I don't build Hextech Gunblade because it expensive and since the nerf I don't think it's worth the spot in my build. It's still a good item, but I have no MrP to enhance the AP on it. Wriggle's Lantern + Force of Nature provide me with enough sustainability in lane, and in terms of survivability in team fights, I'd rather just get defensive items, rather then an item which has defensive capabilities that can be shut down by Ignite/ Exhaust/kiting. As for the active, I have enough slows in the build to make up for it.

How I read through your guide once more I realized you go for survivability more than damage output. But your survivability is given by high Armor/MR value (correct me if Im wrong) and significant HP regen (FoN) and a bit of Lifesteal (Wriggle). In my honest opinion - if you are in fight, you have no time to regen. You need Lifesteal and Spellwamp to keep you in battle alive. All of Jax spells procs from AP and all deal magic damage, so miss Spellwamp is crucial waste of potential. Even if you dont build any AP items, the magic damage (+HP wamped back) from spells cannot be overlooked.

I dont say, this build will not work. I hope you have a lot of experience with it and thats why you wrote this guide (btw I dont understand ppl who write guide a day after a champ is released - Fizz, Graves, Shyvana). Something that works for someone dont have to work for someone else.

I have tried to play Jax as pure AD, pure AP, but I feel most comfortamble with Hybrid.

On the other hand, you have pretty nice formating, my favourable pictures and nice screens. So you have my little +1 for that. I will keep my vote so far, till I think about it more OR I test it.

When you take into account dodge procs against AD, early game FoN + ultimate active against AP, a huge amount of health from passive and high resistances in general, I can usually tank fights early and mid game with health to spare. If I were to get Gunblade earlier, I might be able to heal on attack/spell casts, but I would die so quickly and my damage would be so bursty that I would be focused, meaning I'd die a lot quicker. If they focus you, it is not a huge problem because if someone stands in front of you attacking, it's very likely they will die from your damage alone. As well as this, you're probably the tankiest player on your team so you should be thankful you are being focused while your true carries destroy their team.

The problem that appears very often in Summoner Rifts map (in Normal, in ranked it is not so usual) is the absence of tank in a team. When I see my team is going to play without tank I prefer to go Rammie, because we are likely to win with tank than without him. If I play with my buddies (9/10 we are all 5 and with Skype), everyone has his/her (yes, we play with girls!) role and the tank is always in our team (sometimes 2, when we have a mood for than - Rammie and Amumu pwn).

The point why Im talking about this stuff is that Jax has great tankiness, with your build you should go over 3K (cca) and have high armor/MR. My build goes over 5K, but with significantly lower armor/MR. And that tankinnes has to be used if you miss tank in your team. Your squishy Caitlyn needs someone to be live shield to release her damage. Then you (as Jax) have to go for armor/MR and tank for your team, but your damage is quite limited. On the other hand when you have tank you can maximize your damage to be the biggest threat for enemy. So my opinion - your build/guide is great if you play solo que and dont know what to expect from your teammates. If you play with some friend who will tank for you (=your team) then I think you should go for more damage and switch Wit's End for my favourite Hextech Gunblade.

Like with many other champions you should optimize build to your team and to enemy team. Sometimes I need more armor/MR too and you simply have to build some item even if you dont build it in most of the games. If you dont adapt you will lose.

like I said, something that works for anyone dont have to work for someone else. This is a choice how to build Jax, so you deserved it from me. Why, is written in my previous comments. Im gonna test this build in Summoner Rifts and send you screen how it worked. Last note: I prefer Jax in Twisted Treeline, thats the map where he excels and where I got my greatest games with Mr Jax.

And I suggest "Comment to vote" to avoid trolls at least you got some better score.

Thanks for the vote and the feedback. I get 4.3k health, 220 MR + Armor, and 300 attack damage when the build is complete. I will add Hextech Gunblade to the items section as a situational replacement for Wit's End. As I said at the start of the guide, this is not for novices, and the idea that you have to build tank items situationally is assumed knowledge.

id advise against even putting in the jungle bit, they are remaking jax and taking dodge out of the game soon so that will mean nothing

On that note I may as well delete the entire guide because he is getting completely remade. This guide can used up until they change Jax, one they do I will update it.
