I can see that Sunfire would help your farm ... I don't know if I could give up the mana/CDR for spell spammability though.

But yeah, if I've got money to burn an no item slots, Shurelya's is definitely something I'd look to replace ...

And thanks, I'm always happy to criticize :P

Also, If I get passed my core and it looks like the game will still be a while, it's probably more worth it to just sell the stone and get defensive items in the last 2 spots. If you run Shurelya's you'll be too squishy late game... Well... Assuming you don't run deathcap. >:D

On another note, thanks for commenting. Got 4 downvotes in a row, but you're the only one to leave anything constructive behind. I appreciate your time. I'm trying to make this hide as good as it cam be.

Notice I do have merc treads in my main build, which would undoubtably lead to shurelya's I did change my view on the item, just forgot to update that part. ;). As for fh, it's an AMAZING item. One of my faves. But the aoe on sunfire simply gets you farmed and fed faster. I actually usually build fh on amumu, but when I get ahead, sunfire let's you get further ahead. That's the way I see it anyhow...

You say you don't recommend Shurelya's because Eleisa's Miracle lets you get different boots. But if all you do with it is get 15% CDR boots, and Shurelya also gives 15% CDR ... I'm not sure I see the point, unless it's because you are rushing the CDR for some reason and you don't want to wait until you finish Shurelya's.

Eleisa's Miracle is a fantastic item and I use it in several builds, but for Amumu I like Shurelya because it's like a mini-Ghost, so I can take Flash and still have that clutch speed boost. Not for my ult, but for chasing/running in general.

Ionian boots and Eleisa's Miracle are 2350.
Shurelya's and Merc Treads are 3400. Quite a difference!
But you get +the active, +330 health, +25 magic resist. (+5 hp/5 and -5 mp/5 too, which I'll count as a slight negative.)

1050 seems like a fair price for that. But if you would rather have CDR boots, the Miracle, and, say, the Giant's belt for 430 health and working on your Sunfire, that's fair.

[edit: Oh, I see you don't build Eleisa until much later. ...But, that means you don't have Tenacity for all that time. Justify this plz.

[P.S. Frozen Heart > Sunfire CDR/mana rox!!11 Maybe I undervalue Sunfire's AOE but I love F. Heart and I love that you can build its mini-version Glacial Shroud cheaply and get basically everything but the attack speed aura (at somewhat reduced levels).]

Cloth armor works for just about anything. Regardless, you probably want to make sure you're getting a significant leash. It just helps soooo muuuuuch.

I didn't have armor quints so I tried with AP just for fun and I couldn't get the last golem (dual golem) with regrowth pendant and 1 pot. It does however work with Cloth Armor + 5 pots, that just doesn't really build into anything usable. So I'm gonna either use HP quints or fork out for the armor ones.

Yeah you're right about HoG. It was better when it gave armor too.

I agree about Siege Cmd and I can understand why you'll take it as an AD (aka tower pusher) won't go into the defensive tree. That tree isn't all that sexy compared to the others for true DDs.

Very good points. I adjusted my masteries to match.

HoG is a good item, but not for this build. This build is specifically for if you DON'T fall behind haha.

Good point with the flash. I do that, too. I just forgot to put it in the guide for some reason, probably because it's usually a spur of the moment kind of thing.

All of your mastery points make perfect sense. I like. That being said, I still find that Siege Commander should be a point that somebody on your team puts in. Good mastery in general. And movement speed is always op haha.

OH **** WHY HAVE I NEVER TRIED DFG!?! Dat burst trololol although... the mana per 5 doesn't really do anything...

And you probably did forget something. I do that, too haha.

Great guide. I've played loads of Amumu here's a few thoughts.

Heart of Gold is viable if you've had a **** start to the game. If you feel like taking a smaller risk Kage's Lucky Pick works too.

Sometimes I reckon it's better to initiate with Flash. So you Flash in, use your ulti and just as the snare on your ulti is about to run out you Toss their carry for ultimate CC. People will escape in the ~4 seconds from the snare on your ulti runs out till toss is off CD again, unless others in your team CC/Snare/Taunts them and lets be honest, most teammates won't think of that.

In this great pure tank guide (http://leaguecraft.com/strategies/guide/1657-burning-heart-amumu-tank.xhtml) it is/was mentioned somewhere (maybe a video) that on your first trip you need the CD on Smite to be about 17 second when you attack red. This might have changed with the omfgbbq mastery Bladed Armor.

When running on the Cloth Armor + 5 pots build you can usually manage an entire run in the jungle on 3 pots. So if you recall after dual golems and if you have some cojones, you can actually wait with the last pot or two and it'll leave you around 100 hp and with an extra pot. In the video you link FirstAnathema have just above 300 hp after finishing the Golems. You obviously need to be ready to flash away fast if you get ganked and it's subject to the randomess that's a game of LoL. Again I don't know how the new masteries will affect this, but I only see them as an improvement for us junglers.

I'll personally go for the 10 extra gold for Smite and the extra 2 dmg reduction (Indomitable), that seems so OP for start and just adds to Tantrum's niceness. I've removed the point in Siege Commander (Amumu isn't a tower pusher), Enlightment (2.7 % is 4-5 seconds at lvl 18 on your ulti. In 100+ games I've only waited for my ulti in mid team fight 2-3 times) and Vigor (IMO 1 hp/5s - 12 hp/min - is about as useful as ****flavoured lollipop quote: Patches O'Houlihan). I'll see if I remember to provide feedback on how this works out.

I actually wanted to get the 3 points into Resistance too, but I don't know what to remove. Initiator is just awesome and so is Honour Guard.

Your utility masteries are bang on imo. Picking Swiftness over Meditation is smart as you will have blue atleast more or less till you get Philo Stone and then you're usually set for mana unless you forget to toggle Despair off.

I also reckon you should mention that WotA is only viable if someone else didn't buy it - it's a popular item, even more so after the Gunblade nerf. In that case I personally prefer DFG because it gives only usable stats.

That's all for now :) I probably forgot something in the process.

Tried all the top builds and yours worked the best (for me)! Good job, I especially like the use of Rylai's. The synergy between the items is also very nice!

Man! You scared me! I don't mind down-votes, but if people couldn't jungle... that scurrred me bad haha. I feel like you should be able to kill the golem without masteries, though... idk. Maybe not haha I haven't tried. However, you shooould be getting a leash on blue if you're playing in an actual game. Without it, you can't gank after your first run.

I voted down because that jungle route is horrible, I have all the runes, got the regrowth, and the pot, and still, I cannot kill blue golem, then wolves, without dying.

I'm sorry dude, it was my mistake, all the time I had tank masteries, I sincerely apologize, voted up.
