Introduction

Hi, I'm tryhard lane from the EUNE Server, I'm not the best Riven around, but I hope this will cover up the basics and help you out. Here's my op.gg, as you can see, I'm a lowly Silver 1, so please give this guide a chance if you're just starting to learn Riven.

The fact that Riven is a mechanically hard champion is something great to think about. You can outplay with her, but it would take practice and proper timing. People think that Riven is an easy champion; yes, she's easy to use, but hard to use mechanically, as I have said.

Please note that this is an amateur guide and just covers up the basic things for playing . :)

Things A Riven Should Have

Items

Item Sequence

Youmuu's Ghostblade
2900

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
900

Ravenous Hydra
3500

Guardian Angel
2400

Maw of Malmortius
3250
The Black Cleaver link/icon seems to be broken

These are the items you usually should have, implying that you'd win your lane without much hassle. Provides the required damage, defense and the CDR you should need to survive throughout the game.
Item Sequence

Titanic Hydra
3500

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
900

Sterak's Gage
2600

Guardian Angel
2400

Maw of Malmortius
3250

This is the "I lost lane" build, implying that you can catch up. You have a second life and the armor given by Guardian Angel and Sterak's Gage; Maw is great for magic resist, too. :)
Item Sequence

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
900

Titanic Hydra
3500

Guardian Angel
2400

Dead Man's Plate
2900

Locket of the Iron Solari
2200

This is the "I fed" build where you get to really late game and get your full build. Here, you'll act as a engage with Q3 and W and slash through the enemy backline while helping your teammates.

Masteries

Unfortunately, the mastery ones seems to be bugging, so I can't put it here but I'll give a brief summary.

You would want to take Thunderlords for quick and the burst; but Fervor is better against tanks such as Darius and taking Armor Penetration with it.
