Introduction:

I main with olaf, and with over 100 gmaes as olaf, and a dozen different strategies tested, I think I've found THE build. This is the way i play him, and this guide is intended for people who are familiar with the god known as OLAF.

This Guide is in the following order:

4-Masteries

7-Reckless Swing!!! (Reeeaadddd)



1. Reckless Swing does not scale well, right? Wrong, scale it early! Combined with your defensive masteries, Health and dodge runes, and the low amounts of health champions have early game, this is your key to harrasing.

2. Your Passive: Remember how it works! Don't be afraid to stay in a 1v1 situation if your health starts to drop, Fight! Your passive scales by LOSING health, In a equelly matched situation, youll begin to do more damage.




3. RUNES

MY rune choice is simple and effective for early game kills combined with your Reckless swing. Dodge and Health for your extra survivability, Armor pen for DPS, and Cooldown reduction in order to spam your Q and E.

4. MASTERIES

Build defensive! follow my build but tweak it to the left and right of the talent trees as you please, but remain 21 in defensive. I do this with any Mellee charecter who doesnt have much to rely on defensively. and the extra armor, regen, and health will keep you alive early game.

5. ITEMS, Finally!

Attack speed and lifesteal! Please do not do as other guides say and build a frozen mallet first! WIth the recent Buff to olafs Undertow, you dont need the slow! and if you build your masteries Defensively, you dont need the health!

By purchasing your recurve bow first, getting your one rank in undertow early, your damage, and slows will be enough to murder when combined with your W. But please do not think you need to finish your starks before your boots. Your order should go:

1- doran's and health pot, for obvious DEFENSIVE reasons.
2- Recurve Bow
3- Boots of Swiftness (combined with your slow will help chase or run, and the cost wont slow your build down.
4- Starks!
5- Sword of the Divine! the outrageous attack speed compliments your passive and lifesteal, and combined with a well timed activation, people will go down, and they will cry OP.
6- Its your choice from hear on out based on what kind of opposing team you're up against, Frozen Mallet for a speedy, chasing game. Bloodthirster, for more damage and lifesteal in a slow, evenly matched game. Or if you find yourself being the main target, go guardians for the survivability.

6. Summoner abilities!

Always take Ghost! There is a reason that 10/10 players in this years WCG tournment had Ghost. It will get you kills early game while fighting people in your lane when you wont get creepblocked.
Now, its either, Exhaust/Flash. its preference. Exhaust will give you the advantage over any other physical damage dealer if you find yourself in each others face, while flash is great for jumping on top of people who flee for the last few hits of damage. Either are great for chasing, or fleeing.
Dont look at the other summoner abilities!

7. Don't forget, Reckless Swing, Reckless swing, Reckless Swing! it scales well early game, just be aware of its cost in health on cast. Use it constantly early game, it's what will get you your kills! Follow my skilling order and youll be fine. Damage wise, Undertow is not as useful as Reckless Swing early game.
