Why Mid you might ask?

Jarvan has Great Survivability a shield and an escape not to mention a ult where you automatically force flash. Jarvan does massive damage while being able to lane against ranged units without to much harm due to his ranged/long ranged farming/pushing/Everything.

Pros:

Two closers
Passive armor and AS
Two CC
Natural armor reduction
High damage output
Tanky
A Aura


Cons:

Two moves to use a gap closer/CC
Can be mana hungry if not played right
Can lock team mates in your Cataclysm

These runes Provide a good magic resist and armor and utilize Armor Reduc and AD to be able to totally dominate mid lane.

You could also Consider full armor or AD Quints

Using this setup Gives you optimal Defense to be able too withstand and sustain Harass. It also allows you to play more aggressive and it allows for better ganks in my opinion.

I personally Take

Flash

and Ignite Unless I need to take Teleport and help team with ganks

Flash ignite gives you kill potential and a good escape ability to add to your Q combo
