Hello people I'm TheAnnoyingHans and I'm back with a new, extraodinary way to build Renekton, the Butcher of the Sands. I've been playing Renekton alot lately and have tried out the other builds on mobafire and some I invented myself. But when I did it I came to the conclusion that none of the builds on mobafire really brought you that tanky, damage dealing CC Renekton that you want to have. I played some games with him and once I was facing a Renekton who gave me the idea to have Maw of Molmortius in my build and I'm very grateful that he/she showed me how to build Renekton ''the best way''. And remember, you SHOULD NOT follow this build exactly every game. You should try this out, and buy what you think is better Renekton and in the game. This build is for inspiration and that's why I added 5 different builds that you can build and try out. Every LoL player has a different style to play, some aggresive (like me), some defensive and some a bit in the middle. But if the build fits you really good then you can use it all the, just like me ( but it's important to build what items that counter the enemy champions !!!! ). On a faraway world, Renekton was born a member of a race of bestial guardians created to serve as the rulers and protectors of their people. Alongside his brother Nasus, Renekton oversaw the upkeep of the Great Library, which served as both a vault of ancient knowledge and the repository of the teachings of the Cycle of Life and Death. While the enlightened Nasus taught those scholars who came to study, Renekton served as the Great Library's gatekeeper. He could sense the true natures of those who sought Nasus' teachings, and he sent away those with dark ambitions. Over time, however, his repeated exposure to this evil infected his mind. He grew furious with the malevolence in the hearts of men, and as he descended deeper into madness, he discovered he could quell the fury by cutting the evil from the men who possessed it. Unfortunately, the relief was as short-lived as the subjects, and the ''butcher's rage'', as it came to be known, would resurge even stronger.
Consumed by his anger, Renekton turned on the one being who could defeat him -- his own brother. Nasus pleaded with Renekton to see reason. Realizing that he was beyond redemption, the despondent Nasus valiantly struck down his wayward sibling. Defenseless, Renekton waited eagerly for death's release. It never came. He was spared when summoners from the League of Legends claimed his brother. Caught in the wake of this powerful spell, Renekton tumbled for what seemed like ages between realities. When he finally emerged, he fell deep into the sewers of Zaun. Insane with fury, Renekton languished in his newfound home, driven senseless by his rage. That is until, by happenstance, he caught a familiar scent on the air. Believing that the familiar scent who guide him to the solace which was fading from his memory, he his brother all the way to the Institute of War.

I'm not really sure what runes are best for Renekton but I think these runes in the build fits really good to him, but please if you know any runes that fits better for Renekton I would be glad if you comment what runes that you think should fit him better. I'll come back with more about the runes later, I'm not a master in what runes you should have I always get carried away buying a new champion instead.

For masteries I most often play with 3-26-1 being sure to take
that boosts both flash and teleport. When I play more of an AD carry Renekton I get 21-8-1 going more for more damage but less sustain and health.

Recommended summoner spells
I think this summoner spell is the best in the whole game it has saved my life endless amounts of times and got me alot of kills. You can use it either to flash towards a champion to stun it or jump over walls to safely get away from ganks or just very bad situations. It works really great with Renektons Slice and Dice and if you use them both your distance to the other champions are going to be huge. A must have on almost every champion, not least Renekton.
This summoner is so great for solo laning because it will give you a level advantage since you do not have to walk to your lane and a great way to push, defend or to quickly get to a teamfight.
Optional summoner spells
A nice summoner spell to chase or run away but the thing that makes it worse than flash is that you do not get a distance between the other champion right away. So if you get CC:ed you're dead even though you used Ghost. It's a good summoner spell and if you would trade Flash, it would be to Ghost.
I think it's a bit of a waste on Renekton since you already have so much damage and giving up Teleport for some extra damage is just a big loss and not worth it. And when you play this serious in ranked games you should give all kills to your ad carry or mid anyway so I think it's a big waste.
Not so much to say here, it's a great summoner spell but it's not worth it to give up Teleport or Flash.
This summoner spell is fun baiting people and then using it in the last second but it's not worth it to trade against either Flash or Teleport.
this is an awesome tool for initiators, tanks, and anyone who gets targeted with CC a lot. Combined with Flash, this makes an amazing escape tool.
But not compared to flash and the teleport is so important for the solo lane, so I'd say no but still a wise choice if you have an idea about it.
The rest of the summoner spells are just stupid to get so I do not give a description or say why it's bad here, just a waste of time.

