early damage because late game 9 bonus ad wont do much.
Crit damage - I don't play jayce as a critter and with that 15% crit chance its quite useless...
Health - I don't feel like Jayce is one of the champions that requires a lot of health and therefore i choose armor, magic res and regen instead.

Because of Last Whisper and Black Cleaver you don't need any armor pen runes, take AD marks and quintessences, for more tankyness take magic res glyphs and armor seals.

I know you cant max your ult first but its still your main priority ;)

Why I wanna max my ult first It's an ult? Nuff said...

Why I wanna max my Q second It's almost your whole damage output, max it as fast as possible!

Why I wanna max my W third In cannon form it gives great attack speed and in hammer form it restores your mana and does nice damage.

Why I wanna max my E last E is great to take an early point in but you don't need it maxed cause the difference isn't to much...

Other options:

If you use to fail flash or just prefer ghost.

Another great pick instead of ignite.

Good for map control but I don't recommend it because of your speed.

Jungling only.

Jayce can be played top, jungle or ad carry but this is a top guide, so I'll just go trough solo toping.

If the enemies push your lane, farm with your Mercury Cannon and use your To The Skies! / Shock Blast or Lightning Field / Hyper Charge.

If you are the one to push or no one is pushing, I recommend that you use your Mercury Hammer and Lightning Field / Hyper Charge to farm.

Jayce can easily go b without loosing the lane, just b, buy what you need and use Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate on spawn (so u don't loose any mana) and just use your Mercury Cannon / Mercury Hammer some times to trigger your passive and you will be back in 0 time!

Jayce is great at harassing so do it as much as you can, here is a great combo that should give you an easy kill.

Start with Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate + To The Skies! / Shock Blast, use Mercury Cannon / Mercury Hammer, run through Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate, turn on Lightning Field / Hyper Charge and slow your opponent with To The Skies! / Shock Blast, do some auto attacks before knocking him/her back towards your tower with Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate, if your opponent is still alive use Mercury Cannon / Mercury Hammer and shoot him/her down with Lightning Field / Hyper Charge.

Thats my favorite combo at least, it sounds a bit complicated but its really easy when you get it, video might come later.

If the enemy almost have no cc and magic damage.

If your team lacks cc or you would like to play a little tankier, don't buy Trinity Force thou.

If your team doesn't have a real tank and enemy team does a lot of damage.

If you would buy a Warmog's Armor and a Frozen Mallet this is a must.

Great damage when you crit! (40% with this and Trinity Force)

If you feel like you go OM all the time you can buy this but I don't recommend it...

Instead of Guardian Angel if you would like to support your team.

Jayce is great at helping teammates run away from ganks or 5v1 situations.

Example:

One of your teammates is low on health running from an enemy who would eventually kill your friend, thats when you come in handy (if you're close of course)!
Just use Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate to speed up your teammate and your self, then use Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate to knock that f*cker back, if the enemy is kinda low on hp, kill him/her with To The Skies! / Shock Blast and Lightning Field / Hyper Charge.
