hi im wearevenom, a gold 2 player from the philippines. in this guide i will talk about how i build one of my favorite champions in the league, shaco. i have started playing league of legends at the start of season 4 and shaco is one of the first champs that i came up with.
as shaco, you wanted to clear your first camp immediately for you to be able to run to your enemies jungle and place a jitb and counter your opponents jungle. I picked flat dmg runes for my red and quints since most of my dmg early on would be physical based, flat armor for my yellows, 6 cd reduc for a bit faster cooldown on my 1st skill and 3rd which i would be spamming a lot during the game and a bit magic resist so that i wont get burstd early by ap champs.
my shaco, i can say is a lot different from the usual shaco's you'll see on regular plays. i dont concentrate on making pure dmg. shaco's team play is a little bit a gamble. build him the assassin that he should be, with pure dmg is a one-hit wonder (that is if your opponent is stupid enough to put their selves in an awkward position). but if you somehow encountered those smart players that are pretty aware of what they are doing, you'll find a hard time thinking how you could get to them without being focused. with my shaco's build, i reduced some of shaco's dmg output and increased his survivability by putting both armor, mresist and health into his item build. instead of using ravenous hydra, i put iceborn gauntlet in this build since RH only offers dmg which shaco already has while IG gives a lot more like mana, armor, CD reduc. also using shaco's stealth triggers IG's passive, giving you both additional dmg, a slow-on-hit while retaining the crit of shaco's 1st skill. randuin's omen increases shaco's chance to survive on some sticky situations, boosting his health, adding armor and with the help of omen's active slow. giving you ample time for your 1st skill in case it is on cooldown.
