This is my first guide with my favorite mid champion. My name is Janis , im 28y old and im from Latvia. With this guide I want to show my way of playing malza and playing mid in general, hope some players will get something usefull for them from this.
This guide/build will not be colorfull and stuff like that, just info you need.
Pros / Cons
Pros: Great damage, cc (if q in good timed on carry ap), lots of hp/mp regen, max cd with blue, great speed, great line sustain, great farm.
Cons: Will be focused, need to learn when to land Q and on what to land E to be effective, no escape skill only thing you can do is run and if you are good place your Q so your enemy who is running after you will run in to it and will not be able to use skills (life saver sometimes)
Usual 21/0/9 in this case im only making him faster adding + to speed and +in buff duration is a must, no comments needed there.
Imo malza is great farmer if you get use to his E on a right mob in a right time, its also works great as a harassing tool, you land E on some mob who is low hp and near enemy and it will jump right on enemy after 1-2 sec.
Q is great CC tool+ main damage dealer, so why you don't max it first? Simply cos there is too much % that enemy will walk out of it and you will get low on mp by spamming it, people are not dumb and most will just get out the line still when team fight comes Q is your best friend and ally.
Also you need to focus mobs that have your E on to be good in farm, daaaa, thats a news flash.
Moving speed runes + mastery are great , usually when you play ap and have flash on cd you are such an easy target , not in this case, if you are using wards and +- in time notice jungkler there is no way he can get to you. CD and mp regen runes are just for better sustain and farm/harassing.
There are 2 items that imo makes good or bad mid player.
1. Sustain item - mana regen , so you can spam skills and get these mobs and gold + harass enemy
2. Wards - I think there are 2 types of people , one read chat and wait for SS others just look at minimap, I never even care if my team says ss or no cos its so easy to always look at minimap and count how many enemy you see there , if someone is missing = you might be ganged , its that simple. Wards are MUST in case if you want to feel safe in mid and know when you can push and when you must go back and hug turret.
Flash and ignite, always , only. Malza is damage dealer and carry so you need to get these kills, ignite is your best friend to do it + you can cast it while your ulti is on so target cannot escape. Flash is simply must on malza so you can flash--> Ulti someone to stop him and your team can jump on him and kill.
In a team malza is like a wall that can sometimes keep enemy team from engaging , they know that you can stun, they know that you can silance and when group of mobs come you eat them up with E + get your E on someone of enemy team wtill staying safe. Also malza can be the one who starts teamfight, I had times when enemy carry comes juuust a little bit out of his team to finish mob and then you just flash - ulti and if your team is good thet carry is down and your team have advantage.
Malza is also good at helping on baron with W.
Speedy malza is great ganger ,great damage dealer and great mid in all ways. In a way to be good on him you need to get use targeting minions who have his E on, that way you get lots of mp back and can easy dominate mid line.
b4 going to gang for first blood use your Q 3 times so on 4th you can stun all enemy team and your voidling will do extra damage.
when running from someone try to land your Q so enemy will run in it and can not use skills on you
in teamfight try to Q enemy ap carry so he cannot use skills
it is useless to build vamp on malza , if you will be focused and there is no good support or tank to save you and watch your back you will die anyway but having some extra hp is worth it , noone will be able to flawless guard you, some damage will get to you and you need to survive that some damage until your tank/support is starting to cc enemy who is after you
