Introduction
Hey guys, this is my first build on Mobafire.
First of all, I excuse myself for spelling and grammar mistakes. Since I am german, my english is not best. I hope this is still readable.
I decided to show you my Morde builds because I'm pretty successfull with both and I think many players could be as good or even better, if they only knew how to play..
So here I will try to explain the following:
Runes - why did I pick these?
Masteries - Why this way?
Summoner spells - Pick or not pick, that's the question!
Item choice - Is this the best way to equip Morde for battle?
Playstyle - How to use this all on the fields of justice?
Hope you enjoy and learn something about my favourite champ in LoL.
I usually play Morde solo mid or solo top, get fed somewhere in mid game, get focussed, refuse to die and win.
The clue here is the mixture of survivability and damage out.
You will see later.
german version planned!
Runes
Here we go, the rune setup is on schedule:
- well, that's easy to explain.. More mpen, more dmg. More dmg, more shield (and spellvamp!). More shield, more survivability.
That results in: More damage + more survivability.
these give you some more survivability, important in early game, still useful in late game.
Saved my *** so many times, getting away with <50 health..
this will let you use your ulti more often and lets you almost spam your
Siphon of Destruction.
gives you the mp5 you need to survive your own spell spam.
if you want to, feel free to replace the quints with AP and the Seals with something you better like, it's up to you..
I'm happy with this, but if it's best.. I got no idea... depends on your personal playstyle I guess ;)
Items for Offtank
Here we are with your choice of items.
As always, this item build can not always be the best.
It depends on you, your team, enemy team and so many other factors.
However, I always start with
Doran's Shield. It boosts your health and hp/5! This will let you stay on lane for ages. Since your spells cost hp, you will need this.
Otherwise you drain your own hp and make yourself easy prey.
On your first trip back, usually around lvl 6, you should have enough money to buy atleast
Boots of Speed and some health pots.
If you were lucky enough to get a kill or two or atleast a few assists, you should be able to purchase
Mercury's Treads.
Next items are totally situational.
Watch your enemy on lane and their jungler, if they have one.
Mostly AP damage? Finish your
Mercury's Treads and go on with
Negatron Cloak for your
Force of Nature.
Mostly AD damage? Go for
Chain Vest now, then finish your boots and complete your
Randuin's Omen for your cc.
One AP one AD //Hybrid? Finish your boots, get a
Chain Vest, see what hurts more and decide what you need more.
Your biggest problem is that enemys get away too often?
gain
Rylai's Crystal Scepter first then for another cc and some extra life and ap!
After you have these 3 Items complete (
Randuin's Omen and
Force of Nature
Rylai's Crystal Scepter), your tanky part of equipment is mostly done.
Let's see what we got now:
We have some nice hp regen, letting us spam our skills. (Don't forget your runes!)
We have big Mres, leaving their AP Champs as nothing better than creeps.
We have a nice amount of armor to resist their AD Champs.
This is the point where my stats usually look like 6/1/4.
Even with only buying defensive items so far, your damage output is still remarkable.
You a'int a burster like Annie, but you stand and fight for so long, that they would think twice before attacking you, for they will know that you are hard to beat.
Now, if your team has a tank or if you're just so fed that you always will be focussed, you can go for some damage output.
Next item would be
Abyssal Scepter. What do we get from this? More Magic resist.. they will hate you for that :D
70 AP for more damage.
And the aura! I love this aura! Reducing all near enemy's Mres my 20 means a nice damage boost for you and all APs in your team.
And last but not least,
Will of the Ancients! This gives us all we want. Spell Vamp for survivability, AP for damage out and the Aura that your APs will love you for make this item just perfect for our Mordekaiser.
This is my usual item build. In most games, I can atleast start building the Gunblade, so don't worry about expensive items. As the perfect farmer and killing machine you are, you will get flooded by gold.
If game does not run as good as you want it and you die too often or one of the enemies is fed, go analyze what you can to.
replace one or 2 of your offensive items with some more def, eg
Thornmail if you die to their ADs or
Banshee's Veil if their APs are too strong.
If game runs even better than you thought and you reach scores like 16/0/8 (happens more often than you think) you may want to replace one or 2 of your def items with more AP.
Herefore some good choices would be:
Rabadon's Deathcap for the ultimate AP boost or
Zhonya's Hourglass if you still want to keep some armor.
If enemy team has only few or weak ccs, you should think about replacing your
Mercury's Treads with
Ninja Tabi if needed or otherwise
Sorcerer's Shoes for your damage out.
That's it for item choice.
Playstyle
Choose a solo lane, top if possible.
If you're 1on2, play defensive, last hit and harrass a little bit. Wait for the moment to strike, you should only leave your cover if you're sure you can get atleast 1 kill.
Outfarm and outlvl them, become stronger and eat them when you're ready. Just be patient.
If 1on1, you may play a little more offensive. but, for sure, beware of junglers! Try to always have a ward with you. Here, too, farm and harrass. And hit them when they don't expect you to.
If, for any reason, 2on1 or 2on2, watch your mate, play together, trap your enemy and save your friend.
And never forget. you will get fed in most games and you will be able to carry. but that's not your job! Save your carrys before you save yourself, secure your team either by helping them to safety - or by just killing the foe.
oh and your
Creeping Death.. is just perfect for friends like
Akali or
Lee Sin.
See when they want to jump forward, and place your shield on them. This secures them (armor and mres) and and the same time boosts the damage output.
In team fights, let your team focus your favourite target for
Children of the Grave.
This should either be a range AD (my favs here are
Twitch and
Ashe)) or a melee Hybrid
like
Akali.
Focus the down instantly with placing
Igniteand
Children of the Grave, then hitting with
Siphon of Destruction and
Mace of Spadesuntil death.
Most carrys are down in below 3 Seconds if focussed like this.
Doing this turns the fight from 5vs5 to 6vs4 instantly.
However, your focus should always be on the most dangerous target, either you use your
Children of the Grave this one or, if possible, you save it for the next target or fleeing carrys with low hp. place and see them panic.
try to save your ulti for kills. place it when the enemy is low or when you are sure you will ht him afterwards with no chance for him to escape.
Oh and one last thing. Don't killsteal from your carrys. They really need the kills, for you it's just helpful. And you will get enough kills anyways.
Summary
A'ight, that's it for Offtank Morde so far, hope you learned something about the way I play and kill.
Let's mention the most important points once more:
- You're still Offtank. Kills are nice, but not necessary. Carrys are worth more than you are (except they're feeders, for sure)
- Don't flame!
- You will be focussed if you play well. Keep your eyes open and play careful, they will lurk everywhere to catch you alone.
- Don't flame!
- Pick your items situational, look what you need!
- Don't flame!
- Buy wards!
- Don't flame!
- LoL is a team game. If you want to play solo games go offline and play RPGs.
- Don't flame!
- LoL is a team game. Be nice to your team and play with them.
- Don't flame!
- LoL is a social game. Be nice to your team. AND to your enemys!
- Don't flame!
Final words
The End.
