The earliest account of Swain's existence comes from a Noxian infirmary doctor's notes. According to them, Swain limped into the ward without cry or complaint; his right leg was snapped in half, with bone protruding from the skin. A small, scowling bird seemed affixed to his shoulder. The doctor gawked in horror as the young adolescent answered questions about his health and age with a calm, even stare. Even behind the echoing crack as the sand counterweights reset his tibia, Swain's measuring gaze never flickered, nor did his eyes twitch from the pop of his fibula. He refused the doctor's recommendation of magical treatment for the leg's inoperable damage, requesting only a spare crutch before shuffling away. He next surfaced in documents from the Noxian military, although it is evident that they are incomplete. Normally a crippled boy would be turned away in shame from Noxus' proud legion, but the records indicate his first designation was that of a ranking officer.

The men who've served under him (and survived) have remained in his charge with unshakable faith and loyalty. He leapt through the High Command's hierarchy, often ascending when superiors requested demotions to join his unit. A cunning strategist, Swain was decorated after every battle he fought, regularly hobbling in contemplation at the front of the assault. His rise to power seemed unceasing until he was suddenly relegated to inactive status prior to the Ionian Invasion - a bewildering decision which reeked of bureaucratic subversion. If Swain was upset by the events which unfolded, he never belied it. His face was so implacable that it was popularly rumored to be a mask, disguising something utterly inhuman beneath. More controversy surrounded the bird that never left his shoulder, whose name he whispered only to it. When Demacia escalated its presence in the League, Swain was immediately returned to active duty.

first off guys let me tell you that i love swain. when i first seen his ult i though i jezzed in my pants a little, who would though of having an ult that can take out a huge waves of minions and heal would be so good. i think that swain's ult is very different from the other champions would you think so?.

ok enough about why i like swain on to the main topic the build ive made, you peoples out there are thinking "why not get mejai's soul stealer" reason why, i hate it like with the fire of a thousand suns. think about it. what where too happen if dont know you where stuck on a bad team and you can use the mejais soul stealer because your not getting any kills with it then what do you do you got no ap because your whole build was all dependent of the mejai's soul stealer so if you cant get a kill then your back to square one trying to sell you mejai's and good for a better item.

Mejai's Soulstealer

+20 Ability Power UNIQUE Passive: Your champion gains 8 ability power per stack, receiving 2 stacks for a kill or 1 stack for an assist. This effect can stack 20 times; you lose a third of your stacks if you die. At 20 stacks, your champion's cooldowns are reduced by 15%

Rod of Ages

+450 Health +525 Mana +60 Ability Power Passive: Your Champion gains 18 Health, 20 Mana, and 2 Ability Power every 1 min. Bonuses cap at +180 Health, +200 Mana, and +20 Ability Power.

ok too the peoples thats seen the rod of ages in my build the resone why get the item is the swain is too squish of a champion so getting the rod of ages will double in stacks with in ten mins and it works great with his ult

Boots of Swiftness

UNIQUE Passive:+20 Magic Penetration UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 2

these shoes help give him the boost he needs for the dmg

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

+500 Health +80 Ability Power UNIQUE Passive: Dealing spell damage slows the target's Movement Speed by 35% for 1.5 seconds (15% for multi-target and damage-over-time spells).

well as i said the scepter help out in team fights and also give your more heath

Archangel's Staff

+400 Mana +25 Mana Regen per 5 sec +45 Ability Power Passive: 3% of your Max Mana is converted to Ability Power. UNIQUE Passive: Each time your Champion uses an Ability their Maximum Mana will increase by 4 Mana. This effect has a 3 second cooldown. Bonus caps at 1000 mana.

this item is for the mana and the unigue passive works well with him

Zhonya's Ring

+120 Ability Power UNIQUE Passive: Increases Ability Power by 25% UNIQUE Active: Places your champion into Stasis for 2 seconds, rendering you invulnerable and untargetable but unable to take any actions. 90 sec cooldown.

Lich Bane

+350 Mana +80 Ability Power +30 Magic Resist +7% Movement Speed UNIQUE Passive: 100% chance when an ability is used that your next physical attack deals an additional 100% of your Ability Power in damage. This effect has a 2 second cooldown.

early game with him is kind of hard cus hes kind of squishy
once hes targeted in a team fight his ult cant save him
oh his mana pool even tho with all the mana item's still isnt enough
