Introduction

Hello fellow summoners! This in depth guide includes 9 different builds that vary on the way you want to play Udyr. Be it solotop, jungle or dominion. Within those consists the: Damage build, MR build, Armour build, Health build, Dominion build.

Udyr is a great champion, he is very versatile in what he can do. The builds provided should allow you to accomplish what you want to do with him.

Jungle Route

Standard route
Level 1
Kill your WOLVES, use a health pot and move on to BLUE BUFF use smite on BLUE BUFF
Level 2
Once you have killed BLUE BUFF you are now level 2, finish of the SMALL LIZARDS at blue and head towards your WRAITHS, use another health pot
Level 3
The WRAITHS should make you level 3, if not, you are doing something wrong. At level 3 kill RED BUFF, use a pot and smite to kill it, finish the camp. Kill the SMALL GOLEM CAMP
Level 4
The SMALL GOLEMS have made you level 4, if you have enough health and it's not push hard, gank bot lane if you are BLUE TEAM, or top if you are PURPLE TEAM. If not just port back. Get your next items and kill your WOLVES again, (these should make you level 5 if you have ganked)

- continue standard route
- gank over-extended lanes
- give BLUE to AP carry
- give RED to AD carry

Runes

Jungling
As you can see from the build my runes are
Attack speed redsallowing my stance passives to proc more often
Armour yellows as you would pretty much die without them
MR blues as really you have choice blues. But some MR would not hurt
Attack damage quints allowing me to clear the jungle in about the fastest you can.


Solotop
Health redsunlike while jungling you are focused on last hitting minions and surviving, AS won't help with that
Armour yellows as you would pretty much die without them
MR blues as really you have choice blues. But some MR would not hurt
Dodge quints as dodge is good on any tank


Dominion
Attack damage redsits dominion, you need nice damage
Dodge yellows as screw armour its dominion, however the dodge is nice for those 1v1 fights
Attack speed blues as really you have choice blues. But some AS would not hurt
Movespeed quints it's dominion, you want to be fast

Skill Sequence

Pheonix Jungle
As you would expect with Pheonix Jungle, you max yourfirst. Taking 1 point in at level 2 and 1 point in at level 4 so that you are ready to gank!. Once you have maxed Phoenix focus on maxing Turtle taking 1 point in at levels 10, 15, and 18. You should put that 1 point in at level 10 as it really does help your overall DPS output.

Tiger Jungle
As you would expect with Tiger Jungle, you max yourfirst. Taking 1 point in at level 2 and 1 point in at level 4 so that you are ready to gank!. Once you have maxed Tiger focus on maxing Turtle taking 1 point in at levels 12, 15, and 17. You should put that 1 point in at level 12 as when you go Tiger, Phoenix does not matter as much, but it really does help your overall DPS output.


Turtle Solotop
Solotop is all about theyou take your next point in this is because you have to be safe, incase of early ganks by the enemy jungler or if your jungler wants to gank early. Level 3 is when you get so that in any ganks by your jungler, you can actually do damage. Max round about last.


Dominion Bear
In dominoin you need to be fast and deal damage, some survivability does not hurt either. Maxfirst so that you can be fast and allow your team free kills. Max second so that you can do actual damage. Max third so that you are a beast at surviving in dominion. Max as it really is useless on dominion

Jungle MR Build

THE JUNGLE MAGIC RESIST BUILD
This is the Jungle MR Udyr build, this build is used to counter heavy AP teams while still doing considerable damage. Note: I use this build to just, but it is viable in lane, however i suggest my solotop build

EARLY GAME
Your first item should be:is a must for jungling, match this with 5 health pots.
After you clear the jungle once port back and get:some wards and start building towards:getting rank 2 boots early allows for easy ganks especially with the tenacity reducing chance of snares stopping you.
You may be thinking why do I buy another Null-Magic Mantle before Madreds? The reason is I'd rather have the extra MR early that sets me up for Wit's End, before Madreds.
The last item for the early game is:this is for dragons and jungle clearing, but also starts prepare me for the late game, while keeping me up to level.

MID GAME
Now you have reached the mid game you need your first damage item so you are equipped for team-fights, for this take a:building off of the Null-Magic Mantel. NOTE, ALL THIS TIME YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUYING WARDS!
Now that you have your damage item you should also wish to assist yourself and team better, to do this buy an:this item will give your team good survivability and will most likely help sway a team-fight into your favour.
By this time it is encroaching LATE GAME, which means turtle should be maxed! Now is the time to start getting:This is just a generally good item on Udyr.


LATE GAME
Late game is here and now we need your last 2 items!
You still should have alying around and you need more damage in team-fights, solution?! A beautiful item on Udyr works in great combination with Wit's End and Tiger Stance.
Finally you get your last item:because what build would be complete without it? :)

Jungle Armor Build

THE JUNGLE ARMOR BUILD
This is the Jungle Armor Udyr build, this build is used to counter heavy AD teams while still doing considerable damage. Note: I use this build to just, but it is viable in lane, however i suggest my solotop build.

EARLY GAME
Your first item should be:is a must for jungling, match this with 5 health pots.
After you clear the jungle once port back and get:some wards and start building towards:andthese make easy ganks and easy jungle.
Unlike in the MR build you turn thequickly into ajust because with this build I feel less supporty and don't want to buy wards, as well as the build has other tricks up my sleeve for damage output.
Note: notice you get:before Wriggles just because you should always assume that team fights will happen early and having Aegis in them is better than Wriggles.


