Story

Before Nocturne, people believed that dreams were figments of their imagination, meaningless images that flashed through the mind when one slept. This belief was put to the test when a rash of sleep-related incidents started afflicting summoners of the League. Some would wake up screaming, terrified and beyond consolation. Some could not fall asleep, slowly going mad as the nights ticked by. Some simply never woke up. Physicians were baffled until a Field Architect happened to pass out next to a nexus on Twisted Treeline. Witnesses said he cried out once and then stopped breathing. Immediately after, magical energy arced out from the nexus, and Nocturne appeared.

Nocturne did not take his introduction to this world kindly. He slaughtered everything he could find before summoners were able to magically confine him. After a period of intense study, League experts divined that Nocturne hunted summoners in their sleep, attacking them in a place where their magic was useless. This seemed to be his only purpose. The families of the victims demanded justice, but League officials were concerned that death might only return Nocturne to the place from which he came. They bound him to a nexus fragment, trapping him in the physical world. As punishment for his crimes, they allowed summoners to call upon Nocturne in the League matches, bending his will to the summoners he hates and creating his own personal nightmare. League scholars don't know whether he truly came from the plane of dreams, or whether there are any more like him. Some theorize that the summoning act affected summoners' subconscious minds, luring Nocturne to them in their sleep. Perhaps the most disturbing theory is that Nocturne is a person's nightmare come to life. If this is true, they wonder, who is the dreamer?

Introduction

So, Nocturne is a very powerfull ganker as you all might know. To get the best possible start you start of with Doran's Shield for the good health and armor bonus. With this item and your passive abillity you should be able to stay in the lane for a very long time. You might even get a few kills, but don't do anything stupid. The key to becoming a good ganker lays in the first 10 minutes.

When you feel ready to go back to base you should have enough gold to grab both Berserker's Greaves and The Brutalizer . Now you could start getting the kills. But still be carefull. Dying alot in early/mid-game will result in you sacking behind in levels and gold. So, STAY ALIVE!

As soon as possible you should head back and grab Youmuu's Ghostblade. This item are made for Nocturne. It gives you everything you need! And don't forget the active!!

So the game moves on and you are now getting tons of kills, feel free to make your own pick due to the order of buying the following items. I will list them here in the order that I prefer to buy them: Frozen Mallet, The HEALTH are absolutly needed for Nocturne and the AD are aswell. (The passive slow effect are very usfull when you're chasing down your target.)

Infinity Edge , You can't get enough AD on a champion as Nocturne. MORE DAMAGE = MORE KILLS! Simple math... :)

The Bloodthirster , continue with the Bloodthirster for it's lifesteal and AD. If you rather prefer to buy The Black Cleaver instead it's good to!

In late-game your opponents wont like you... At all. You will have a huge damage dealt in a very short period of time. More about "Ganking" below.

Ganking

You are accually the nightmare for your opponents. Nocturne's abillity to quickly move thru the lanes up and down to gank everything he comes near will put fear into your enemy's. Paranioa will also grant you the possibility to dive onto enemy's with low health who's running away.
With Nocturne and the right knowledge you could pretty much solo who you wants.

I prefer this skill combo when I'm solo vs an enemy:
Duskbringer Great damage and you grant awsome bonuses from your trail.
Quickly after that hit them with Unspeakable Horror and keep up the attack.

By the time the enemy is feared your Duskbringer should be back and ready. Use again!

To prevent stuns, slow and other CC or disable spells from the enemy be prepared to use Shoud of Darkness .

If needed use Paranoia to finish of a running enemy. Don't be afraid to use your ultimate! It doesn't have that high CD and could really save the life of both you and your team-mates.

Team Work!

Team work, team work and team work!!
Yes, that's one of the main things to have a good game on Nocturne. As an melee/assasin you are in great need of your team-mates.
Let them engage the team battles and wait back until they've done the worst tanking and then go in to nuke your enemy's!

Without a good team work it's very hard to play Nocturne. You will be able to pull of a couple of kills but you will soon realize that you are dying ALOT! So keep a good conversation with your team and let them know when you are ready to gank or need help.

Laning bud's

Nocturne are a master of chasing down his opponents. Every other champion with a stun are a good laning partner for Nocturne. Let your partner stun and when the stun goes away be ready to fear them with http://cdn2.mobafire.com/images/ability/nocturne-unspeakable-horror.png .
Allways keeping your opponents on http://cdn2.mobafire.com/images/ability/nocturne-duskbringer.png 's trail will be shown very effective!

Keep in mind that Nocturne isn't a defensive champion and wont stand long against turrent fire or heavy attacks.
If you're trying to play Nocturne as a fronter you will soon see that you are dying like a fly!
