First off i want to say im not an amazingly awesome player. But i do like to think im a great Evelynn. As many of you know Eve has become quite a flavor recently (even after her nerfs to early but buff to late game). Now i was an Evelynn player since like summoner lvl 7 im now 30 with about 3000 or so games played 1500 of which was with Evelynn. So i figured i would write my guide on how i like to play her. and rate/comment/critisize accordingly.
So here are my runes and your thinking quite bizzar possibly? Let me explain.
Marks: Magic pen clearly AP champ Mpen=win
Seals: Armor why Armor? As an Evelynn player i know how important her early game is it is everything to Evelynn and about 75% of damage you will take early lane game is physical so basicly for survivabilty.
Glyph: Flat AP. Again maybe not the best choice? Well with a 1:1 ratio on Ravage and a summoner in your lane at lvl 2/3 with 500-700hp having 30ap at lvl 1 is good for an early kill.
Quints:Flat HP, back to seals argment you need to stay in lane and get to lvl 6 asap and you WILL be bullied by anyone your laning against making last hitting hard as hell and you dont need to be going back or exp denied at all.
Im not saying these are perfect runes but there ones i like to use.
Now for my Masteries.
I got for a simple 9/21/0. Evelynn is a born killer and if you do your job right that makes you public enemy #1 with a 9/21/0 you stay alive longer what good is a killer when your instantly dead? You get all you need from offencive the ap magic pen and CDR. Me personaly im not a big fan of Utility so dont use it. and defence ties in perfectly with Eve as you will be the focuse.
My items are quite simple mostly a standard AP build. But let me go into a little detail.
Amp Tomb(Soul Stealer)+Hp pot: Starting with runes masteries and amp tomb at lvl 1 evelynn has 30 ap and this will go right into Soul Stealer. HP pot>Mana Pot why? you dont take hate spike untill you have to therefor dont have a mana problem.
Boots of Mobility: Why not Sorc boots? Well to put it simply Eve once with Soul stealer+boots of Mob in hand will be ganking like crazy. you need to be able to move form lane to lane and through jungles as quick as possible.
LichBane: not the best ap item in general for alot but for Evelynn it is THE BEST the passive active will help you get kills early game and will destroy late game. First main/expensive item without a doubt.
Death Cap: Expensive yes but as Eve it is easy to get once you have lichbane. to be honest Soul stealer with some stacks+lichbane+deathcap are the only items Evelynn needs.
Rylai's: what more can be said? HP AP and a slow. If thats not a dream item i dont know what is. As if your ulti+Ghost+lichbane 8% move speed wasnt enough when killing some poor guy you find. Why not throw in a slow form your spammable hate spike (thus proccing lichbane).
6th item...Really it is up to you i like Hourglass more ap the better and the added armor and active is always handy if you find yourself in trouble as your being hit and team mates are fighting (remember lvl 3 ulti passive any kill or Assist you gain 650 hp it can and will save you every so often)
Attacks from minions deal 50% damage to Evelynn.
Passive not overly handy late game but still it is nice for early game i have countless times died by minions when killing an enemy champ early game with other champs.
Instantly damages the closest enemy unit with malevolent energy, dealing 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+28% of ability power) magic damage and 50% damage to a secondary nearby target.
Cooldown 0.8 seconds | Cost 12 / 15 / 18 / 21 / 24 mana | Range 20
Now this is where ill get most stick i think. Everyone screaming why wait untill you have to take hate spike for this reason alone. Early game eve needs to gank with a lvl 5 ravage 320 damage+ only 100ap makes 420 damage right off the mark. Where as hate spike is spammable but does alot less damage and is kinda random as there will be minions in lanes while your ganking. Why take a chance 1-2 hate spikes will hit when you can open up with Ravage doing massive damage (then their stunned because of shadow walk) with there magic and armor reduced perfectly ready for your lane partner or lane your ganking to follow up with stuns slows and CC.
Evelynn fades away, becoming stealthed for 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 seconds. Evelynn's next attack or damage ability will stun her target for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds, ending her Shadow Walk. 1.5 sec delay for stealth to take effect (delayed further by damage). Evelynn can cast Shadow Walk while stealthed to destealth.
