Mordekaiser is a strong champion who can deal good damage and be tanky at the same time.
His only weakness is his poor movement speed and no CC or escapes.

[*] Hextech Gunblade: I like to put this item on Mordekaiser cause it works better than WotA and gives to Mordekaiser a little CC, but still useful. When activaded the Hextech will slow a target and let our slow champ to chase and kill. Over that, Hextech is good for nice spellvamp and lifesteal, giving lot of sustain.

[*] Warmog's Armor: Really not a must on Mordekaiser, but good if you want to be tanky and have a nice health regen. 1000 hp are always good and stack well with armor and magic resist given by Zhonya and SpiritVisage.

[*] Zhonya's Hourglass: Always good pick for his utility. If you are facing an AD enemy think to build this one faster than usually. Over that it will boost your AP and armor.

[*] Spirit Visage: Really good item both for CDR and for his passive. Spellvamp/Lifesteal will heal you more and more and more with Visage. Good amount of HP and Mr too.

[*] Rabadon's Deathcap: It will not offer you any tanky sustain but it will anyway improve your damage in a pretty way. Good bonus after Zhonya. Build it as 4/5th/6th item.

[*] Shoes, of course magic penetration is important, but you could try to build Mercury or Tabi if you need to be more tanky and don't need more damage. Anyway Sorcerer's will improve damage and are very useful.



As top or mid laner, with a tanky build, Mordekaiser will be very strong late game, can deal damage and resist too with good sustain and auto-healing. Try to start early game more aggressive as you can, outfarm the other laner and push down the turret. Careful to ganks and buy wards cause you don't have good escapes.
