I maybe a new build maker however I main master yi mid and Ill show you guys how to play him.
This build has been done well in the Korean servers.

1. runes and masteries
2. Items
3. abilities
4. spells
5. pros and cons
6. Champions that counter and you counter

take attack speed runes and attack damage runes so u can farm faster and easier
armor if there are ad assassins or MR if there is mage or ap assassins
This is what I have it is really up to you and New players do not follow this guide

YOU MUST BUY RAVENOUS HYDRA

its your only wave clear in the game, it helps w alot, it gives him life steal making poke useless to him

You need to buy shiv right after, dont worry about boots shiv gives you movement speed
after laning phase you are free to sell your hydra for other life steal items like blood thrister or Blade of the Ruin King (BORK)

Master Yi

has 2 gap closers like Zed, and Yasuo
His Q is a very basic one
however not many people think that his ult is a gap closer
make sure that after you Q to the enemy champion ult after the Q so you can use your Q in as soon as possible.
DO NOT SPAM Q DURING LANE
Yi's early game is that he is very mana hungry so use your q wisely

Pros:
Smart Yi players would manage their mana and flash wisely making him a hard assassin to counter

Cons
Dumb Yi players would waste their mana making them easy targets for Junglers and easy trade for flash

Mid yi currently is a hard lane to fight, because you need to play very wisely against hard AP bruzers like Leblanc with her silent or Diana (but honestly who play those champions these days)

Smart thing to do as yi is to roam and after you take the first turret for the team
therefore making it easier for jg to gank lanes.