MID GAME
Now should be near or in the mid game now which is about the time most AD champs start to get scary, this is why we shut them down, by building:the mana + cd = spamable spells as well as the passive being amazing for shutting down any AD who is most likely going to be bear slapped by Udyr.
Now the game starts to go into a late game which is where you need to start doing damage again, therefore you need to start build ourselves a:due you going to have a large health pool, I suggest Chain Mail first.

LATE GAME
Finally the late is here and there is one last thing to build:, warmogs, the final item in our tanky tank build thingy. This last item will give great sustain, and have great synergy with your Atma's Impaler.

Jungle MR and Armor (Health) Build

THE JUNGLE MR AND ARMOR BUILD
There more than often comes times when you are facing a team that needs you to get both armor and MR, unfortunately this build gives you the least damage output. Note: I use this build to just, but it is viable in lane, however i suggest my solotop build

EARLY GAME
Your first item should be:is a must for jungling, match this with 5 health pots
After you clear the jungle once port back and get:some wards and start building towards:orWith this build get2nd because your not trying to get damage, but more tankyness for early team-fights, and a really tanky late game. Note: this is the slowest jungle build, but it is probably the best survivability build.


MID GAME
Now in the mid game your first item isbecause you should be counting on being really tanky really quickly, we want the enemy to focus you. Just pop turtle.
The 2nd mid game item is, now normally banshees is one of the last items you buy, but this build is meant for all enemies to focus you, and for you to survive, while your teammates kill them. You can get Banshees later if you are not having to much trouble with AP.

LATE GAME
In the late game you want to at least do a bit of damage, therefore you need to start building a:due us going to have a large health pool, I suggest Chain Mail first
With Atma's done you need one last item, that being:, this item finishes off your tanky, tank build, giving you just about the most survivability you'd want in a champion

Solotopping

As for Udyr solotop, it is a pretty standard solotop build. This is my preferred and recommended laning build.

EARLY GAME
Like when jungling start your game withand 5 health pots. This gives you what you need to stay in lane. If you really want manapots instead, it is personal preference.
On your first port back, get yourself and some wards, WARDS ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR SOLOTOP, YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET GANKED.
Your next ports back should consist of you buying yourand



MID GAME
Now that you have built your 2 gp/10 items, your are nearing the Mid game. A great tool for Udyr's solotop mid game is a.
Start off your Trinity Force with a due to it being the most important part (for you) of the Trinity force, build Sheen last, you don't especially need its passive.
After Trinity build yourself a for that philostone you have, if your support already has one, or the enemy has to much cc is a good alternetive. Shurelyas will give you good health and CDR for the coming stages of the game.
Now finally you get your giving you that all so helpful passive, and MR.


LATE GAME
Now that you are in the late game there are only 2 more items for you to get.
You fifth item will be a, however, note that I feel this item is optional, there are other items you could get instead, if there were an item on this build I would replace, it would be this. Sunfires is a good alternative.
Last but not least is the oh so popular , this will give you that MR that you have been missing, and will make you an annoying person to target in tetamfights.

Dominion

I have not really played a lot of dominion, but the dominion Udyr games I have played I go the build.

This is not a very tanky build, you are going for damage, as that is what it is all about on dominion.

Start the game with, you are going mid, with the help of bear, you shud be the first one there provided there is on rammus.

Your next item is into an , why not ? Because screw health, this is dominion, we need DAMAGE!

The 3rd item on your list is , you are fast, do a lot of back capping.

Afterward, get yourself a as hey why not, you're Udyr.

In combination with the rest of your items get a and become very much almost unkillable. The life steal on this combined with bear and tiger along with your other damage items gives you so much survivability that you don't need health items that much.

Last but not least is to help deal with those annoying akalis and such.

Summoner Spells

MAIN SPELLS
Smite: this spell is a must for jungling; do not take it in lane. Must have for last hitting minions

Ghost: I take this spell on most of my junglers as I find it more useful in ganks. Besides, we are tanking the tank should not have to use flash to get away. And on dominion flash is useless.

Teleport: this is a great solotop spell it allows you to port back without losing experience in lane.


ALTERNATIVE SPELLS
Flash: this is a great alternative spell to Ghost, it has gotten me out of more predicaments than I can count, though personally I prefer Ghost on Udyr.

Fortify: a good solotop spell. I normally don't take it, but it is nice. It also helps in the jungle if you take it, as it passively makes you deal 9 bonus damage to creeps when up, its not the most effective but you can do it

Exhaust: good for ensuring ganks do damage as well as good for if you get tower dived.

Heal: I have mixed feelings about this spell, it is a great nooby spell and it might be good for 2v1 solotop or jungling but I feel there are other spells that are better. Yet if you feel unsafe, take heal.

Clarity: if you think you are really going to have mana problems then take this, personally I just keep Turtle on most of the time.

Cleanse: as you are tanking you are going to be CCed a lot Cleanse is a situational spell, it is only useful in certain circumstances. Alternatively just buy Cleanse ingame

DON'T TAKE THESE, PLEASE
Rally: what does this even do?

Clairvoyance: leave this to your support

Ignite: leave this to your AP carry, your job is to poke your enemies not ignite for last hit KS'

Revive: you should not be dying
