Hello Summoners this is my second guide. I will show you how I play Nasus with success.
If you follow this guide you will be able to deal over 1000 damage with your Q spell and survive all teamfigths.
With the following setup i got a 15-0-20 score (including two tripple-kills) - it was a normal game on summoner's rift:
In that game i was the tank and the enemy team was AP heavy so i choose that equipment.
I know there are different ways to build Nasus, but I prefer the Offtank Version. I will also add some other options in the "item build" section. At all I think Nasus is not good as a pure Tank because he has no taunt or tank specific ability.
I choose Armor penetratin, Armor, Magic Resist and some Life for runes
this is the rune setup i use but there are also lots of others that work, too
- armor/magic resist per level
- life per level
Nasus drains his foe's spiritual energy, giving him a natural 10/15/20% lifesteal. The lifesteal value increments at levels 1,6, and 11.
Nice passive because he can stay in lane longer and also helps you in teamfigths because you will regenerate faster
Nasus's next attack will deal an additional 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 damage. Siphoning Strike permanently gains 3 damage whenever it kills an enemy.
Cooldown 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 seconds | Cost 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 mana | Range 300
This is your main ability - because it's so important i will say something about it in the laning part
Nasus ages his target, slowing their movement and attack speed by 35% and reducing it further by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% each second for 5 seconds.
Cooldown 15 seconds | Cost 100 mana | Range 700
Did you want to know how slow enemys could be? this shows you the answer: very slow !
and it has a realy long range (longer than caitlyn attack range: 650)
if you fight against any meele/DPS champ it will help you a lot (attack speed reduction)
-> Nasus can kill Tryndamere in a 1on1
After a brief delay, the target area becomes desecrated. Enemies in the area have their armor reduced by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 and are dealt 20 / 34 / 48 / 62 / 76 (+20% of ability power) magic damage each second.
Cooldown 12 seconds | Cost 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130 mana | Range 650
The most important part about it is the armor reduction -> important in teamfigths and ganks. You can also use it for farming
Fury of the Sands
Nasus becomes empowered in the sandstorm for 15 seconds, gaining 300 / 450 / 600 health. While the storm rages, he drains 3 / 4 / 5 (+1% of ability power)% of nearby enemies' health each second (240 damage max per second) and converts it into bonus attack damage.
Cooldown 120 seconds | Cost 150 mana | Range 20
Pretty cool: lots of life + high AoE damage -> it's better than renekton's one (pure brother)
very high AoE damage -> helps a lot in teamfights
Nasus is often underestimated until he uses his ulti with level 6 and gets a double kill
besides the ulit at level 6/11/16, I want to max Siphoning strike first because it's my main damage ability + your cooldown is reduced every level
After that I wanted to max Wither -> slowing the enemies to get a lot of kills
As this is not a magic/tank guide i level up spirit fire the last... the armor reduction helps
My favourite choice:
Good for escaping and chasing against one champion... it will help you for First Blood an everytime you want to focus a specific enemy
You can use it for Chasing the enemies especially in early game when you have no boots yet. It also helps you if you have to escape in early, mid and late game.
Other Options would be:
Helps for escaping enemy champions or any bad ulti like Jarvan's
-> more survivability
if they have a mundo or lifesteel based champ;
maybe you can kill someone with low life running away from you with this skill (works good in early game)
if you play good you won't need it
get a maximum of map control
How to Play
You should get as much last hits with as possible
if you have to fight against a ranged or mage close the gap with
When you have reached level 6 Use plus your E -> Q do get at least one kill + place your where you guess they might go
if you have lost life try to hit as much minions as possible because you will regenerate a lot with your lifesteal
Most important about Nasus: Level up
I can't repeat that often enough because it is your main damage source... i normally have got about 100 Last = 300 bonus damage when i reach late game
Mid game: if you have no jungler try to go into the jungle as often as possible and lasthit as many creeps as possible
1. You are not a tank -> don't initiate a teamfight
but: if your team has no real tank what shouldn't happen you have to do that
2. Focus the enemy carries: mages/ad-carrys
never attack Alistar using his ulti because you will see no result
3. If all the carries are dead chase the Offtanks and Tanks who will try to run away
In teamfigths start with and use and on your
against a squishy enemy 2 times Q + autoattacks should be enough to kill them in about 3 or 4 seconds
be social and help your teammates to deal more damage-> place in the middle of the enemy team -> you will at least get a assist for every enemy
you will hit directly after you have activated tha ability -> use it directly after a autoattack (wou will hit 2 time within 0,5 seconds)
Use this always if you are attacked by any autoattackes because you also reduce the attack speed (don't waste it on olaf with ulti activated)
Why did I take
as starting item?
