Threat Champion Notes
1
Ashe Jumping on her is quite easy all throughout the game, with her low CC and with her only having sustained damage. Try to catch her out without her support or if the support is low.
1
Fiddlesticks Fiddle is an easy kill. From the start, he is squishy. Catch him out without his W heal and should be an easy kill. Early invades work very well on him, as long as you know where each enemy is on the map, so you don't get 2v1'd.
1
Ziggs Ziggs is really easy to jump on unless he puts his E on himself early. He shouldn't be able to burst you down before he does you.
1
Morgana Morgana's black shield is useless against you. You can either save your empowered E, or just channel it into pure Q damage for an easy kill.
1
Nami Nami has decent peel, but being mostly skillshots, very easy to kill. Versing a Nami support normally leads to an easy double kill bot-lane.
1
Jayce Jayce is tough against everyone early. It's best to pay attention to other lanes until he falls off. Unless your laner is having lots of trouble.
1
Soraka Soraka is very weak early because she's constantly low from spamming her heal on her ADC. Easy Kill.

Introduction

o
Hello,
I'm Zozuh and I'm a Rengar main. I've been playing Rengar for a few years and have pretty much mastered him. He is my favourite champion in the game from his personality to his play style. If you want to one-shot people and get out safely while sounding like a bad ***, this is your champion. This is my first guide, so comments on improvement are really appreciated! As well as your up votes :D
This Guide will be continuously updated until completed - Including the Big Rengar update coming out!!

Runes and Masteries

o
The Runes I take are fairly basic Runes. They can be swapped for different playstyles. EG: Can swap out blues for 9 scaling CDR.

Ferocity Tree

Sorcery - Sorcery needed to make that jungle clear slightly faster, as well as doing more damage on each of your abilities.
Fresh Blood - This makes your early game easier to snowball.
Vampirism - Ability power not needed, so Vampirism is taken. Life steal helps too.
Bounty Hunter - Althought Oppressor is good for early game slows/snare, Bounty Hunter allows for higher damage late game, stacking with your passive, as you should've killed everyone at least once by then.

Cunning Tree

Wanderer - The movement speed allows for quicker clears as well as slightly more map presence.
Assassin - This is more based around mid-late game where you are able to kill anyone solo.
Merciless - Helps with the one-shotting and increases early game ganking damage potential.
Greenfather's Gift - This makes your bush jumps more damaging
Precision - We take this over Intelligence as the armor pen will help with damage without having to buy many armor pen items.
Thunderlord's Decree - This makes your damage and burst even higher, ensuring kills.

Unique Skills

o
1. Unseen Predator: While in brush or in stealth, Rengar gains a leap range and his basic attacks cause him to dash to his target outside his attack range. This bonus lasts for 0.5 seconds upon exiting brush or stealth. Unseen Predator occurs regardless of whether or not his target has sight of him. Leaping Gains 1 Ferocity Stack if 0.

2. Ferocity: Rengar generates 1 Ferocity whenever he uses an ability. Upon reaching 4 Ferocity, his next basic ability is empowered, can be cast independently of its basic version's cooldown, incurs no cooldown of its own, grants Rengar 30 / 40 / 50% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds, and consumes all of his Ferocity. All Ferocity is lost after being out of combat for 7 seconds.

3. Bonetooth Necklace: Rengar gains a trophy whenever a champion he damaged in the previous second dies. Rengar can only gain one trophy per enemy champion, up to 5, with an additional trophy made available through the event The Hunt is On!.

1 Trophy: Rengar gains 1 (+ 2% bonus AD) bonus attack damage.
2 Trophies: Rengar gains 3 (+ 6% bonus AD) bonus attack damage.
3 Trophies: Rengar gains 6 (+ 12% bonus AD) bonus attack damage.
5 Trophies: Rengar gains 15 (+ 30% bonus AD) bonus attack damage.
Head of Kha'Zix: Rengar gains 21 (+ 42% bonus AD) bonus attack damage.
____________________________________________________________________________________________

Rengar's passive takes a lot of management.
Bonetooth necklace allows him to snowball easier, so make sure you're involved in as many kills as possible.
Unseen predator allows a lot more mobility and a gap closer on a 0 CD.
Ferocity is what makes Rengar, Rengar. Being able to properly manage this bar allows you to fully use Rengar's power. It also allows a lot more diversity in gameplay/playstyle.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
oo
Q - Savagery: Rengar slashes all enemies in an arc in the target direction before piercing all enemies in line, dealing physical damage per strike.
「 Physical Damage per strike: 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 (+ 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70% bonus AD) 」

Empowered Savagery: Savagery's total physical damage is increased to 120 - 392 (based on level) (+ 240% bonus AD).