Boots of Speed Very good to get as your first item because it gives you alot of movement speed that helps you farm, escape ganks, chase, and get to lane more quickly. Since it's so cheap you can afford three Health Potion which gives you lot of sustain in your lane without buying health.
Heart of Gold This item is really great for a solo lane if you have a hard time getting minions and it gives you a lot gold in late game. It also gives some health that gives you some sustain and makes you look much more threatening with a large healthbar.
Phage This item gives you even more health and also adds some extra damage and slow to your basic attacks. A really good item that always should be bought early on for the slow, health and damage.
The Brutalizer is your first real damage item. It gives some nice damage and cooldown reduction but it's not worth it to continue building Youmuu's Ghostblade unless going full ad in the beginning.
Mercury's Treads You get this mostly for the movement speed but also for the tenacity that makes all CC:s last 35% shorter. This tenacity + 10% from masteries makes stuns and slows only last for 55% of their original time. So if you get stunned for 2 seconds you're only gonna be stunned for less than 1 second with these boots.
Atma's Impaler is the best item you could ever buy on Renekton because it gives you crit, armor and most important, so much attack damage. I think some of the people watching this build thinks it's a waste to buy Atma's Impaler before you get Frozen Mallet or some other health item because and you already have a bit over 2300 health when you get it so you still get lots of damage and it rises when you get more health so no waste at all.SINCE Atma's Impaler GOT NERFED IT MAY NOT BE WORTH IT TO BUY IT SO QUICKLY. I WOULD RECOMMEND A Sunfire Cape IF Atma's Impaler DOESN'T GIVE YOU ENOUGH ATTACK DAMAGE. I WILL COME BACK WITH MORE WHEN I'VE PLAYED MORE Renekton AFTER THE Hecarim PATCH.
Maw of Malmortius This item is really good with it's magic resist, spell shield, and attack damage. It gives so much AD when you get lower health so you can kill almost anyone on when you have low health.
Frozen Mallet This item is really good on Renekton due to the slow and the health. You get more AD with Atma's Impaler and it also gives some damage. The slow really helps with getting you and your teammates kills and this is the time when you really become a CC:ing tank.
Sunfire Cape is a really good item on Renekton because it gives you armor and health and 35 magic damage per second which stacks really good with your ulti. A really nice item that you could buy before Atma's Impaler if you're going only for tank Renekton.
Wit's End I'm a bit unsure about this item. You could get this for a bit more damage because it stacks so good with your stun. But if you want to go even more tanky you should buy Force of Nature instead.
Items you could buy
Guardian Angel It's a really good item for you! But not for your teammates ... When you play tank you want everyone to target you but when you have Guardian Angel up no one is going to target you and then the carrys get targeted instead. Good item, but not recommended to get in every case.
The Bloodthirster It's a good item but not really worth it when you're going tank. But not so tanky Renekton is The Bloodthirster a good item.
Infinity Edge This item gives so much attack damage and critical damage bonus to 250%. But, it's so expensive. It gives you alot of damage and this combined with Atma's Impaler will give you the damage you need. I don't buy this item only because I play tank Renekton but for more AD Renekton Infinity Edge, and The Bloodthirster it's a hell of a good choice to buy.
Last Whisper Great item with that armor penetration. But I do not see the point to have this item on a tank, such waste.
Quicksilver Sash This is a great item that is so underrated but it seems a little bit of waste on Renekton since you have 45% tenacity. But versus a Malzahar this item is the best you could get or if those CC:s keep getting you killed.
Youmuu's Ghostblade Good item for more AD Renekton but otherwise it's a waste of space and money since you don't basic attack so much with Renekton it's almost only your spells you use. This item has a good active though, but still not worth it.
Warmog's Armor Gives you lot of health, but that's all it gives. Works great with Atma's Impaler but I think Frozen Mallet suits Renekton better to be the tanky CC king.
Thornmail Only good versus alot of AD champions otherwise it's just waste of money because it doesn't give anything except the armor and the damage dealt back.
Wriggle's Lantern Gives good lifesteal and damage and armor great item for Renekton I just don't buy it so often because it slows up the rest of the build. Otherwise a GREAT item for Renekton.
The Black Cleaver I don't think this item is so good. Last whisper is better to get than this item so this is not worth it to get.
Randuin's Omen This is a good item and it's really good in teamfights if you use it you slow everybody down. It also gives health reg, health and armor. Good item that you can get I just don't think it fits for this build. But I still recommend this item maybe as a replacement for Sunfire Cape?