Cooldown 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds | Cost 60 mana | Range 200
Evelynns ganking ability. I mean who dont want to be able to run about the map unseen by your enemy? perfect for ganking checking jungle or even just getting exp form lanes if your low or waiting for your enemy to be in tower range to stun as the last minion dies (and they think their going to run back)
Deals 80 / 135 / 190 / 255 / 320 (+100% of ability power) damage to target unit. If Ravage was used from behind, it reduces the target's armor and magic resistance by 10 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 26 for 5 seconds.
Cooldown 9 seconds | Cost 90 / 105 / 120 / 135 / 150 mana | Range 325
As explained above (hate spike section) Evelynns main damage output at low levels it scales 1:1.
Malice and Spite
(Passive): Each time Evelynn scores a kill or assist she regains 350 / 500 / 650 health.
(Active): Evelynn gains 50% / 75% / 100% attack speed and 20% / 25% / 30% movement speed for 10 seconds (non-stacking, can cast while stealthed). The cooldown refreshes every time an enemy champion dies.

Personaly i htink this ulti used is borken Yes it does no damage yes it is not a CC/Stun ect but WAIT 650 per kill/***it 30% move speed and 100% attack speed at lvl 3 AND it is now on a cooldown(a while ago you NEEDED to have an enemy die). not only that it becomes active again if someone on the other team dies even if your nothing to do with it. All in all you will mostly find this skill pretty much NEVER on cooldown. You use it to kill or get out of trouble. you use it to kill it refreshes. you need to get out of trouble means there is a fight going on and again a chance it will refresh. This is what really breaks eve. As if being invis having a 0.8 second spam move and a move that scales 1:1 lowering armor and magic res along with not having an amazingly long cooldown. She is also pretty much unkillable. She will chase you down she will tower dive you(and get out some times with more hp then going in with) and hell with ghost and her ulti you dont have a chance in hell of catching her. in my opinion one of the best ultis in the game.
Ghost: With Eves Ulti it makes going into fights and getting out of fights so much easier a must have i feel.
Flash: With ghost and Evelynns ulti flash should only ever be used as a GTFO button say if you run into a bush and see 4 people one with oracles. thats a flash ghost ulti GTFO moment. but also if you do your job right your the main target. the enemy will say to each other when eve comes out of stelth everyone rape her quick. again thats a flash moment. i never use flash to kill if you cant kill someone with her basic skills and items then your doing somthing wrong.
Exaust: if the enemy team is Ad heavy it is a good option to take but if your tanks tank your fine also someone else could take it.
Ignite: A good amount of dps addition early game not so much late game. but alot of people take it 50% of the time your igniting someone already ignited or someone does the same to your ignite even if your on Skype/vent/Ts3 people get carried away. so let the other person just take the ignite for that extra dps.
Teleport:not a bad choice for jungle ganks ect. But with boots of mobility ulti and ghost. if you need to be somewhere you can get there instantly.
Smite: to screw over their jungler. but upon seeing Evelynn most play with caution and smite to kill exactly when smite will do as much damage as possible. all in all not really worth the summoner spell slot.
Pretty much every other spell is kinda useless on Evelynn i have found.
Ok now i have explained some of what/why/how i do things in game in all other sections. But lets have a little break down. the the key to Evelynn throughout any game is timing knowing when to and not to do things.
Early game: It seems to be THE LAW now to have a jungler and anyone who thinks other wise is a NOOB. It is an advantage but not needed. So taking shadow walk at lvl 1 and buying amp tomb+hp pot,(if they have a jungler you know starts at blue) you can take your time your in no real rush. make your way through your jungle to the slope by river. as you hit that go invis walk past middle grass and the grass on the curve seeing if anyone is guarding. up to the grass above that on the bit leading to the middle of their mid (if you dont know please say ill try to get a diagram done) shadow walk will run out there but its ok 95% of people will never be in that grass unless their late and are walking through it(unlucky you). with the golem spawning at about 1:47 you should go round there in stealth at about 1:55 as his "guards" would have gone as to not leech exp and he should be about 1/4-1/2hp Easy first blood and a messed up jungler. After that return to your lane with a big smile on your face last hitting and trying not to take to much damage. With your lane partner trying to harras as Evelynn is bad at it. if anyone gets low pull back go into stealth and Ravage and spam hate spike (one lvl at lvl 4 a little damage can mean a kill early game).
