Kassadin is very weak in early game. That doesn't mean you can't harass the other mid champion with Null Sphere. Before Kassadin is level 6, you should should not be very aggressive to enemy champion because they will win the trade. Just silence them, and focus on last hitting. When your farming, DO NOT USE NULL SPHERE TO LAST HIT MINIONS. The only reason is because of that extra mana use when you could be using that mana to harass the other champion.

Before you go back to base, you need to make sure you have at least 925 gold to finish your catalyst the protector (unless your really low). By the time your level 6, you can be more aggressive because riftwalk provides an amazing escape and for a better range of using null sphere.

Also try to get the blue buff as soon as possible to reduce the need for going back to base for mana.

You need to be careful from Kassadin's Riftwalk. Yes, it's a great skill, but be careful not to overuse it unless you are running away from an enemy champion. Tears of Goddess is a good item to counter the extra mana use of this skill.

Each champion has a useless skill. Kassadin's is Nether Blade. In early game, you going to do most of your farming at the tower. So when the tower hits the melee minion two times, last hit with Nether Blade. When the tower attacks the ranged fighter once, last hit with the Nether Blade. Also to generate mana to harass the enemy champion more.

It's pretty easy

Step 1. make sure the bush isn't warded by placing a vision ward in it

Step 2. make sure that your force pulse stacks are at 4 or 5

Step 3. Let the enemy push, Riftwalk, silence, force pulse, basic attack with nether blade, and ignite for the kill

The reason I would not start with boots of speed is because one null sphere at level 1 will take about 1/5 of your total mana... That's not a lot of mana to harass!! Take a Doran's Ring if you dont have enough for a blasting wand. After you finish your Catalyst and Sorcerer's Boots, you should be building to Rabadon's Deathcap. If you go back and only have for a blasting wand, just finish Rod of Ages. I don't take Sheen because it's useless. I mean all of Kassadin's damage comes from his spells, not his melee attacks.

It's pretty simple when not to play Kassadin.

1. AP player auto locks in blind pick and doesn't care what you think (then ends up feeding)

2. During a ranked game when your first pick because first pick Kassadin always gets countered
