Dr. Mundo Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Alright this guide is short simple and sweet. Mundo hasn't gotten much respect recently and im bringing him back with a new look for dominion, where a tanky dps with staying power can do very well.
I LOVE MUNDO. YOU SHOULD LOVE MUNDO.
Pros / Cons
He's a Doctor
Cleavers do % of HP dmg which is great for killing fellow tankys
built in slow
MUNDO MUNDO MUNDO MUNDO
He can get swarmed early game.
needs teamates do do dmg early game.
NO OTHER WEAKNESSES
Ok Runes are pretty simple:
Armor Pen Marks: mundo's maso will give him great attack dmg and you dont want to use many items to give you the penetration you need.
Flat Armor Seals: Cant go wrong with these and they arent expensive.
CD Glyphs: These are important, as mundo you want to remember one very important thing: PEOPLE HATE GETTING HIT BY CLEAVERS. you want to be spamming these at all times and as often as possible.
9-21-0 is really just one option, especially in the attack tree. Speccing CDR and spell pen in attack tree is fine and really just up to your style. Defense tree should always be included, remember that Mundo needs to be tough or his ability to hurt people goes right out the window.
Alright I want to stress that the items in this build are all mandatory! However, the order you build them is is open to interpretation.
Spirit visage and merc treads early are gonna give you all the magic resist you need for the round and SV's passive is going to make your passive and ulti REALLY shine. Remember you want to be able to hang around defending towers as much as possible.
Zeal: OK Mundos attack speed is terrible.. it really is and by mid game you are going to want to take advantage of all the bonus AD you get from Masochism.
Phantom Dancer: More of the same from Zeal the attack crit and move speed are going to fill the gap that Mundo's natural stats lack. This will make you a serious threat in melee
Sunfire: up until this point we havent grabbed any armor for mundo at all. At this point if you are dealing w/ WW, udy, ez, yi or another strong AD carry you may want to take a thornmail at this point. However, sunfire is a bit better for this gamestyle because of the HP and aoe passive that will workj well with your W.
Atma's: This is gonna double your melee dmg Easily if you get this far in your build, It's really just the icing on the cake. If you wanted to go Banshee's or force of nature that would be great too.
skill sequence is pretty standard. We want maximum cleaver throws early and often. and then maso for those big melee hits when the enemy is foolish enough to ignore you.
Every summoner spell available is gonna work with this build.
I go w/ flash for wall jumps and ignite for those difficult last hits early game.
Ghost is another good choice but your ulti and PD will be giving you some pretty good move speed already.
You might think this is a joke but read this carefully and you'll see its true genius.
1- RUN INTO FIGHT
2- THROW CLEAVERS AT ANYTHING RUNNING AWAY.
3- THROW CLEAVERS AT ANYTHING RUNNING AT YOUR CARRY.
4- THROW CLEAVERS AT ANYTHING ELSE.
5- IF ANYONE GETS CLOSE PRES "W" AND "E" AND AUTO ATTACK WHILE THROWING CLEAVERS.
6- IF FIGHT IS STILL RAGING AND YOU HAVE 30% OR LESS HIT ULTI AND CONTINUE WITH PLAN.
7- MOST IMPORTANT RULE: DON'T ACT AFRAID EVER! ACT LIKE MUNDO AND GET IN YOUR OPPONENTS HEAD.
8- THROW CLEAVERS AT PEOPLE.
Mundo can press a creep wave extremely fast, the key is not being afraid to use your skills.
Remember, cleavers that hit give you about half of you life spent back, so use those suckers.
your Burning Agony can also be used after about mid game but remember earlier to us it sparingly.
Mundo is the Spanish, Filipino and Portuguese word for "world."
The icons for Dr. Mundo's Burning Agony Burning Agony and Masochism Masochism skills used in game on the champion info screen show him in his original model, which was used in the early closed beta. In fact, we can see that model on a coffin of Voodoo Shaman in Autumn version of Summoner's Rift.
