POPPY ADC BUILD
FIRST PURCHASES (in this order)
Threats to Poppy with this build
|Azir||Just no mobility at all, smash him and he's dead|
I'D LIKE TO START THIS GUIDE ASKING YOU TO COMMENT AND VOTE THE GUIDE IF IT WAS USEFUL OR IF IT WASN'T AFTER YOU'VE TRIED IT OUT
This is my first guide in my whole life, so it may be a little "rude" but i'll try to make you understand why Poppy is just OP as adc. Poppy as you may know if you're reading this guide doesnt have a really high sustain early game, so it will be really hard farming when you're level 1. If the adc you're laning against is a little skilled can zone you really easily and you will find yourself under tower after 5 seconds you arrived in lane. If you are not careful enough you may give the first blood in just no time... BUT (there is a but) if you manage to get to level 2 without losing much hp everything changes. First thing first to know before starting a match with Poppy ADC: if you arent really confidend with her or you need to get used on how to play her as an ADC, choose wisely with what support you're going with. The best supports to have with her may be Nautilus, Taric (his stun makes combo with your E), Blitzcrank, Alistar (he's a little harder to manage because of the low time to move around the knocked enemy to smash him on the wall), Janna (She has the same problem of Alistar), Nami, Zilean, Morgana and Lux.
Pros / Cons
- OP burst damage
- High mobility
- Lot of CCs
- Low ability cooldowns
- Low mana pool early and mid game
- Low sustain early
- Low range
All you need to know about poppy's skills before starting playing her as AD
Q: - Huge damage in every part of the game, always try to land both the explosions.
- Little slow before the second explosion, useful if the enemy is coming your way. He will
take damage twice and an auto attack will proc Thunderlord dealing LOADS of damage. It can
change the result of a fight
E: - It's an op engage even if not used on the wall, it deals damage and makes you come in
range hit the enemy with your Q and an AA (Auto Attack) and again Thunderlord procs
- It is a good disengage as well if used on a minion ( most of the times it comes in
handy on the jungle crab)
- It can be used through the walls
W: - It is a really nice skill to chase the enemies and smash them on the wall thanks to the
- It's a really good skill to escape because it blocks any dash/leap
- It can block champions ults as well, but only some of them (below you find a list of
things it can or can't block)
- It's really nice to block enemies from escaping if you activate it with them inside it
R: - It's op
- If you dont charge it but press the button only once, it will cast in a quite low range
knocking up everyone inside instead of throwing them into the cosmo. It's really useful
to "waste time" making your other skills recharge and reposition yourself. This is the
use of her ult you should use more because it will assure you a lot of more kills
- It can obviously be used to disengage ( if you do it only aim for the most dangerous
one and in teamfights aim for the carry)
- It can be used to interrupt channelling abilities like Katarina's and Miss Fortune's
- Be careful when charging it because it's really visible and the enemy will know you're
gonna try to smash them and it will be really easy to avoid due to it's slow casting
- Try to avoid casting it when you're next to an enemy because any CC except slows will
interrupt it and start it's cooldown (a reduced cooldown of 30 secs, but too many times
it counts as a normal cooldown. Thanks Riot)
- Don't use it to kill people except if they are REALLY low hp, so damn low that you
could kill them spitting. If you do that 90% of the times you will save his life and
waste your ult.
- The hit area is big but not that big to smash more than 3 people, 4 if you are lucky.
What does Poppy's W block? Let's see
What does it block:
Vayne Q, Lucian E, Rengar leap, another Poppy E, Lee Sin W and second Q, LeBlanc W first activation, Shyvana Ult. Basicaly every dash, deslocations with a animation in between.
What it doesn't block:
Flash, Ezreal E, Katarina E, Talon E, LeBlanc second W activation. Kassadin Ult, Zed W and Ult, Malphite Ult, Hecarim Ult, Sion Ult. These last aren't blocked because they are unstoppable, every displacement is useless against them. In Sion's case, he becomes immune to CC, so he would not get knocked back from her W. All of the other examples are blinks, notice that they move from one place to another, but there is nothing between the first place to the last.
At the start of the game you surely know you have to farm. Farming with Poppy, as i said in the first chapter may be hard at first levels because of her low early sustain and the REALLY low range. The first times you will probably be in trouble farming because both adc and support will poke you to death. If that happens just play defensive and use your shield and your Q at max range to farm.
2 words, BE AGGRESSIVE. You have to mark the territory, make your enemies understand that that's your land and you'll open their ***es like a banana if they cross it. This doesn't mean you have to attack them on sight, just farm and when they are pretty close to the wall (it happens really often because bot lane is just walls xD) smash them, combo and leave. If the situation admits it, go for the kill. Remember that until lvl 7-8 your sustain will be quite the same of a normal adc, just a bit higher thanks to your W.
When build and set like this, Poppy's late game is gonna be quite hard because she can't deal damage without fully going into the fight and she is the ADC and not the tank, so her sustain won't be as tanky as it usually is. You have to wait for the right moment to jump in and deal enough damage to kill/damage someone without taking too much damage (not more than 1/5 of your hp) or without taking it at all.
Useless chapter in where i thank you
Thanks for reading the guide, i hope you had fun. This is all i had to say
