A number of criticisms for this guide:

1. Spellthief's Edge is the most optimal start. It's so easy for Morgana to get gold from just laying down a pool. You can also sell Spellthief's Edge/ Frostfang for Talisman of Ascension later on.

2. You should start Dark Binding. There's absolutely no reason to start with Tormented Shadow, especially when you're not going Spellthief's Edge. I still wouldn't like it, but I could understand if you were starting Spellthief's Edge. Even starting Spellthief's Edge, Binding gives way too much catch potential.

3. I really don't like dual pen reds on Morgana. She has extremely low auto attack range, 450, so I would probably just run full spell pen here. I also don't really like scaling yellows. I would probably run a mix of flat hp and flat armor. I'm generally not a fan of scaling defensive runes, but especially not in a duo lane.

4. As far as masteries, you go pretty unnecessarily deep in the defensive tree. I would probably run 9/0/21 or 0/9/21, but thats because I like to roam on Morgana, but in general I think deep in the utility tree is very good on her. I don't really think Perseverance , Second Wind, or Swiftness are that effective on Morgana. I understand going atleast 12 points deep in the defensive tree for Juggernaut and Hardiness even if it's not something I would like. It just seems more practical to go something like 0/12/18 or 0/13/17 as opposed to that deep in the defensive tree when I really question how effective those 3 talents can be.

5. Your guide kind of ends abruptly. Maybe give a little more of a summary or something.

If you address those things or fix them I think this could be a pretty solid guide

Morgana is one of my favorite supports. I play her quite often, and I just have a few things to add that might be useful for your guide :)

You should consider Spellthief's Edge as your starting gold item. It's ridiculously good on Morgana, since the bonus AP works really well with her high ratio abilities as well as her W being able to apply all three ticks. Each individual tick actually does 10 extra damage, so in a second and a half you can do an additional 30 damage from bonus damage alone. In addition, I disagree with you saying that Ancient Coin gives you more gold income. With the nerf several patches ago, Ancient Coin's passive gold regen was taken away, where as Spellthief's Edge's was buffed. I'll include the math as to why :)

math

So as you can see, Spellthief's Edge pays for itself quite nicely, and added in with the extra AP and mana regen, you can poke and deal damage from afar as well. Now, I'm going to address your second point: "Although Frost Queen's Claim does give you higher AP its active isn't as great compared to Talisman of Ascension." I disagree. While it doesn't give mobility to your own team, it gives you a heck of a slow to the enemy team. Let's say you're chasing an ADC that is really good at kiting. Throw the active, and they get an 80% movement slow. Another example is that your team needs to disengage. Your team is running, and you throw the active behind you. The entire enemy team is slowed to a crawl. Morgana's ult relies on your being able to keep up with your target. How are they going to run if they can barely move?

So I guess the point I'm trying to make from that is that you shouldn't rule out Frost Queen's Claim. It's a really good item since it gives plenty of gold, as well as having an active that can be used in a variety of different ways. It may not be as versatile as talisman of ascension, but it's still a great item to have.

If you're going to dedicate so many points into the defense tree, you may as well go ahead and take 0/21/9. There's really no point in only taking the tier 4/5 masteries if you don't plan on taking the tier 6 one. I personally like running 0/9/21 for the utility, but that's just my personal playstyle :)
