Introduction

So I noticed there weren't any good Brand builds floating around, and decided I would make the one that I have been using every time I play as him.

Runes

I try to build a Brand that will deal tons of damage mid and late game, but be able to survive against another AP in the middle lane at the beginning of the game. For marks I decided magic pen would be most helpful, while glyphs and quintessences I get AP for damage output. The glyph of force gives more AP at level 6 than it's flat brother, so I decided to go with it. As for seals I think that magic resist is very helpful early game for mid lane.

This is just my common AP mastery build, I haven't really put much thought into why and what not.

Items

I like to play Brand very aggressively, and that requires tons of MP. I start of getting Athene's Unholy Grail because it is the best magic regen item and gives 90 ability power. Then I try for more survivability and get a Hextech Revolver and then start building up my AP with a Rabadon. After I have the ability power to go toe to toe with other APs, I get a Will of the Ancients for more spell vamp and team fight bonuses. I then get Rylai's Crystal scepter for the slowing effect, and then a Deathfire Grasp to destroy enemy tanks.

Skill Sequence

I prefer to build up Pillar of Flame as soon as possible, early game it's good for CC and also pestering the enemy champ.I get Sear maxed next because of the stunning effect, and Conflagration last because I don't see much usefulness for it in fights, other then keeping an enemy on fire and for extra CC. Of course I take the Ult at 6,11, and 16.

Summoner Spells

An aggressively played character needs some method of escape and pursuit, so I go for Flash. Heal keeps Brand alive early game and is great for tricking enemies into thinking you're almost dead. In team fights I like to use Heal and Flash then Pyroclasm the enemies who chase me, leaving them dead or weak for the rest of my team to finish off.

Summary

All in all, Brand is the guy I like to use for dealing maximum damage to group of enemies. For one on one fights I start of Pillar of Flames then I use Sear to stun, then his useless E to keep them aflame. In team fights I use Sear, then useless E to light all the other champs, then Pillar of Flames to deal maximum damage. I like using Pyroclasm while running because it deals insane amounts of damage to two or three people in a group. Try to stay behind your teammates for most fights, because Brand is still an AP and is pretty squishy.
