Not Updated For Current Season
This build is a hybrid build for Kennen. I made this build to make Kennen less squishy and increase his survivability percentage. This Kennen is best for 1 VS 1 battles. This is also experimental. I've tried building it but games always finish at 30min-45min (Too Fast!).
Shuriken-- This skill is the lowest damage dealing skill of Kennen (next to surge) so this is pretty useless except the fact that it adds a mark of the storm. Another con is that this is a very short ranged skill.
This skill has the lowest damage, adds mark of the storm and hits anyone with a mark on them. So if you calculate this, at its highest level, he deals 185 x ANY NUMBER of opponents.
The most useful skill in my opinion, it's great for escaping, chasing, temporarily adding extra resist and armor, refund on energy and of course adding a mark.
Maelstorm-It's great with a decent combo but alone it's pretty useless with this build because it can only hit a target 3 times plus it has a very small radius.
Pros and Cons
-Stuns(1.5 sec) are not wasted
-Scarer(Deals large damage and scares enemies)
-Movement speed is still (as always) slow
-Very low energy regen rate :(
Runes and Masteries
As I said before this is experimental so I thought that on each rune type, 2 atk speed increase and 3 cooldowns. The Quintessence is Cooldown. You may try other runes but don't take mana runes! LOL!
Since Kennen is squishy, I put it all on defense, but I think putting it at either of the three is still fine.
ANYTHING WILL DO! except CLARITY
When you get spells like exhaust which have short range you might want to think it over.
You need to be really quick and fast.
I'm using Ignite and Teleport (which isn't really useful at team fights)
Let's cut to the chase!
Go for Boots first, it helps not only on MS but also for saving money.
(You may use Doran's Shield)
Upgrade your boots to Swiftness. The swiftness boots are really useful to me because most characters run faster than him. But Any other boots will do.
Go for Madred's BloodRazor next to start the AD/AS build. In, my opinion all its stats are useful and hybrid.
The next item could either be Frozen Mallet or Black Cleaver, whichver one you feel you need.
(Usually Black Cleaver if you think you're winning it, Frozen Mallet for safe play) Make sure you get both!
For the fourth item, get Guinsoo's Rageblade for extra power and attack speed or any tank item.(Again, if you think you're winning it get Guinsoo's but if otherwise get that tank item)
I put Force of Nature as the recommended item because Physical Damagers will usually get defeated with this build even without this, thus leaving the magic dealers to cope up with . You can get any tank item you like. I would prefer Zhonya's or Randuin's.
You might ask: where's Rylai's Scepter in this build?
For me, you won't need it in this build cause again it's AD/AS build!
On the Battlefield 5v5 only
Always remember: NEVER GO GREED IF YOU'RE NOT POSITIVELY SURE ABOUT IT
At early game it is important to get the money not the kills.
At middle lane if you play safe you will not get killed but you will absolutely be pushed.
-NEVER ENGAGE IN COMBAT!
-Identify their spells first and think!
-For example Ashe, she slows but her health is weak but her attacks are greater than yours. What to do? Spam some skills and try to stun her without hurting yourself.
-Just attack 'em, can't kill(maybe some semi-tanks).
-Teamwork with bruisers. I find them really good with Kennen. I recommend Jax!
-Remember, if you want a kill go for the carries if not then, bruisers and tank is your last choice.
Personally I think Kennen is better off Side Laning.
(Only for one on one confrontation)
If enemy notices you
Try saving an auto attack. Auto-attack target. If he doesn't get a bit back, Lightning Rush quickly otherwise don't. Then Surge and keep attacking (If you got your items, they'll have very low life). And repeat starting with rush. Note: If you run out of stuns, use your Ultimate or Maelstorm.
If you're hiding
Use shuriken if you can aim properly. If not/it misses, use Rush -> Surge -> Ulti(If not stunned yet) then just attack and repeat skills if you wish to go after enemy or if you want to play safe, don't follow.
Why would I wanna try this out?
Well I've tested this on other Kennens or fighting against Kennen.
On Full AP Kennen:
If you get to stun them first you can quickly wipe them out. And even if you get stunned first they can't kill you as easily as you can kill them 'cause you have magic resist plus health bonus on your damage dealing item-- Frozen Mallet.
On Tank type Kennen:
They might live longer than you but since tanks usually get the best of both worlds(mix of magic resist and armor) their resist is pretty useless because this build only need its skills for stunning.
That's it for my build. Hope this helps a lot.
