Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
There are few dwellers, let alone champions, residing in the blasted and dangerous lands that lie south of the Great Barrier. Much of that world still bears the scars of past Runes Wars, especially the mysterious ***ungu Jungle. There are long-forgotten treasures in these strange places which many risk life and limb to acquire. The champion known as Nidalee was only a young girl travelling with her treasure-seeking parents when they lost their way in the dense, rainy jungles. The jungle was unforgiving, and she watched her parents suffer agonizing final days as they fell victim to a mysterious and vicious disease.
As improbable as it was for a child to survive in the inhospitable jungle by herself, she did just that. Her youthful innocence and a fortunate naivete caused her to appeal to the beasts of that place and she was taken in by a family of cougars and raised as one of their own. She grew and somehow absorbed the raw magic of the dense wilds, evolving beyond both her human physiology and her feline affectation. On one pivotal day in her life, standing over the torn remnants of a Noxian squad of woodcutters, Nidalee chose to rejoin the so-called civilized world, to fight in the League of Legends so as to protect the vast woods from both Demacia and Noxus.
Nidalee was taught to fight by her feline family, battling viciously with tooth and nail. Something in her feline ways may draw you to her, but remember that she is no pussycat.
I've been playing Nidalee for few weeks now and i like it. It's most fun character in League Of Legends as i think. This is my first guide so don't be too tough.
Great Mark Of Insight - You gonna need that extra magic penetration.
Great Glyph Of Force andGreat Quint Of Potency - AP char needs Ability Power.
Great Seal Of Resilince - So u won't die every time u're in battle.
I go 9 - 0 - 21 on Masteries = Archaich Knowledge is a great boost for your AP and Spear Toss in general. Presence Of The Master Is allways helpful.
Nidalee is extremely effective at killing things 1v1 or even 2v1. with the extra damage and level advantage Nidalee can be quite effective at getting kills as soon as she hits level 6 if she has been harassing her enemy and last hitting properly. On a side note, the other reason i went for utility instead of defense is because after Nidalee's healing nerf she needs blue buff as long as possible to be able to spam heals, traps and spears.
I like Morello's Evil Tome more than Doran's Ring couse of the bonus AP and Mana Regen.
Can be changed todepends of your playing style and your enemies. If there are bunch of enemies with debuffs and stuns go for the Mercury's Treads if not take Sorcerer's Shoes.
Will make it easyer to take enemy turrets down. U can combine it with Takedown ability (in cougar form) to take em down extra fast. Also it helps farming.
I think there is no need to explain why we take Death Cap.
Will help u survive most of team battles and helps with its UNIQUE passive to ignore one negative spell every 45 sec. (Helps a lot).
So here we are with the Void Staff at the moment when enemyes dont even dare to come closer you couse u just eat em allive >.<
I've tested a lot of different builds and this is what i use most of the time. U must remember, if u cant handle the spear u wont be successful. Remember : Spear > Cougar > Kill!
Passive. - Prowl - Prowl is a great innate that allows Nidalee to move faster while in brush. This is very effective for chasing/escaping.
Q - Javelin Toss/Takedown - in human form, Javelin Toss will do some damage(this build is for a ad nid not for a ap nid), in cougar form, Takedown our main attack you will do tons of damage.
W - Bushwhack/Pounce - in human form, you drop a trap and if someone runs over it, you will gain vision of them, and they will take some Magic Damage,
Dont works whit wards - teemo shrooms, in cougar form, nidale leap forward whit a low CD
and do some magic AoE damage, nice for farming.
E - Primal Surge/Swipe - in human form, you will heal someone for an X amount, + a percentage of your Ability Power. Healing someone will also increase their attack speed. This spell is great for helping low allies, and giving attack speed, in cougar form, do a small AoE magic Damage, great for farming.
R - Aspect of the Cougar - Nidalee turns into a cougar gaining some buffs, and it allows her to use her second set of spells.
Primal Surge. No more need be said. However i might as well go on since i'm making a guide anyway. Not only does this skill heal champions within nidalees range, it has a decent cooldown, and also gives an attack speed buff. What this means is that in a team fight, if there is a Hard carry AD on your team, and he/she is in the fray of battle, pop primal surge on them (even if they may be full health, depending on how the team battle is going and who is being focused) and BAM, that champion is suddenly incredibly untouchable. For instance, a Vayne who is in the back doing DPS and isn't being damaged too bad, can now wipe out a whole team in an incredibly short amount of time procing a huge amount of damage with Silver Bolts. thats just one situation, muck around with Primal Surge, it's an incredible spell.
Second priority is to get Javelin Toss, for easy harass. Don't forget that with Javelin Toss the further your enemy is from you at point of impact, the more damage it does. If you know an enemy is in the bush, throw a javelin in there. As long as you don't waste too much mana trying to harass then you can net easy kills.
at level 4 you want to get one point in Bushwhack. this is for two reasons:
1. Since you should be soloing, its a free ward to put on one of the entrances towards you (for instance in top lane if you are Blue team a trap in the river bushes can save you from being ganked)
2: as soon as you hit level 6, you have cougar form, and pounce is available thanks to that one point in bushwhack.
the rest is self explanatory,
- Aspect Of The Cougar comes first as it strenghtens Nidalees cougar abilities and gives her def/ mres in cougar form.