Ionian Boots of Lucidity Why would you like to have this? It's a bit cheaper than Mercury's Treads and it gives cooldown reduction but the tenacity is so much more worth it. If you have not tried it out on Renekton please do it now then. I don't think this is a bad choice, I'm just saying that there are better choices.
Items NOT to get
Phantom Dancer I do not see any purpose to have this on Renekton. Maybe for full AD but still, NO.
Madred's Bloodrazor This item give nice damage, attack speed and a passive that deals tons of damage, BUT IT'S SO EXPENSIVE. Better get an Atma's Impaler, brb.
Trinity Force It gives some nice stats but it give you unneccessary ability power and mana and it's the most expensive item in the whole game. If you'll get this you'll fall so far behind and when you finally get it your opponents will be to fed for you to do anything, at all.
Manamune Yeah, this is selfexplanatory why it's such a bad idea ...
Something happened to this ... It worked very good for a while but then this happened. I will try and fix it but for now it will look a bit weird. If you know how to fix it please leave a comment below.

Skills and How to Use Them
This is Renektons passive and it gives you fury every time you deal damage to a minion or a champion. When you have below 50% health you gain fury 50% faster and when you have 50 fury your next ability will deal bonus damage.
This is the skill that you're going to max out at level 9. It gives you great sustain with the heal from it and it also deals alot of damage. Best to max if you want to survive in your lane and still dealing much damage. This ability makes Renekton swing his blade around him and heal himself for 5%(10% with 50 fury) and deals 180+(0.8 bonus attack damage) or 270+(1.2 bonus attack damage) with 50 fury(on level 5).
You're going to max out this skill second for lots of damage and cooldown reduction. If you're going for full damage this could be worth to max at level 9.This ability stuns the enemy for 0.75(1.5 with 50 fury) seconds and dealing damage based on if you have over 50 fury or not.
This is the last skill you're going to max out since the damage is not so high but this is the ability that makes your other abilities good. This ability makes Renekton dash forward dealing damage and if he hits an enemy he can use dice and charge again in 4 seconds and with 50 fury dice lowers the enemys armor by 25%.
This is Renektons ultimate and it's just so good. It gives you health, it regenerates fury and making damage to everyone who are around him. When you have this ult up you'll be so dangerous, you get 50 fury so quick so your damage on all abilities are almost the double from the fury bonus. The damage around him + Sunfire Cape is insane. On level 3 ulti 100 + 35 - resist (on champions with no bought magic resist) = around 100 damage every second to everybody around him.
How to use your abilities the right way
When you're in your lane you can't reach with your Cull the Meek or Ruthless Predator so you need to use the Slice and Dice to get to them. First you dash through minions (if possible just one so you don't push to much) use ruthless predator on the other champion and then [[cull of the meek and then jump out with the other Slice and Dice. There you got some free damage and even heal from Cull the Meek. But be careful, when you do it a jungler may be on his way to gank you so if you feal threatened just use your Cull the Meek and jump back so you save your stun for the jungler if he appears. That's the most important and safest skill combo. Here's a bit shorter explanation.

In teamfights your main targets are the ad carry and the ap carry, and to protect your carrys of course. With Renekton it's really easy to get to the carrys and stun them because of the Slice and Dice ability. You should use ult, charge in and stun the carry and then just tank the **** out of them while dealing tons of damage and preventing your carrys to be killed. You should always be the one tanking ( unless you have low health or if you have like a Malphite or Alistar in your team ) and never back away when your team wants to kill the others. It's more important that your carrys survive than if you do( unless they suck ).
It's really important that you always try and get a stun on the enemys with low health. If you stun an enemy with much health, armor and resist you're gonna make your team focus the wrong people. So always try to avoid stunning the tanks, 'cause that is what they want. They want you to use your abilities on them, so don't let them have it their way. But if you're really fed and you know you're gonna take that tank out before the others arrive.
Solo Laning versus Different Champions
When solo laning you need to play very careful when you're above river and if you do not have a ward. You should always play safely before you get a ward because solo lane is the number one priority for junglers to gank. And when you have a ward still remember to push to far. But if you take down all the minions in one wave so they die by the turret you can return back or go for a gank because you lose no expericience if your minions die when you're not around.
Wukong His damage in early game his damage is no high. His Nimbus Strike + Crushing Blow is crazy damage and when he uses Decoy you can't deal any damage back to him. This is one of your harder champs to face in top lane. You need to be very passive against him.
Nasus This is one of your easiest champions to face in solo top as I see it. Atleast in early game. When laning against him play aggressively but still not tanking unneccesary minions 'cause you'll end up taking more damage than he did when using your skill combo. Nasus is very weak early game so just try and don't let him farm and this lane will be yours. But you may need a gank to kill him so try to get the jungler to your lane.
