this build lets him eat damage, no matter who it is against. Kennen, Akali, trynd, you can tank all of them and still be able to get kills. the runes give you more than enough cooldown so taht you can keep spamming moves, and the resistance as well as regen behind your shield will give you the durability to last. this is also why i say get warmogs, because it allows you to survive that initial burst. even a crit plank cant hurt you when you have a thornmail and he just crits thru your shield with parlley

Im not saying that spell vamp is bad on mordekaiser, but when you tank, you typically want health as a general rule. In many games when you need to tank for your team, staying alive is easier done you have more health, especially when you go up against those burst teams you mentioned. If anything, you can just get both, which this build allows, and you won't die. The only reason i don't incorporate life steal in this build as an essential is because i have played much more successful games without spell vamp than those with it.

Mordekaiser isn't a generic hero.

You need both Cooldown Reduction and Spell Vamp.

Mordekaiser isn't a good tank against burst teams, and he's OP against sustained teams.

i seriously disagree. for one, you are getting the warmog's way past the laning phase, meaning you dont need to worry about lane sustaining, and, since your health is already hard to take down because of all the resistance, you just become harder to kill with more health. if anything, you can just get both, but warmogs definitely helps mordekaiser tank

Mordekaiser is the best "sustained" tank in the game.

Mordekaiser is pretty easily killed when jumped by five people and stunned, but if the enemy team has 0 CC, then with 50% spell vamp and 40% CDR, you are completely un-killable.

Basically, it's less of a issue of "hey i need health to survive their burst" and more of a "oh they are a burst team, i'm NOT going to pick Mordekaiser." issue.

Of course, that only applies in ranked.

The ONLY reason to get a Warmog's Armor on Mordekaiser is if you NEED the health to keep you alive long enough so that you can NEVER DIE AGAIN.

Unless Warmog's is GOING to keep you alive, then it's worthless.

Mordekaiser can survive as long as his sustained tank is better than their damage.

While he's doing it, he's doing lots of damage to the enemy.

He's like Amumu, but with spell vamp. (Which by the way is an AWESOME way to play Mummy.)

Warmog's Armor < Hextech Revolver in terms of lane sustain.

Also, Warmog's Armor is the worst tank item in the game for mordekaiser.

early game, the any regeneration helps, but i get what you are saying. and the warmogs overkill is for that main reason lol. the funny thing is about getting those ap items, mordekaiser doesn't depend on them to do damage. not every champion will get resistance and even with it, you will be constantly doing damage, wearing them out. of course, i left a empty space for any item you feel is needed, so using it for an abysal scepter wouldnt be a bad idea

Up till force of nature i can agree cause i played against a similar build with the same start and he was a pain in the ***. Other items are still ok but warmog is kinda idk , overkill. I would change it into an AP item together with the last item giving you some nice damage aswell. Other then that its a pain in the *** build to play against.

P.S Masteries i would change aswell as the extra hp/mp regeneration is only half for you (got no mana) so more of the defense tree would be more helpfull then that.

the warmogs adds more beef for you to tank with, and it goes great with FoN, y do u say no?

Warmog's Armor is a no.

I grab the FoN first all the time because it gives that max health regen on top of the flat rate that you are already getting. laning should still be going on and the FoN gives you more than enough regen to stay for a very long time. Plus, you are more vulnerable from spells than you are physical damage for the most part, so that early magic resist really gives you an edge over the majority of the champions

I would get the warmog's first as the force of nature is more effective when ur HP is higher since the HP regen amount based on your total health.
I like the thornmail tough for the pure armor and nice damage when your enemy isn't carefull with their ranged carries like ashe or cait.
