Introduction

Hi guys, this I'm internettrol (A munchkin reference, i hate trolls), and this is my Anti-MR Soraka build.

Right now it's not even close to a full soraka guide, so if you are new to soraka, DON'T TRY THIS. First get used to her skills with halipupu's build, found here.

While in the future in plan to incorporate all things in my build, right now the primary goals is to show this to the rest of the LoL community, to get some views from different angles.

I would also like to point out that this is an occasional build, don't play it every game!!!

The Birth of a Build

I used to play soraka as any other support, stacking aura's and wards, while having next to no Ap. Then came the patch where she could no longer replenish her own mana with Infuse while Starcall was dramatically improved. I quickly found out that when playing the standard support Soraka wasnt no longer as good as it used to be, so i tried building ap (even thou her Astral Blessing scales worse these days) and found that while your supporting abilities are still average, u can really put on the hurt (especially during teamfights). Because her Starcall is easily spammable, and reduces magic resist, you can really put on the hurt. But even with my Rabadon's Deathcap and Archangel's Staff I wasnt doing enough damage quickly. In the teamfights that lasted half an hour, i was making penta's but a fight rarely lasts that long...

Then came the realisation, when you spam a skill every 1.5 sec, Lich Bane is pretty powerfull.. Malady was a natural addition then, because its ability to reduce an opponents magic resist even further so it has great synergy with Starcall. After moving around a bit, I found that while you still don't do damage like a Veigar, opponents usually have a negative MR after 5 secs of fighting. So when u have a buddy like Vladimir, spamming his Tides of Blood, you can imagine that opponents don't stand a chance.

How it Works

By quickly reducing an opponents MR to 0 or even below, u can greatly increase the effectiveness of friendly mages. So while you don't directly buff your allies using aura's or skills like most supports, you actually greatly increase their DPS.

Some things you should take in consideration when choosing this build:
- Don't do it if all your carries are AD (dûh)
- Make sure opponents buy the Abyssal Mask over the Void Staff
- Communicate with your team about how it works
- Don't forget you are still a Soraka, so don't forget to use your heals every now and then.. ;)

Laning partners

Even damage orientated Soraka's are still supports, so you will need to duo-lane.
This build works best with an ally doing magic damage. So good lane partners are:

Vladimir
Ezreal
Akali
AP- Jax
AP- Master Yi

All Ap-mids work well as laning partners, this of course requires the ad carry to go mid. The reason i play this build usually is a Caitlyn saying is is mid, so i have a Brand to support.
