Introduction>>>>TO WHY I MADE A GP GUIDE.
So i have been playing
Gangplank or GP for quite a while. Not as long as some, but i play him ranked, i play him in normal games. Hell i play him to troll.
I started off using the standard number one build on Mobafire but i progressed, making a build that would my play style. If it fits my play style im sure theirs someone else out that this build may fit.
I'm sure ill get loads of **** for it when if you think about it, its a common build just a weird order. Grammar problems, stuff it.
Currently I am working on the codeing, Should be finished by the end of the week, so if any complaints are of that please hold off till Sunday. Also I plan to put a section in on what champions GP does well against and others not so well, including how to counter
Masteries.
Alright masteries, You know what were all big boys and girls. You make the masteries whatever you want. I feel it is almost common sense to set them up the way i did. Of course some people prefer more tanky masteries for GP. I bring the question of if their just not good enough to keep him alive at 21-9-0. perfect in my opinion. If you know the team will be more AD or AP change it accordingly of course.
Items. The only part half of the people read.
Alright time for the Item build for our Off-Tank, Crit planking
Gangplank
Well let me explain the first item.
>
Regrowth Pendant Philosopher's Stone
I love the
Regrowth Pendant I really do.
Its amazing, i start out with it cause to be honest i get greedy. I mean Gangplank has this amazing Q
Parrrley. I want to spam it. And what better way to spam a move to farm with, then to turn it into Philosophers Stone. Now a lot of people will say, O Fifthofnovember you should save your mana. To hell with that the earlier i get the
Philosopher's Stone the faster im making gold. Ill actually return to base early just to start the gold as soon as possible. So I use my mana to get the
Parrrley off, after level three of course.
>
Alright so by this time, I have saved up enough for my
Boots of Speed and
Avarice Blade, o and some Sight Wards. Those are very important. Maybe a Health pot or two whatever. Now by this time you'll notice, Ugh im doing as much damage or being as tanky as the other kids playing on the playground. Screw it, im serious you can even die once or twice early and still finish best on your team. Like i mean First Blood and everything. Now by all means don't do that just to see if im right. But by this point your not looking to kick *** and take names. Your not looking to hard counter all other champions. Your kind of squishy, have enough damage to get the point across to leave you alone. That is about all.
By this time you have finished your boots. Nine time out of ten you will have to get merc threads, i should've put a disclaimer. But i really do hate how you either run merc threads or your range. i get tired of it. But it works what can i say, Boots of lucidity are wonderful boots considering none of your other items or runes offer CDR, don't worry just steal the blue buff from the AP carry. Now you can move on to Zeal, simple your still not doing a lot of damage, but if you notice your last hitting minions like a pro with your q.
Now around now Laneing should be about over you should have your phantom dancer, "Now why go straight for phantom dance when im not doing any damage yet?". you ask. Well your not doing damage with the phantom dancer yet. However it is keeping you mobile and letting you farm the hell out of your Q which is what i suggest doing all early game. If your top solo, lucky you, don't leave your lane till major team fights are takeing place. Or for my personal playing(jackassness) As long as the person who is laneing top against me is there ill stay. Four on four is fair enough they can manage. Now start working on your infinity edge. this going to be your booster shot of damage this is what is going to make the enemy team upset.
Now Phantom dancer and IE are doing enough damage to kill all carries? But Fifthofnovember they say, i chase him and he gets away. well This is why i pick up Ole faithful. ( FEEL FREE TO CHANGE OUT THE LAST THREE ITEMS AS YOU SEE FIT. GET THEM IN WHATEVER ORDER YOU WANT.) Frozen Mallet, tried and true. A massive amount of health, A bit of damage, And an amazing slow.
At this time we need another shot of damage, What is better for an off tank crit plank, An Atmas impaler. Giving us a wonderful passive of turning health into damage. Not to shabby i do say. O and whats more eighteen percent crits? o and forty five armor? what can you say but thank you?
Really games rarely get this far outside of ranked, But this is when i get the Ole Warmogs. goes great with the Atmas. If you need to you can always switch the Warmogs out for the frozen mallet. Ive done it many of games. It doesn't change anything really aside waiting for your slow and not dying as easily. But i do understand it is hard to get the stacks up late game. so a lot of times i just grab phage then i get Warmogs. You do as you please.
I will add more to this and reword it if anyone actually reads this guide and finds it useful.
How to Farm.
Now this may seem silly, to post a section on the aspects of farming. However, I want to point out that Gangplank has an amazing passive ish thing going along with his Q. Its why we get Philo
Philosopher's Stone to begin with. So what i like to do, also what seems to be a good idea, spam the q early game. Seems odd. Spends alot of mana, but its quicker to the gold producing items. Once you have Philosophers stone, mana should be no problem to you. Then your faster to getting Avarice. Its really important to farm all you can. It's doubtful you will get to many early kills. Not incredibly hard, just there are more important things to focus on you know?
Summoner Spells
Really ill keep this short, anything that isn't smite or revive is completely useable on GP. Well maybe not promote or surge. But if your good with them go ahead. Try it out let me know how it works for you .
Summary
I hope someone out there tries the build and see how much more fun it is to play then the old two. I kind of just spliced them really. And id love positive feedback. Or hell even negative but ill be a douche to you if you give me unhelpful negative feedback. Lol.
