ADC twitch Guide for preseason
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
12/29-Made the guide and made a few edits
I plan to make this look MUCH better than what it is right now and hopefully very soon!
Reason for this Guide
Hello all! i finally decided to make a build for Twitch, who is a very fun ADC. This is my first guide, so please do not hate on me about how bad this is going to be. But anyways, this is my own custom build i've been trying for awhile and it works almost all of the time!
Pros/Cons of Twitch
+Has Best or 2nd best late game scaling out of any ADC
+Really long range abilities
+Venom Cask and Expunge make it easy to catch runners
+Very Strong harasser
+Potential for tons of damage to an entire team!
+Mastering twitch makes you a better player.
+Outduels most other carries
-Brings little CC to fights
-TWITCH IS NOT TANKY!
-Reliant on a decent team composition for effective use
-Gets focused in team fights, if he's too close
-No quick escape spells (besides Flash)
-Cannot lane bottom without a support
-Early game is nothing special
-Gets messed up by assassins
The reason I picked these runes I will go over:
Attack Damage Marks: standard for all adc's.
1* I tend to add one crit chance rune just in case i get that small crit early on.
Armor yellows: standard
Magic Resist blues: Standard
Lifestal quints: why i only went two is because twitch is desperate for more damage than anything, but he also needs lifesteal as well. that is why i take one AD quint along with getting 4% lifesteal for my runes.
My masteries are very standard and are the normal for most ADC's, however, i like to switch it up in the defense tree because although it seems that 4-6 damage reduced from auto-attacks is nothing, it actually does help in lane, which is why i take those masteries over others.
Twitch's basic attacks apply a stack of Deadly Venom, dealing 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 true damage per second for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 6 times for a minimum of 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 and maximum of 72 / 144 / 216 / 288 total true damage over the duration.
This is a very strong passive, and gets annoying for the enemy team and occasionally yourself as well! overall, this is what makes twitch himself. all other poison-damaging enemies are magic damage-over time, but his is true damage!
COST: 60 MANA
ACTIVE: For 1.25 seconds, Twitch attempts to enter stealth, which may be delayed by up to 3 seconds if he takes damage before he goes invisible. While in stealth, Twitch gains 20% bonus movement speed.
When Twitch unstealths, he gains bonus attack speed for 5 seconds. Casting spells or attacking will end his stealth prematurely.
STEALTH DURATION: 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8
ATTACK SPEED: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70%
This is the ability that makes Twitch a true assassin. At max rank, this is an 8 second stealth! you could literally sneak up on anyone you wanted to and (hopefully) escape or get a kill.
COOLDOWN: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9
COST: 50 MANA
ACTIVE: Twitch hurls a cask of venom at an area, infecting struck enemies with 2 stacks of Deadly Venom and slowing them for 3 seconds.
PROJECTILE SPEED: 1400
SLOW: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%
This is a very strong ability, as it allows twitch to catch up to a great number of people and stay on them like a bug! the +2 stacks to your helps greatly and allows you to use those stacks to your advantages with your other abilities!
COOLDOWN: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8
COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 MANA
ACTIVE: Twitch expunges all nearby enemies afflicted by Deadly Venom, dealing physical damage equal to a base amount plus bonus damage for each stack of Deadly Venom on an enemy.
BASE PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80
BONUS DAMAGE PER STACK: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 (+ 20% AP) (+ 25% bonus AD)
MAX PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 110 / 155 / 200 / 245 / 290 (+ 120% AP) (+ 150% bonus AD)
This is what makes twitch so strong in lane as well as in general. for every stack, you get more damage to do to champions. most people who don't know twitch say "oh im safe, the poison won't be able to kill me" WRONG I PRESSED E I GOT THE KILL.
Spray and Pray
COOLDOWN: 120 / 110 / 100
COST: 100 / 125 / 150 MANA
Spray and Pray
ACTIVE: For 7 seconds, Twitch gains bonus attack damage and 300 attack range. Additionally, each of his basic attacks will pierce enemies in an 850 length line, with each unit struck reducing the attack's damage by 20% down to a minimum of 40% damage.
ATTACK DAMAGE: 20 / 28 / 36
And we get to the ultimate, which is probably the best, long-ranged ult that can change a teamfight in the ADC realm of the champions. He first gains Extra AD, i mean, who doesnt love more AD? second, he gains 300 attack range! he already has 550 range, so he could easily just shoot from his tower in a teamfight and be able to dish out a lot of damage! and lastly, all of his auto attacks hit enemies BEHIND the initial target, which means everyone in the straight line receives stacks of poison, so press E=MOAR DAMAGEEEEE. overall, this ability just wipes enemies off the map and is great for any teamfight.