COOLDOWN: 6 / 5.5 / 5 / 4.5 / 4
____________________________________________________________________________________________

This is Rengar's main ability. It's high AD scaling, low cooldown and AA cancelling feautures means Rengar is always ready for a fight. Especially on 3 stacks of Ferocity, you can Q and then empowered Q instantly for insane damage. Use this ability whenever possible.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
oo
W - Battle Roar: Rengar lets out a battle roar, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and healing Rengar for his Grey Health.

Magic Damage: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+ 80% AP)

Empowered Battle Roar: Battle Roar's base magic damage is modified to 50 - 220 (based on level), will remove all active crowd control effects, as well as granting him crowd control immunity for 1.5 seconds, in addition to its normal heal.

RANGE: 500
COOLDOWN: 12
____________________________________________________________________________________________

This ability is just plain annoying to the enemy team. It's healing means you automatically become more tanky and harder to kill, and the empowered version just means you can barely be touched.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
oo
E - Bola Strike: Rengar throws a bola in the target direction, dealing physical damage to
the first enemy hit and slowing them for an amount that decays over 2.5 seconds.
Physical Damage: 50 / 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 (+ 70% Bonus AD)
Slow: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80%

Empowered Bola Strike: Bola Strike's base physical damage is increased to 50 - 340
(based on level) and using it roots its target for 1.75 seconds.
RANGE: 1000
COOLDOWN: 10
____________________________________________________________________________________________

This is your main tool for ganking. You can ult, then E mid-leap and once you've got your 4 stacks, you can E again for a snare and a guaranteed kill. Even without being empowered, your E's slow mixed with stalkers smite is crazy.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
oo
R - Thrill of the Hunt: Rengar channels his predatory instincts, becoming camouflaged after 2 seconds, gaining Sight icon unit vision of the nearest enemy champion, who he can leap to for a guaranteed critical strike.

While camouflaged, Rengar gains bonus movement speed.

Vision Radius: 2000 / 3000 / 4000

Bonus Movement Speed: 15 / 30 / 45%
RANGE: 1450
COOLDOWN: 130 / 100 / 70
____________________________________________________________________________________________

This is good for multiple things. You can use it to catch up, gank sneakily, or run away. You can even use it to jump onto dragon and steal it if need be. With more bonetooth necklace stacks, this ability becomes really strong and even more effective

Items

o

o
oo Hunters Machete - The basic starting jungling item for Melee junglers, as Talisman doesn't help with AA based junglers.
o

o
oo Stalkers/Skirmishers/Trackers - This upgrade is 100% preference and based fully off playstyle. Stalkers is my personal favourite as it almost guarantees a kill if you for some reason miss your E. Skirmishers is good for bruisers who take a few hits to kill someone (Master Yi). And Trackers is good for people with good kill potential already (Lee sin/Elise).
o

o
oo Warrior Enchantment - Just by looking at the stats you can see how it is the best for Rengar. Lots of AD mixed with CDR is just perfect.
o

o
oo Enchantment: Cinderhulk - Good for Tank Rengar as it helps with extra bonus HP and the AoE Damage passively.
o

o
oo Edge of Night - This item is the new best item for Rengar. It offers everything Youmuu’s does but with a spellshield and MR!!! This item has became my new favourite for Rengar and I always build it.
o

o
oo Ionian Boots of Lucidity - An amazingly cheap and efficient item for Rengar due to the 10% CDR and 300 Gold savings from most boots. Good to get when you're in front early and looking to go for a pickaxe/tiamat.
o

o
oo Boots of Mobility - If you're behind and need to have more map presence to get yourself ahead, these help a lot. Plus they are an easy switch to Lucidity once you're in front.
o

o
oo Ravenous Hydra - Ravenous Hydra just adds to the burst damage. With it's high damage built in and its AoE cleave, activating it makes one shotting much more simple.
o

o
oo Titanic Hydra - A wonderful item for Tank Rengar as it's cleave damage it based off your HP. Rengar's high base AD means tank is still pretty good even without full damage.
o