1. you get enough defensive to fit into my aggressive playstile i told above
2. If you suffer harrasment you will need the regeneration
feel free to use other starting items if you want but i won't recomment any other
These are the items i would recommend on Nasus as a Offtank. If you want to play him as a Offtank please don't use any other items.
I would always recommend this because as a offtank you have to be fast and the enemies can harm you with stuns and slows + the magic resist helps you as a offtank
High movement speed -> Nasus is even a fast champ (325) + a slow - that means if you use this you are fast as hell; BUT: it doesn't really help you as a offtank
Only if the enemies have a lot of DPS champs like Tryndamere or Nocturne (I mean characters who rely on their autoattacks)
As a offtank you will want to do a lot of damage + resist a lot of damage
Lets start with this... the target off Nasus is to nuke down the enemies with your Q spell
-> the unique passive of trinity force will help you to deal a insane amount of damage with your Q
This item is a must have on Nasus... If you want to win with Nasus buy this !
Start always with
it also gives some survivability and solves mana problems
1. It gives you a huge amount of damage -> strong autoattacks
2. With Trinity Force your Q deals damage equal 2,5 X your attack damage -> 250 Bonus Damage for your Q
3. High Lifesteal: As a offtank you want to survive -> Imagine your Q deals 1000 damage - that means you heal yourself for 450 Life
So that's enough about offensive items as you don't need more because you deal enough damage yet
another good choice is maybe one of the best items on offtanks, but I wont use it in my Nasus Build
With Nasus you will want to choose your 3 defensive items wise because you want to max your survivability. The first defensive stat you will want to level is health because it halps you versus AP and AD characters
A lot of life and a offensive slow -> you get more survivability + if you focus one special enemy he won't escape - BUT: this will make one part of your trinity force useless
The best choice for every champion who needs survivability and uses mana for his abilities. I pretty like the spell shield ! Remember that you have mana problems as long as you don#t have blue buff
It's also a good item but I don't realy like it on Nasus as a offtank because you already have enough regeneration with your lifesteal
if you fierce a AD heavy team you should buy this the other option would be thornmail
Also good because you should always be in the middle of the fight -> deal a lot of AoE damage + survive
If the enemy team has more than the half DPS champs
This gives you a lot of survivability + the special effect: the enemies don't want to attack you because you have such a huge amount of life -> you can kill them one after the other without problems
I personally don#t like snowball Items... but: if you get a lot of kills this will work and improve your survivability - the passive with 20 stacks is awesome - maybe not the best item on Nasus
is a good item but i don't like it
If you are focused a lot (might happen because you kill the enemies so often that they will hate you) You can also try to make a granade build plus this - but as this is a offtank build you will not really need this.
Feel free to combine the Items above as you want... but keep in mind: boots + core + 3 defensive items
Against a balanced Team:
Against a AP(mages) heavy team:
Agains a AD(DPS champs) heavy team:
For the ones who love atma's impaler:
if they try to counter you with madred's bloodrazor:
I like them because it's just fun to play
don't use them against bot (Annie will kill you) or in ranked game
You will give the noobs in this game the feeling that you are OP
95% Lifesteal -> noobs won't be abel to kill you
try to one hit them - you can dael about 1800+ damage with your Q: you can also buy boots in addition and use ghost!
hide in the bushes and give them a nice surprise!
Pros / Cons
- You deal a lot of damage
- You won't die
- epic slow
- good laner
- at level 6 he can behave like a tank with his ulti activated + the enemies will underestimate you
- good lasthit
- has mana problems without items
- your enemies will call you a hacker
Thank you for reading my guide... i hope you enjoied it
have a lot of fun with Nasus
I will improve this guide in the close future