-The next priorty is on Primal Surge for heals/atk speed buff and for Swipes AOE dmg allowing for quick minion kills
-Javelin Toss comes 3rd as its the escaping/harassing skill, and Takedown isnt too bad for hitting enemies at low HP (it does more damage as enemes have less health, so try doing it as the final spell in your chain for maximum damage). Takedown IS AD not AP though, so as the game progresses it will become weaker comparatively versus enemy champions.
-Bushwhack Comes last, as although higher levels of Pounce are nice to have, the spear does more damage than pounce, so spear is better to have earlier.
I used to start with Ghost and Heal but i noticed that something is missing i needed a way to catch up with others faster or run away in a moment so i stopped on FLASH.
Good Summoner Spells for Nidalee:
Flash - most versatile spell in the game, nidalee becomes an escape artist with Pounce and Flash, plus Prowl allows her to escape nearly any situation.
Ghost - similar to Flash, good for chasing and escaping
Ignite - free AP from masteries (recommended if you run ignite)
Exhaust - Since Nidalee is good at chasing, Exhaust can play a big part by reducing the enemy champions Mres and also prevents escape from Nidalee and teammates.
Clairvoyance - Free Vision. who doesn't like that?
Bad Summoner Spells for Nidalee:
Smite - Seriously? jungle nidalee?
Heal - you have a spell for that. you don't need another one.
Revive - You have points in Good Hands for a reason. on a side note you shouldn't be dying much as Nidalee anyway.
Fortify - Unless you are doing some tricky stuff with Exhaust/Fortify for kills, you shouldnt take fortify as Nidalee.
Yourself => Tank => Biggest killing spree ally => everyone else...
team fights: heal and chuck spears, this is what nidalee does (more spears than heals nowadays) only go into couger form to chase down fleeing carries, then get back to healing and chucking spears at the main fight.
1v1: nidalee can kite like a boss, use pounce, spear, to get away and harass them, remember your passive, use it to escape, initiate, and kite as well.
Before you start Teamfight check if you have a bluebuff. Nidalee have one of the strongest lategame-heals her Primal Surge / Swipe can heal to 1000health. If you have a bluebuff so you can spam your heal so your team cant be harrased so you have an very good chance to harras them with your Javelin Toss / Takedown. If you harras them enough so say to your tank he should engage and you jump after him as cat.
Heal priority: 1. Yourself 2. Tank and Carry 3. Largest Killing Spree 4. Everyone else
If you are able to rush a fast Rabadon's Deathcap with AP Nidalee, you can grab bluebuff and tell your team to gather mid. Make sure your spear is level 4-5 before attempting. A fast death cap and blue buff bring incredible poke control abuse it.
Farming is really easy with nidalee couse u haveBushwack andPrimal Surge u can stay on lanes for a long time and cause a lot of trouble besides when u get your cougar form u wont use mana at all and push your minions further.
Go For The Blue Buff
If you have the opportunity to get yourself an early game Blue Buff then you must. Communicate with your team to establish weather another champion needs it more, and its not quite possible with a Jungler as you will destroy your own jungle route. If they have a Jungler and you are playing a Ranked Match then it is not the best idea to head off alone to their jungle. As they may be waiting to protect their Jungler, and you will find yourself amongst 5 of them. Blue buff should be used for you to ward everywhere. Bushwhacks should be placed almost without question when off Cool Down if you have Blue Buff. This mass use of Bushwhack means that you are using the full potential of the massive Manna Regen and the map becomes greatly warded, so you are able to understand the enemies movement patterns and establish the Bot should run for their life right now
You can see movement on the whole map if you place your traps accordingly. They are green so they are VERY hard to see if placed in a bush. You can put as many traps as you like so here are some key locations:
BARON: Fill up the whole entrance to the baron with traps so if the enemies by any chance see them they cant avoid them.
DRAGON: It's never bad to gank the jungler... Plus the dragon gives all the killer's teammates 190 gold + 25 gold to the killer.
AROUND THE JUNGLE: Spam you traps!!! Don't be afraid to leave your lane to place them. Controlling movement on the map CAN SAVE YOUR AND YOUR TEAM'S LIFE. You can prevent ganks this way and counter-gank the enemies one by one. Also, knowing where your enemies are and when, can win you the whole game.
While in each lane there are two approaches. For Top and Bottom there is 2, and Mid has 2 more. When lanning on the border lanes you will want to avoid pushing and only make attacks against minions when they are on low enough health to guarantee the kill to you. As a general rule it is important to allow champions with unlimited farmable abilities to have as man last hits as possible, ie Veigar. If you are Lanning with a champion who needs last hits for a passive, the best way to know is to look at all the champions and their abilities (which will halp you play better) , and only make last hits when either they have died or recalled, or if they have just used the ability to kill a minion or failed to kill one. Communicate and ask your Lannign partner how long the Cool Down is on their ability, then try and accomidate the Cool Down into your Last Hitting schedual so that they are able to effectively farm up their passive. The second tactic is to remain very aggressive to the enemy champions while last hitting with your Lanning partner. The idea is to sit back and heal your ally as they jump in and out of the bush
Pros / Cons
-Is very mobile
-Can scout early in game with bushwhacks
-Will dominate most lanes
-Is a good chaser
-Great damage and range with spears
-Is a carry so she's squishy
-Is easily dead when crowd controlled.
-Will get most of the attention of the other teams
-Can't really do much without a blue buff
-It's very hard to play with Nidalee, It takes a lot of time and practic
Nidalee is a really fun character, so enjoy the time playing. If u do everything right with lanes and spears it will be a success.
