Introduction

Olaf is a crazy, bloodthirsty viking, and should be treated as such. This build is intended for the much faster paced and intensive Dominion game mode. A great taker, who can utilize his ultimate to ignore all cc and wreak havoc on someone trying to hold down a tough point.

He is capable of many different roles in Dominion, he can defend a tower against multiple foes thanks to the combination of his ult and his passive which increases your attack speed the lower % health you have. Also deals true damage which can be useful against those annoying characters like Alistar and Rammus who have ways of blocking magic and physical damage with relative ease.

Hope my guide can help some of those new to olaf out there! :D

Pros / Cons

Pros for Olaf!
    Great Pusher
    Great Defender
    Dangerous in the Jungle
Tougher than he looks at low hp
    Can win most 1v1's

Cons for Olaf :(
Not much range all hes got is his axe
Can be kited when his ult isn't up

Masteries

As far as masteries go I think it is always best to put points in the summoner spell you use if you can. Usually its very worth the 1 point spent. You want most of your points in the offense tree like any melee carry. Putting the extra points in defense for the armor and mr will be very helpful in your survivability early game and beyond.

Skill Sequence

The Skill sequence is rather straightforward as well. By maxing out reckless swing early you get a nice fat true damage nuke early on which is a very high source of damage with a low cool down. After that you want vicious strikes for the extra damage and life steal. The damage scales off your max health as well giving a nice extra damage bonus from getting Warmog's armor

Summoner Spells

For summoner spells an easy choice in my opinion is ghost and exhaust the combo of which lets none escape your grasp while also making them an easier target for your insane damage!

Other Viable summoner spells would be Garrison for defending or Flash for a quick escape through the jungle

Obviously don't take the baddie spells like heal which has reduced effectiveness in dominion. As long as you think through a spell before picking it for a champ chances are it won't be too bad.

Tips + Tricks

There are many key things to Olaf that you must know to be a true and blood thirsty berserker. Knowing how to use your ult in combination with entropy you can hold a point even 3 v 1 if you do it right. Knowing when and when not to use your ult will be the greatest way to be a success with olaf.

Items

By starting off with a Warden's Mail you start off the game very strong. Once I make it to top it usually just lets me rage on the other team with the help of my allies. I've found it to be much better than starting off with a phage.

Follow that up with a quick and cheap Berserker's Greaves and you're already a force to be reckoned with. Now we can't forget about all the magic users out there so we wanna pick up a Null-magic mantle for a little extra cushioning.

Next we want to build Entropy, but i can be very smart to grab the phage before the BF Sword because with Warden's mail and Phage combined we get a deadly combo of slows by attacking AND being attacked, but the slow from being attacked also slows their attack speed by a hefty 35% Ouch! Combined with the active from Entropy were ready to wreck some suckas!

Now finish that Null mantle into a Hexdrinker for a shield and some more damage.

The Warmogs + Atma combo is pretty obvious as the Atma scales to be deadly with the extra health from the Warmog's Armor. Then if you still have some spare cash to throw around (unlikely) you can finish your build with a well rounded Randuin's Omen for a nice active!

As for alternate items, any good LoL player will tell you that when you are building somewhat tanky you must build it to the other team, for example if their are 4 ap players and only 1 ad Starting with a warden's mail is not the smartest idea it's only good because currently in dominion most teams tend to be heavier towards the ad side.

Other good defensive items for olaf would be Odyn's veil a great defensive item that will also increase your damage output can never be a bad thing, plus when you pronounce it, it sounds like Odin so the norse mythology lives on! And if they're team is extra ad heavy it can always be great to finish out that randuins early and get that active slow and as slow. And if you want lifesteal instead of utility and slow you can replace entropy with a nice powerful Sanguine Blade! nothing like more weapons to kill deadly foes.