Mid Game: so now you have got lvl 5 Ravage. boots of mobility and soul stealer. This is where evelynn is in her prime. This is also the most important part of the game for her i feel. you fail here your gonna suck and probly lose (unless your team rocks). Keep in mind since her stealth nerf you can only stay stealth 20 seconds at lvl 2 shadow walk. but thats plenty of time to wait for the perfect time to gank. If your team has a jungler with red buff this is perfect. roll with them going form top mid bot as much as you can gank gank gank, weather you get kills or not it dont matter stacks are stacks. but this is also the time you use Evelynns ulti to its fullest. So lets say your gank fails. Awwww Damn it they got away with 100-300 hp S**T. But no the passive of your ulti means eve gets to tower dive anyone stupid enough not to run back to base. due to the fact you gain 350/500/650 hp for a kill means you can happily tower dive and take up to 3-4 hits and be fine and when you ge tthe kill you get hp oh and you can ulti out at super speed. warning doing this CAN and WILL make some people rage quit or perma have oracles on. but thats your goal.
Late Game:So now your all lvl 18 team fights are going on their weak *** DPS/Carry has got oracles as well as their tank DAMN!!!!!! Thats Eve screwed....NO. There is no way an Eve should even think to go for a tank more so with an oracles. now for that carry you have bullied all game who thinks their safe with their little oracles. simple solution to this. waiting for the tank to go in iwth their oracle on into your team they ge tthe jump on your team oh no. You Ghost+Ulti directly to that carry with all their damage the speed you get to them they see you like oh its eve SH*T you have them in a 2 second stun. now for instance say you have 400-500 ap at this point. Run in with Ravage leading to a 2 second stun. so 320 damage+450(from ap rough estimate*) then proccing lichbane to do a further 450+your attack damage so 450+107 that my friend is 1337 (no pun intened) in a matter of .5 seconds. not to mention their stunned for another 1.5seconds and slowed being spammed by a hate spike every .6 seconds as you melee hit them with your extra 100% AS form your ulti. Now can anyone tell me what that is???? Thats a dead carry if you ask me. good bye carry good bye oracles AND good bye Evelynn as your ulti is still active you dash out of the fight still on full hp after your 650 you just got fomr the kill. waiting for your cooldown on shadow walk if you need to or back into the fight if your team is winning to spam hate spike+ravage when it is off cooldown both proccing lichbane+Rylais (lich bane every 3 seconds) and remember your ulti lasts 10 seconds so pretty much go in with it come out with it even if the fight lasts longer then expected. as it refreshes after every enemy dies as stated above. there should be no time in any team fight your ulti is not active.
I would also like to add about pushing towers with Evelynns ulti this goes thoughout the whole game so i didnt put it in any place. 100% As while pushing a tower is great for taking that thing down. Not only that if you have enemy minions around you spam hate spike and watch that bad boy crumble to the ground.
So thats it all in all.
now this may not be the best guide but its how i like to play Evelynn as AP eve. But the thing you got to remember with Evelynn it is not what items you get so swap and change them up even i still do some games are situational but it is how you play Eve. it is all about timing a good eve is not a kill stealer as many people play her. a good Eve is someone who strikes fear into the opposition making them buy wards and oracles wasting there hard earnt gold that they can farm while not being ganked by you. Olny to make it easier for you and your whole team to win the game as they have no late game items as your whole team does. Everyone loves kills and to have a 27/0/10 score but that is not everything, if you lose whats the point. Eve has a 2 second stun perfect for ganking dont give her a bad name by waiting stelthed in a fight/gank to last hit with ravage. With her ulti and ghost you should open up on champs in ganks the time to wait is late game but dont wait to long your job is to kill the carry. and if things go bad you always have your ulti ghost still on as well as that GTFO button (flash). Really what im saying is go balls deep but go balls deep at the right times. Evelynn takes alot of practice to become good with.
Also probly next tuesday when LoL is down AGAIN for extended amounts of time i might do my AD Evelynn build :)
