Introduction

Hey Guys, i play Amumu a lot in the last time espacially in Ranked, and i always had huge success with this build (Win/Loose 16/3).
So I'll show u the way i play him, i don't call it the best way for everybody, but for me its the best, so enjoy :)
In this Guide i play Amumu as a tank, because in my opinion he is more useful for team if he goes tanky, and deals much damaga with his W anyway.

Runes

I chose those runes because armor makes jungling safer and AD makes it faster. I alrdy tried out Runes with a bit AP and MagicPen instead of the Attackdmg, but it works better with the AD Runes.
I normally use those runes on every jungler, except Fiddle or any other AP dependent Junglers.

Masteries

I chose a not very common version of masteries, that i discovered on my own.
I take everything making me doing more/getting less damage to/by minions.
Then i take movement speed for betetr positioning and ganks in early.

Items

I always start with Regrowth Pendant, and go back if i got about 725 Gold, to get my Philosopher's Stone + Boots. Then i wait for enough gold to buy the Heart of Gold + Boots of Swiftness. The Sunfire Cape is the most important Item in early. It stacks wonderful with ur q and makes u jungling way faster. The Frozen Heart gives you a huge amount of Mana and Armor and the wonderful passive that works against Nashor/Dragon aswell.
After this it's time for some MR, getting Banshee's for Health + Mana and FoN for more Movement Speed and HP-Regeneration. Shurelyas is just one of many posibilities as last item, but imo its one of the best, because it makes positioning for ur ult way easier. (Other posibilities are for example GA or Warmogs)

Summoner Spells

I always take smite and exhaust in jungle, but at Amumu i thought about to take flash instead of exhaust.
But in my opinion there is no real need to do this, because u can get to your enemy with ur Q aswell.

Pros / Cons

Pro's :
-very strong in Late Game
-nice ganks since Lvl 3
-good Damageoutput even if played as tank.

Con's :
-High Mana costs -> Frozen Heart + Banshees
-very Q dependant to get kills

Creeping / Jungling

In jungle u can leave ur W permanently on after having Philosopher's Stone. The other skills only use if u gank. Try to do Ninja Ganks, because amumu is really strong at it after lvl 6.

Team Work

Try not to fight wothour ur team, because ur enemies won't take too much dmg by you.
In teamfights Amumu is destrys everything his Stun CD id rly low in Late and his Ult( if well used!) makes u win nearly every Teamfight.