Irelia She's been nerfed so she's not such a big threat anymore. She's really annoying and all that tenacity makes her such a pain in the ***. Not the hardest to meet but probably one of the most annoying. But just don't feed Irelia. A fed Irelia can win games for you, so never, never, never feed Irelia.
Olaf He's a champion with so much sustain and health aswell as damage and harass so he will be a hard encounter. Just play safely jumping in doing some damage and jump out. Olaf's only CC is the axe and the only thing he can do with that is chase you down, so don't push to far! When Olaf reaches lvl 6 you can't really stun him anymore (if he uses ultimate) so play very careful from here on and hope he turretdives you so you can use your ultimate.
Vladimir To face this one is just, not funny... He uses Transfusion on you all the time and every time you get close to him he uses Sanguine Pool and runs away. I think this isn't such a hard lane to be in, but to get minion kills could be very hard since you're a melee champion.
Jarvan IV His damage with his passive is just sick and he can harass you very often with his ''Q'' but if you manage to get lots of minion kills and a gank you could win over him not very hard.
Warwick He's very hard to face 'cause of all that lifesteal but if you get a gank he will be an easy kill for you.
Cho'Gath His sustain with his passive is just insane, every minion kill he gains like 40 health and 10 mana and that's much. He doesn't deal so much damage except from Feast but his Rupture makes ganks very easy.
Garen Very annoying with his passive that gives him so much health regeneration after not being attacked for a while. So try and Slice and Dice and then use Cull the Meek to get that heal off. Otherwise his health bar will be full again very soon.
Jax This should be kinda easy 'cause Jax is weak after they patched him. You should be able to take him down, BUT NOT IN A 1V1. Jax is the ultimate 1v1 champ so never do that unless you have a clear advantage.
Volibear This could be really hard because Volibear is such a strong champion and that passive makes it almost impossible to kill him with Renekton because of you lack of burst damage. His damage is really high to. Dat Bite.
Yorick Yorick is one of the best solo laners in the game. His healing ghost is just sick and if you meet him in lane you just need to play carefully. In late game he's not really that good but his ultimate on a carry is just GG GUYS.
Shen Since the buff on Shen he became crazy and the heal from the Ki Burst + his passive damage makes his sustain high and his damage even higher. And that ultimate isn't good for the solo lane. But for the team it's the best you can get.
Riven Wait for her to use her abilities and then jump in and do some damage and quickly jump out again. She's a strong and damage dealing solo laner without mana just like you!
Lee Sin No doubts here, a very strong solo laner that will kick your *** if you let him hit you with his ''Q'' all the time. So juke him as much as you can, without the ''Q'' Lee Sin is nothing.
Gangplank Mostly annoying. If you get close to him you take him down easily but he has those oranges. Tricky lane.
Dr. Mundo To face Dr. Mundo is always staying behind the minions, because if you go in front of them he will throw his Infected Cleaver on you and it deals tons of damage. When he reaches level 6 he's almost unkillable so get your jungler up there before Dr. Mundo reaches level 6 and you will have a clear advantage.
Renekton WOW MEETING YOURSELF THIS IS TRULY BASED ON SKILLS, but it can only occur in normal games so I wont go any further into this. But since you know Renekton very well you can use his weaknesses against him and not letting the other one do it.
WardingWarding in solo lane
Red : High priority ward at baron for mid and late game.
Green : First priority wards to prevent ganks and gaining map control.
Yellow : Second priority wards to prevent ganks and gaining map control.
Warding as a jungler
Warding when jungling
Red : Wards for counter jungling.
Green : First priority wards to protect your jungle and prevent ganks.
Yellow : Wards to protect your buffs.
Jungling with Renekton is only recommended in normal games since he's not the fastest nor the strongest jungler and there are better junglers in the game.
When I play jungle Renekton I usually want to clear the whole jungle first and then go for lots of ganks. Starting at wolfs, then taking blue buff(only needed first time for XP after that letting your mid take it) going for wraiths and red buff (you need Smite ready for this) and then taking dual golems.
Wolfs > Blue Buff > Wraiths > Red Buff > Dual Golems > Gank
Wolfs > Blue Buff > Wraiths > Gank Mid > Red Buff > Dual Golems > Gank
Wolfs > Blue Buff > Gank bot or top > Wraiths > Gank Mid > Red buff > Dual Golems
You could also start at Dual golems, Blue buff or Wraiths.
