Introduction

Hello there!

I am sl4yingya4ss on EUW, I am currently a gold 3 player.

I always looked up guides on this site but never felt like I could really make one of my own. Well this is my attempt at it!

I've always loved Gangplank, even before his rework. His character is epic and his abilities are just great! He became super powerful after his rework and I really liked what they did to him. So at the moment I personally think that I am a good gangplank. That's why I wanted to help others with playing this champ because he is able to carry games very easily.

Runes

Well runes is something that I usually don't really care about. Just take the normal adc runes.

Masteries

Thunderlords is a major core keystone for Gangplank. It really gives an extra boost to his ulti damage, so always chose thunderlords!

Skill usage: Q

Gangplank's q: Use this to farm minions to get the silver serpents! the mana refund of q has been removed so be careful when using it, you don't want to be oom on your lane. This is why you should start with the corrupting potion.

Late game this ability should deal tons of damage vs low armor targets, so use it for them in team fights.

Be careful early game because the q damage is pretty low on minions in the beginning so really try to last hit with it.

Skill usage: W

Well his W, remove scurvy, is a epic ability that removes cc from gp.

His w also heals so it's really useful in lane, just be careful not to use too fast because without your w you're quite vulnerable.

Skill usage: E

Well the barrels are obviously a big part of Gangplank's kit. In lane you want to use this in combination with your q to farm and get the silver serpents.

You can always put one down in lane nearby your minions so you can try to hit your enemy when he\she comes too close.

In teamfights you will want to use your barrels to damage the carries, since it deals a lot of damage to them! If they are all close together you can also use them
to hit all of them at once.

Skill usage: R

Well we all know this ult.. It is one of the best team fight winners.

In lane you want to use this to help other lanes that are getting in a fight. So when for example bot gets into a fight you can ult in the middle of it to slow the enemy and to do damage to them. It could really help your team out. So when playing gangplank always be looking on other lanes when level 6 so you can help them when needed.

Obviously you can also use it on your own lane when you get into a fight or when you need to escape and need the slow of your ult.

After you upgraded your ult with deaths daughter you really want to hit them with the true damage of the upgrade.

Early game playstyle

So as gangplank you don't want to fight at all during the early game. Just farm to get gold and silver serpents until you have your trinity force. Ask your jungler not to gank because you don't really deal damage without items, especially without trinity, a gank would just interrupt your farming. When you reach level 6 you can start using your ult on other lanes to get assists or even kills. I usually get a couple of assists/kills by just using ult during laning phase.

Mid game playstyle

Well farming is still the key to succes, you really need the ult upgrades. But, if you are not losing you can start fighting your enemy as well since gangplank's mid game is quite strong if you have trinity and even an infinity edge. Still be careful because he ain't that OP yet with just a couple of items. His E should be clearing waves easily now so use them for farming.

Late game/ team fight playstyle.

So now comes the tricky part I guess. It's late game so you should be really strong and also have at least 2 ult upgrades.

You should keep your ulti until the fight emerges, unless your team really wants to engage and you want to slow them. Your ult should be in the middle of the fight, that way it will really be annoying and hurtful for the enemy.

Your E is really the key to victory as well, use them in a chain to damage your opponents from a distance.

As gangplank you should always try to kill the carries, you should be the one doing this because of your high burst but with a full build you also have some tankiness.

DON'T DIE TOO SOON AS A GANGPLANK, BE CAREFUL OF BURSTERS.
