Nocturne is a powerful assassin fightER, who excels in 1v1 confrontations and pushing lanes. This guide is based off of a lot of games, with good and bad teams. Basically, while playing this champion, you want to stay away from high burst damage champions, because Nocturne is a squishy, and can get owned. I prefer to not jungle, and lane instead because a skilled player will get more exp and more gold in lane, then in the jungle. For the rest of the guide, I will further explain why I chose these "settings".

FLASH I choose flash every game because it enables easier ganks, makes you extremely hard to pin down, and allowS great mobility through the jungle and in team fights.

EXHAUST Exhaust is good for pretty much any champion, but I feel it helps Nocturne stay in the fight, and take out the enemy carry easily.

Masteries are an obvious choice. They give me tons of damage and mana regeneration, letting me to stay in lane much longer, and gives me that little extra edge on my opponents.

DUSKBRINGER Duskbringer is Nocturne's main skill, and provides damage, mobility, and a nice little nuke. So I make it the first skill I completely max out at LVL.12

SHROUD OF DARKNESS Okay, I'm not saying this is a bad skill, but its his least important skill, I usually just put one point in it at LVL.3 and don't level it up again till LVL.14 and have it maxed at the end, LVL.18

UNSPEAKABLE HORROR This is conjunction with Duskbringer, allows easy smooth ganks and is Nocturne's ONLY disable.

PARANOIA Not much to say about this skill really. Its just AMAZING. Like every other champion in the game, level this up whenever possible.

Much like my masteries, these somewhat cheap runes, help out A LOT and provide a BUNCH of health and extra damage/mana regeneration.

BERSERKER'S GREAVES I choose these boots because they provide that extra little attack speed that just might save you in a pinch.

BANSHEE'S VEIL I choose Banshee's because it provides ANOTHER spell shield, making you a pain in the -you know what- to casters, and also gives health/mana.

THE BLOODTHIRSTER I choose Bloodthirster because it gives a lot of damage, lifesteal, and is an all around amazing item for any carry.

FROZEN MALLET I choose Frozen Mallet because it has a very powerful slow on hit ability, it gives me a lot of health and also has a little bit of damage to it.

YOUMUU'S GHOSTBLADE Well, it's kind of obvious why I picked this, it gives an active speed/attack speed buff, it gives you damage, it gives you crit chance, it gives you armor penetration, it gives you movement speed, and it also gives you attack speed... wow thats an amazing item.

INFINITY EDGE Pretty much any game that lasts this long, is coming to a close, but with this in hand, you can kill ANYTHING!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
