Introduction

Hello, Inferno2025 here again. This time I'll be showing you how I build Swain, the Master Tactition.

Runes

I chose the above Runes on Swain because I play him with no mana issues during early game, and the damage that he is able to put out with the combonation of Doran's Ring and Rune AP is enough to keep your enemies at bay.

If you find yourself having mana issues early game, you can replace the Seals for Mana per 5 Runes to help with your regeneration.

Masteries

The Utility Masteries that I have chosen are, in my opinion, ideal for lane staying early game by giving you a better opportunity to farm harder than your enemy. The two mana regeneration masteries, Perserverance and Meditation are always enough to keep your mana at an acceptable level while harassing your enemy. The Spell Penetration in Offense is also a good choice because it benefits your spells when you do go to harass your enemy.

Items

Doran's Ring: The early game health, mana regeneration, and ability power are all ***est to swain.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity: His spells all have relatively long cooldowns, so the 15% alone reduces them by about 2 seconds each.
Rod of Ages: Getting this early in the game (around 16-20 minutes) is essential, giving AP, Health, and Mana.
(If you are getting fed) Mejai's Soulstealer: Great for getting some mid/late game AP to mow through your enemies. It gives a total of 180 AP plus 30% from Rabadon's if you have it, which would make it 234 AP!
Rylai's Crystal Scepter: This is amazing when used for the slow on your Ultimate, Ravenous Flock, giving you extra time to set up your Nevermove.
Rabadon's Deathcap: Just your basic 'Oh look, I have 350 AP now. :3'
Zhonya's Hourglass: Swain's Bread and Butter. If you think you're going to die, pop this bad boy while in your raven form and heal without worry.

Skill Sequence

For Solo 1v1 Fights:
Swain is probably one of the better champions at level six, because hisRaven Form heals so much at that level. If they get in your range, and you think you have a clear advantage, use yourDecrepify (Q) to slow then down, blasting then withTorment (E) then leading yourNevermove (W) to get them down to about half. You could follow up with another'Laser Bird' if its off cooldown, hitting yourultimate andignite for the continued DoT.

For Teamfights of 2v2 or greater:
Pretty much the same thing as the 1v1 fight, honestly. Throw yourQ andE up on one enemy, then try to position yourW so that it can hit the greatest number of enemies. If yourignite is ready, you could use that to nuke someone down before they have time to react, then just running around in yourRaven Form, continuing to use your abilities on cooldown until the teamfight is yours.

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells that you should take on Swain:
Ignite - The extra DoT on your target is great, and can easily pick up a kill.
Flash - Can be used for a quick getaway, or as an easy way to obtain a kill.
Ghost - Great for chasing enemies with your 'Laser Bird'. Can also be used for a getaway, but be wary of lockdowns/stuns/massive slows.
Teleport - Very useful. Getting back to lane, saving a tower, flanking your enemy on a nearby ward.

Summoner Spells that you could take on Swain:
Clarity - It does give you about 80% of your mana back, but can easily be not used by conserving mana at early levels.
Clairvoyance - Could be taken to have tons of map awareness, but if you have a support on your team, they should carry it instead.

Summoner Spells that you should not take on Swain:
Exhaust - You have your own slow on your Q.
Heal - You are basically 'Invincibird' while in your R.
Revive - Again, maybe in a 3v3, but otherwise no.
Smite - Swain is not a jungle!
Cleanse - It could be used to get out of ganks, but otherwise not that useful.
Fortify - Same as before, mainly tanks should take this.
Rally - Sorry, not an AD champ this time.
