Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
WOW, THANKS TO The_Nameless_Bard for this awesome banner!!
This is Janitsu's Nidalee guide. I've played in ranked with Nidalee, and won 87% of games. I can say, you have to learn skillshotting, before even try to go hardcore harasser. Nidalee is great AP harasser. Her Javelin throw will deal over 1000 dmg with this build. And you can get magic minion when your spear is lvl 4. I see many people play Nidalee as SUPPORT!!! It doesn't reveal the real power of spear. AD Nidalee is viable, and does a huge amount of damage. Still I can't see many people to play her as AD. I will add my AD guide here sooner or later. But it will be here if I get higher score. But without any longer speech, I'll introduce my:
Nidalee - Spear of Justice build.
Pros / Cons
Late game heal
Mana hungry early
Without Rabadon's Deathcap, you don't deal so much dmg
Without Aspect Of The Cougar you can't escape
Hard to hit with spears
Viable summoner spells:
You maybe take these:
I usually take Flash and Ignite, because Nidalee is very good at escaping and chasing then, but don't be so sure about that you don'r get CC'd.
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Seal of Mana
Greater Glyph of Mana Regeneration
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
Greater Quintessence of Mana Regeneration
Greater Glyph of Replenishment
Greater Quintessence of Replenishment
I use these runes for Mana regen, and damage. These runes are very good, because Nidalee uses much mana. With these you can stay at lane so long that you can get Needlessly long rod, for Rabadon's. With these runes, you will be unstoppable :)))))
I use these masteries because those are awesome. CDR, Magic pen, AP !!!
And from utility you get movement speed, and revive time is shortened and ofc you get more exp.
If you play AD Nidalee (guide added soon) you should go 21/9/0 or 21/0/9
I mostly play with this build, but I can chance the early Rabadon's Deathcap to Tear of Goddess. With Tear of Goddess, you will counter your mana problems pretty well, and you get free stacks for it, when you are a hot Cougar!!
Of course, you will have always mana problems, unless you get the blue buff often. Don't let stupid Lee get blue, go steal it. Or maybe you just ask "Can I get it?" so Lee doesn't ragequit.
For boots you can take:
You do want to take Mercury's Treads, if they have high CC or more than 3 of them deals magic damage. And you can take Ionian Boots of Lucidity, if you want to spam more your abilities and have more traps. But I still recommend to take Sorcerer's Shoes for da pro MrPen.
Alternative for hextech:
Hextech Gunblade is pretty awesome item for Nidalee. But, if they have much AP or you are lacking mana or health, OR they have someone like Karthusin their team, Banshee's Veil is just AWESOME. If you just want the hralth, buy Warmog's Armor, and if you don't want to have AD and lifesteal from Hextech Gunblade take Will of the Ancients which is awesome item aswell.
Alternative for Rylai's Crystal Sceptre:
Rylai's Crystal Scepter is nice hp bonus and AP. And slow is also good. But here are some alternative explanations. Warmog's Armor is nice, if you want to be more tankier. Abyssal Scepter is kinda like must have item, if they have high MR, and your team doesn't have enough MrPen O___________________________________O
Buy Archangel's Staff ONLY if you bought Tear of the Goddess, unless it will be useless when you buy the whole thing late game ^______________^
AHH, what's more lovely than lvl 9 maxed spear? Yes nothing is. Now, if you really hit with spears, you deal tons of damage, and of course get ks :p Your heal is now pretty awesome, for real. You can heal hundreds right now, so more laning for you. When you have lvl 9 spear, you should have atleast 75 creeps. ATLEAST!!!
You can also max Primal Surge first to be more like a support, but remember, Nidalee ain't no support, she is AP carry, nothing else.
Your farming gets easier, when you get your ult. You just punce on magic minions then swipe, and then finish with AA. This combo will help you in your farm. Of course, your escape is more easier too. Against someone like Teemo, you can first harass with spear, and then go into Hot cougar form, and full combo. Teemo is dead. Did you know that Teemo has secret passive? Everyone wants to hit him. Really. Seriously. KILL THAT *****!!!
Nidalee has special and unique skills. She can escape and chase. She can harass. She can heal. She can deal huge AoE dmg. She can jump over walls
Here is a map where you can see how to jump over walls:
Where to put traps:
- She is one of two champions that has access to 7 different Active Abilities, the other being Lee Sin.
- Nidalee, along with Kayle, are the only champions to be both ranged and melee.
- Nidalee is one of a few champions to have multiple textures in one skin. One for her human form, and another for her cougar form to match.
- Nidalee was designed by Brackhar.
- Before her release Nidalee was rumored to have a special stackable DOT that could be applied by all her damaging abilities and her passive provided 2 seconds of stealth when leaving brush in cougar form. It was removed prior to her release.
- Nidalee used to be the only champion to have any ability put on a static cooldown.
- Specifically, the capped spell is her Cougar Form's Pounce. This was removed in patch V188.8.131.52.
- Nidalee is the only champion with a ranged auto-attack to have a base magic resistance per level.
- Nidalee has 4 forms of running: Her default human form run, her default cougar form run, her human form-bush sprint, and lastly her cougar form-bush sprint.
- Nidalee is one of the few champions to have an extra set of /command animations. When in cougar form, she changes her /taunt, /laugh, and /dance animations. (though there is no voice change).
- After her experience of standing over the torn remnants of a Noxian squad of woodcutters, Nidalee chose to fight in the League of Legends in order to protect the vast jungle from both Demacia and Noxus.
Creeping / Jungling
This is kinda like bonus :p
It doesnt work very well, because Nidalee has a rly strong Laning Ability, but if you want to try:
I use for masteries 0/21/9, getting all the necessary Resistance.
For runes go for attackdamage(red), health(quints), armor(yellow) and attackspeed(blue)
it could to impossivle to do without masteries and runes, so its quite risky to spent you IP for these Runes.
Start with 5 red potions and an red elixir:
Using your potions why ou get hitted by an Creep
Start at the two Golems, skilling your E and finishing the first one with smite
After reaching lvl 2 Skill your Trap and go for the blue golem: Decrease the golems def with your trap and keep you heal/attackspeed up
Keep in mind you have to smite the Golem to kill him at lvl 2, so might wanna wait some seconds before starting: its hard in the beginning but once you archieve it, it should be easy.
Keep in mind at this Point you need to use heal as much as possible, the blue buff should give you enough mana regen at this point.
Get the wolfs and gain lvl 3, skilling you heal(E). trap and smite the lizard (red buff) till he drops. Kill the respawned Golems again and Get the wraiths afterwards.
If enough Health left, finish the wolves.
Now you go back to your Base and start your Item build(which ever you prefer).
Go for lvl 6, starting at 6:30 at the two golems again.
Optionally, you can go to the enemy Jungle - Beware if someone missing.
Once you hit lvl 6+, you should be ready for dragon. After Dragon you should start to support Your Team.
PS: There are plenty of Nidalee Jungling Tutorials on Youtube - I never going to jungle with Nidalee, so rely more on the Videos or other Guides - you work much better on Lane.
12/02/2012 - Added change log, edited items, and some texts and some typos are now corrected.
Nidalee is overall so *****y enemy. You don't want to face her in ranked. So this is what you do:
1. PICK HER
2. LOCK HER
3. OWN WITH HER
4. WIN WITH HER
This is simple way to play Nidalee. And whatever you do, DON'T PLAY HER AS A SUPPORT!!!
(or maybe you can if you need one, NOPE CHUCK TESTA)
So, Good Luck summoners, and kill one Teemo for me.
