This is my first tutorial, my English is really horrible is not my first language. I'll try to explain my two builds and how they work. Basically, the poppy is a hero to kill Aps and Ads easily with your combo Q + E (Wall). And your Q can do serious damage to tanks. here can see the Combo of poppy. ( Poppy AD ) but the same combo.
For Poppy Combo Kill runes has to increase Armor Penetration and some Defense and Magic Defense to not die very easily. This will give a good start to the game.

For the Poppy Tank Killer is a good start with enough Defense, Magic Defense and Dodge which is a basic tank.

I really like Ghost and Exhaust. Exhaust is good for ganks, flee from the enemy and stop some AD heros.
Ghost in the Poppy is great because it runs well with his Paragon of Demacia can easily escape some gank because of being without ward or your friends do not call mia. It is also very good for when you go running after someone and having to get to your side to use Heroic Charge to hit the wall.

For the Poppy Tank Killer, you can not change much the items because they are already the maximum balanced. but you can change as the game dictates, 5x5 example, has 3 ad, 1 tank, 1 ap. can something that can change the magic defense and put defense . and the same thing occurs if many aps and trade items of defense to magic defense.
But in two cases the Trinity have to be build in and grab it as fast as possible.
Passive:- Any damage dealt to Poppy that exceeds 10% of her current health is reduced by 50%. This does not reduce damage from structures. This is the power used against any AD. it reduces 50% damage taken if he Execed 10% of her total life. why do some poppy tank.

In teamfight all you need to use your ult in a Tank (less Rammus or galio) or an AP with no mana. And kill first the Carry and Mages. Talk to your team not target the hero with the ult. this is one video, can teach how use the ult and see the power of poppy.
Poppy not good farming, so you need try to give the last hit in all minions possible. good way to feed is use your Q in minions. and kill a lot of heros.
