Hello everyone today I am writing this build for one of my main's Poppy. Poppy is a single target nuke whose job is to destroy the enemy team's damage dealers. The build that I have suggested is very expensive and realistically very hard to achieve. On the good news you should be destroying their carries by the time you get triforce and Infinity Edge :D. I would go so far as to say that poppy is a hyper carry. In the rest of this guide I shall show you how to make poppy a valuable collection to your arsenal of champs.
Since poppy has a weak early game my choice in runes support her so that she can farm with ease.
Greater Quintessence of Strength- I chose this so that last hitting would be easier.
Greater Glyph of Warding- Magic resist helps resist those sneaky AP junglers ;)
Greater Seal of Resilience- Armor to help you take less damage in lane.
Greater Mark of Desolation- To tear through their armor
Since my base armor and magic resist is good, I get a regrowth pendant and health pot for sustain.
Build that into a Philo Stone for Health and Mana regen. and lucky for us gold per 5 :)
I then get basic boots for mobility and rush sheen because it doubles the damage output. Then I get Merc treads because poppy is too open to CC.
TRINITY FORCE IS A MUST HAVE ITEM!! Sheen doubles damage output. Phage gives health attack damage and slows. Zeal Increases movement speed, attack speed and crit.
Infinity Edge- Amazing Item for damage and crit.
Hextech Gunblade- Good for life steal, spell vamp and slowing active.
Last whisper- To tear through the armor.
Maw of Malmortius- Epic passive with good Damage and magic resist.
Elixirs and oracle to make you look like a God :D
Lets face it poppy has some sick skillage built into him.
The passive is extremely useful. Her passive is that every attack that is over 10% of her current health is reduced by 50%.This means when you are at about a quarter health, all of the attacks you'll be taking from other champions is cut in half. This build uses Poppy's passive as a way to remain slightly less squishy and still be able to go all out with offensive items. Remember though, the passive doesn't work on turret shots!
Devastating Blow(Q)- Just plain ridiculous. Late game it can hit for over 1.5k damage and is on a 4 second cooldown late game. You pretty much destroy the squishies.
Paragon of Demacia(W)- Amazing for speed boost, increased damage and armor.
Heroic charge(E)- A good skill, poppies only form of cc without phage. Stuns when you knock a target on a wall. Could be used to get in a target's face or getting distance when you run by charging on a minion.
Diplomatic Immunity(R)- Poppy's ultimate truly the cherry on top, this is what keeps her poppin ;) It makes you immune to everyone but your target, deals extra damage towards your target. I usually like ulting the supports after they have used their cc. Then the raping continues :D
Pros / Cons
Pros- Amazing late game damage, good passive, excellent tower diver.
Cons- Weak early game. Mana hungry.
I like flash and ignite on her.
Flash is over all a good spell to chase or run away.
I like ignite early game because it helps me pull off good tower dives. I usually use ignite to finish off my target so that the ult still works on me while i get out of tower range.