I tend to max my E first because it is his strongest ability, next to his ult.
I always get E level one, and then i get my W level 2 and get my Q at level 4.
Now what I do differently is when you reach level 7, most players tend to put a point into their W. However, I put that point into Q. Now why would you do that?? well, his stealth at level 1 only lasts 4 seconds, and if you are trying to escape, almost always you can't escape that quickly. level 2 it lasts 5 seconds, and all the way up to 8 seconds! If you just got that extra point early on, it is much better for you and your team so you can sneak up on your enemies more often and quicker.
I then put points into Q until it is level 4!!!! not level 5. unless you know it will be a quick game, there is no need to put that 5th point in until you are 18. you then max your W for the last few levels Prior to 18.
And also any point you can take into your ultimate, DO IT PLEASE.
Viable Summoner Spells:
Flash is your only escape if your Q is down. You have no escapes other than flash. Flash is a MUST ON TWITCH
Other Summoner Spells:
Barrier: if you are laning against a Caitlyn, draven, vayne, etc or if you are in low elo (like me) and shouldn't run cleanse.
Cleanse: that is your next best option if you are facing against High-CC teams with, for example, Cho'gath, Leona, Sona, Shen, Etc.
ignite: If you want to go SUPER aggressive against the enemy, take this, but know you will not have any sort of defense when in a teamfight.
Starting Item paths:
Doran's+Hp Pot=Most standard start for the "Meta" right now. it is the most viable, unless you want to go boots+4 hp pots, which is the next most viable, however, it's a weak start to begin with.
If you have the normal start of every ADC, you should be going back around when you are halfway through level 5 to just hitting level 6. on this back, you should have about 1,400 gold. my suggestion is to get a Vamp Scepter or a pickaxe or boots. these are your most viable starts to get ahead in lane. however, if you got, for example, first blood, then you should have about maybe 1800. you COULD buy a BF sword. I strongly disagree with this. At the low elo i am at, everyone does it. yes you have more damage, but to get more sustain and to have the chance to get boots with it is even better than having more damage. if you can't run away quick enough, then buying that BF sword was not worth it.
Try to finish parts of your Botrk as quick as possible. Try to finish boots too and if you have enuogh, start building into other items
Must have items:
Infinity Edge=Great Attack Damage, Great Crit chance, AMAZING passive. overall, a great item to have on any adc
Last whisper=Good Attack Damage, and great for dealing damage to tanky champions, such as nautilus, renekton, leona, etc.
Blade of the ruined king=Attack Damage, Attack Speed, Lifesteal, Passive, active all are amazing on adc's. with twitch, this works better than a blood thirster. in teamfights, you will be standing in the back with your ult, hitting everyone that comes into your range, which if tanks are in front, you will shred through them like nothing.
I will now go over the Pick your Poison! section and go over my rating of them on twitch:
I would pick this on twitch because it goes great with IE and it gives movement speed, and attack speed, which all benefit Twitch greatly.
I never go this on twitch, however, my friends have given me valid reasons on why it works well with him. it works with his passive, and if you have to clear waves at your tower, basically "GOLD FOR DAYSSSSSSS". also, the attack speed buff is great with twitch in general.
This is a great item to add to the shop, however, compared to other items for twitch, this item does not do that well. Yes i have tried this in games before, but it doesnt work that well as PD or even Runaan's.
Sword of the Divine=9/10
This item is an unknown item to basically everyone. it gives 45% attack speed, but not while the active is on cooldown. although it sounds similar to another runaan's, it's not. the Active reads that "Gain 100% attack Speed and 100% critical Strike Chance for 3 seconds or 3 Critical Strikes. 60 Second Cooldown"
Now imagine a teamfight with your ally J4 just ulting about 4 people of the enemy team. you ult, and activate the divine. BOOM THEY ARE ALL LOW AFTER THAT. first off, you will have about 250 attack damage, along with 100% crit, and an IE. so therefore, after calculations=
625 attack damage for those 3 hits, without taking in armor penetration, armor, or similar. this item is AMAZING with Twitch, his ult needs the crit and damage and just needs the boost that Divine gives you. I HIGHLY reccomend getting it on twitch
The attack speed, attack damage, CDR, and movement all help any ADC regardless of who it is. the passive is what makes it even more amazing. the tenacity helps so much in teamfights because if you are focused down, getting that CC off you is hard because, well, you're an adc.
Lastlu, Defensive items can range on what you prefer, but the Meta is Guardian Angel, and i do enjoy coming back to life.
