Introduction

Hello! Welcome to my first guide. In this guide I will be showing you how I play Orianna. This build will be concentrating on a strong early game and later in the game a supportive damager. Hopefully you will like it but please try out this guide before voting.

Pros / Cons

Here are some Pros and Cons for playing Orianna with this build.

Pros
- Strong early game
- Not as squishy as your maxing your E over your W
- With void staff and Sorcerer shoes you will be hitting full damage and requiring the enemy to buy magic resist

Cons
- After you get your Banshee's Veil, you are going to have to get the full price of the item as your inventory will be full

Summoner Spells

The reason why I take Ghost and Flash is because Flash is a great skill to have when trying to escape and Ghost will allow you to chase. If you don't like Ghost or Flash then take teleport instead. However, if you want to be aggressive then take Exhaust.

Masteries

My masteries are 9 - 0 - 21 with improved Ghost and Flash. The 9 in offence gives some cooldown reduction and some magic penetration. With 21 in utility, I get some extra movement speed, some more cooldown reduction and summoner spell cooldown reduction as well.

Items

The reason I build two Doran's Rings is because of two things. One, the mana regen is very important early on. Secondly, the bonus health will prevent you from dying early on. I get a Negatron Cloak because thats around the time when a teamfight would start to occur so I get that to help survive. Your last two items depend on your current situation. If your having trouble surviving get a Rylais and a Zhonyas or maybe even an Abyssal Scepter. If not, I recommend getting an Archangels and an Abyssal Scepter.

Why no cooldown reduction you may ask?

I find cooldown reduction to be optional. For example, your having a really hard time in a teamfight as all your skills are on cooldown when the teamfight is in progress. With an Evil Tome or a Deathfire Grasp (whichever is needed) you will fix that problem but in my opinion, the Abyssal Scepter is a much better choice as it reduces magic resist to all enemy champions around you so you will help your team. Also, the magic resist and the 70 ability power will really help yourself as well.

How to use your skills effectively

When attacking with Orianna you have to keep in mind that your orb gives your magic resist and armor. You should be carrying your team around mid game so be careful. Your standard combo should be Q -> W -> E (to the person being focused(usually yourself)). Remember to aim your Q a little ahead of the person your attacking so the W is more likely to hit if they end up running towards the orb. Another way to attack is to shield your tank or initiator and just spam W until your E is back, then Q and E back to the initiator. This is much safer as you are not in the middle of the fight.

How To Lane Early On

Orianna does not require mid but if it's a 1 vs 2 then I wouldn't take it unless you have a decent understanding of the game. Your passive is great and should help you last hit pretty easily. Your also pretty ungankable considering your Q is a free ward. To harass your enemy just Q behind them and if there in range, then W. Recall when able to buy your second Doran's Ring and boots. You can skip the second one if doing well but I wouldn't recommend it. After you grab your void staff you should be pretty unstoppable for early game.