o
oo Youmuu's Ghostblade - Combined with your ult, noone can get away from you. It's Armor Pen is good, but by removing attack speed, Edge of Night is just better. The 10% CDR helps a lot too.
o

o
oo Infinity Edge - This item is really good on Rengar. Without the Crit Chance, his one-shot potential is amazing, but if you get a 20% chance crit, it's an easy kill.
o

o
oo Bloodthirster - With your Q being able to lifesteal, this item's high AD and lifesteal perks helps to allow Rengar to 1v5, as well as fully lifesteal after a fight.
o

o
oo Blade of the Ruined King - The extra % HP Damage helps with getting past the tough tanks like Voli and Garen. The lifesteal also helps if you subsitute BT for this.
o

o
oo Lord Dominik's Regards - With a slight decrease in total AD, the armor pen makes up for it against big tanks like Garen and Volibear, as well as your passive means that the slightly lower AD is nothing. A good item when there are too many to deal with.
o

o
oo Black Cleaver - This works well with tank rengar as his full combo means all 5 stacks are on the target for full armor pen. This gives your team a major advantage in team fights against certain targets, as well as giving you 20% CDR and tank stats.
o

o
oo Randuin's Omen - Good against ADC's and Yasuo. This shuts them down by decreasing attack speed and their crit damage.
o

o
oo Spirit Visage - A really good item for the new Rengar as it gives lots of HP, HP Regen, CDR and MR, meaning he can sustain a lot while still outputting damage from other items.
o

Combos (Video's need updating)

Rengar has a few combos that allow him to be diversely played instead of just a damaging stacking machine.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
o
1. The "team/gank" combo (used for allies)
Jump from Ult/Bush for first ferocity stack > E mid air > Q > W > E again for a snare (or Q if low enough).
____________________________________________________________________________________________
o

____________________________________________________________________________________________
o
2. The "One-shot" (used for late game or solo kills)
Leap from bush or Ult > E mid air > Q after landing> W > Empowered Q > Dead
____________________________________________________________________________________________
o
____________________________________________________________________________________________
o
3. The "quick thinker"[/code]
The normal combo except W if you change your mind on the engage or need a quick escape because the fight went badly.

Early Game

o
Usually you start Red Buff on both sides of the map, with the help of your Top/Bot laners. Put your first point into Q. The way you want to start Red Buff is with being in a bush > Leaping to Red Buff > Q > AA > AA etc. This makes it so you can get an extra Auto in before Smiting to finish the buff. After Red Buff, Put a point in your W then walk over to Kruggs. As you get to Krugs, Q > AA > W > AA. Pressing Q the moment the auto registers and Q again instantly as your ferocity hits 4, since the 2nd Q cancels the animation as well. Then Auto/Q/W until Krugs and it's spawnlings are dead. Head on over to raptors and stand in the middle before using W. Then walk to the outside of them and Q the entire pack, then stsrt autoing the small raptors. You can smite the Raptors. After the camp, you will be level 3, put a point into you E and go to Scuttler in the river and leap from bush > Q > W > E for max stacks and just AA to kill it. Almost full health and all abilities, you can look at the lanes to go for a gank.
oo
From here on, you move to assisting your lanes, mainly with the "Team/Gank" combo. This ensures both you and your laners get a substantial lead, so you can dominate Mid Game.

Guide Top

Mid Game

o
When you get to mid game, the ideal situation is you having 5 or more kills, a few stacks on your necklace, and at least two of your lanes ahead/fed. Your role now moves on from assisting your lanes, too catching people out in alone lanes and killing them to push the tower. Do this for every 1st Tier tower if it's not already down, and when they are, switch to getting objectives such as dragon or rift herald/baron instead. With a dragon or too ahead, Team Fights and 2nd Tier towers become your main focus. With this kind of lead either finish out the game, or drag it into late game. Luckily, late game becomes a sinch.
o

Guide Top

Late Game

o
Usually, the Late game wouldn't really come if you're ahead as someone like Rengar. If you are still unaware at shotcalls to end the game, late game can sneak up on you and the enemy can start getting stronger and your lead smaller. If this does happen, in team fights try taking out the ADC or APC first, as they will do the most damage on the enemy team. Use the "One-Shot" combo to kill these two, and the "Team/Gank" combo to keep the rest held in place so your team can follow up and kill them. Keeping the jungle warded is also very crucial, as it can lead to a kill on a wandering ADC, meaning team fights are so much easier, and you can take baron/inhibs.
