I. Introduction What the hell is this guide?! II. Building Runes, Masteries and Summoner Spells III. Skills & Skills Sequences Well, that's fairly self explanatory. IV. Itemization The Most Important Part of the Guide V. Example End Builds Look at all the colors! VI. Conclusions Apologies to Indigo, FAQ and Thanks |
One of the example builds in my Soraka was composed of talisman of ascension , and I was wondering as to why no one has caught on that they're meant to mirror the colors of the rainbow. It has thus come to my attention that not many people color code their builds, and hence, this guide. You're probably wondering what the hell I'm saying and whether or not I'll get straight to the point. So yeah, this rainbow building is mostly going to center around some choice supports that also revolve around the rainbow theme. I'll probably talking about a few matters on them such as what skills you should max, their masteries and runes and such, but the main area of this guide is showing you how to build a support the fabulous way. Since there are only six 'real' item slots (trinkets not counting) and also for the sake of simplicity, indigo will not count as a color of the rainbow in this guide. Unfortunately, indigo is a largely ignored color since it mostly feels like an indistinguishable blend of blue and violet and let's face it, no one really cares much for indigo. Even Rainbow Dash says so. It's cool and all, but let's just mesh it with blue. In the end, you should have a working build with one item of each color; red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Good luck, and have fun. |

Building |
Flash is pretty much required because it has a rainbow of uses. Your second summoner spell is either Ignite for killing power early game or Exhaust, usually if you lack CC, doesn't play aggresively during the laning phase or you want to protest against Riot on their inequality with new icons. |
Armor Seals, MR Glyphs and Health Quints are trending right now because, well, defenses. You're going to be laning with and against a marksman and a support (oh, and minions), so expect that they will try to harass / poke / kill / violate you. Runes are pretty boring, the viable ones only coming in the same colors, so your marks can be whatever you want. Armor, HPen and AD Marks are the usual ones, so just use your common sense to decide which to pick. |
Runes

So long as you don't put more than 9 points in the Offense Tree and no more than 21 points in any tree, you should be fine. Ish. Common setups are 9/21/0, 0/21/9, 0/13/17, 0/9/21, 9/0/21, 5/21/4, 4/21/5, 4/5/21, 5/4/21 etc. etc. |

Skills & Skills Sequences
You want me to go into the specifics of each champion? Sigh... You can hover your mouse over their abilities to see what they do. Below is my preferred (and highly recommended) skill sequences for each of them. Oh, and it's kind of self-explanatory that you should level their ult at levels 6, 11 and 16, primarily for the reduced CD.

Itemization
So below is a list of all items which are somewhat viable on a support, carefully arranged into colors. By the end of the game, you should have item from each column in order to achieve fabulosity. Some items can work for both colors, such as Mobility Boots working for both the yellow and orange slot. A common mistake in rainbow building is failing to realize that most of the time, you aren't even going to reach a full 6 item build. This is why included items such as Haunting Guise and consumables. Just to get it out of the way, I'm not counting trinkets, so I'll say what to do with them now. Start with a Stealth Ward and swap it for a Sweeping Lens once you pick up your Sightstone and upgrade it into an Oracle's Lens.

Example End Builds
So long as you have one pair of boots (even if you're Nami), and common sense, you should be fine. Below are some example full 6 item rainbow builds. Revel in their fabulousness.

Conclusions
Q: Why isn't (insert support champion name here) part of this guide?
A: The supports I included are supposed to be colored after a rainbow, outruling supports such as Annie or Alistar.
Q: But what about Blitzcrank?
A: I don't play him.
Q: Then what about Lulu? She is the epitome of-
A: Purple. Not Violet.
Q: But Soraka isn't even vio-
A: Shut up.
Q: Fine, but why not Sona? You even have her skin-
A: Skins don't count. Nami's skills are bluer anyway.
Q: Isn't Taric fabulous?
A: Yes. And?
Q: ...
Q: Is this guide for real?
A: All of the information on the cheatsheets work. So do the Rainbow Builds.
Q: I don't think Seraph's Embrace is orange or even bought on supports.
A: That's not a question. And I was running out of orange items. Most of these items will never even be picked, such as in yellow, as your yellow item slot will almost always have to a talisman of ascension.
Q: Isn't Rylai's Crystal Scepter yellow?
A: The blue overpowers the yellow too much. Sorry.
Q: Then what about-
A: Please, don't.
Q: Is this supposed to be a general guide for supporting?
A: Not really. There isn't a gameplay section if you haven't noticed. Plus, general support guides for various *cough* supports are... too dramatic.
Q: Can you explain the items?
A: Check other guides. I'm not going to go through the trouble of explaining each and every single one of them when it's just 'buy this if you need armor, such as when the enemy team deals a lot of AD' over and over again.
Q: Why isn't this in the Humor section?
A: Because technically, this works, so it isn't really a troll guide.
