Kennen The Heart Of The Tempest
So i have been playing since level 6 Now, Im now level 23. Its been about 1 Month. I feel alot of people have never seen the DPS side of Kennen, Hes judged to be a AP character which disappoints me as he has untapped potential.
I have Trialed Diffrent builds and this Is the best mix of Health, And Damage i can find. Any tips comment.
Kennen AP or DPS Is always a Mid Charecter.
He has a Great mix of Passive (Mark of the Storm) and Skill shots (Thundering SHurkine) to optimise his gaming capacity.
My Routine For Mid Is as follows.
-Firstly Start By getting as much kills on the minions as possible.
-When The opponent see's your not entirely going for him he will close in.
-Try Occasionaly harrasing with a Clear shuriken to the Face.
-Once your mark of the storm is on make sure you use it to your advantage Stun your oppenent and get some free hits away.
-By level 6 you should have killed the opponent once with some low hp Flashing in Thundering shurkining and Igniting the opponent.
- At level 6 Hit your Ult Instantly Followed by Lightening rush and Flash beside your opent Then Electrical surge your oppenent following up with a Ignite to finish it.
TS --- Thunder Shuriken
ES --- Eletrical Surge
LR --- Lightning Rush
Ult -- Slicing Maelstrom/Ultimate
Pros / Cons, With attackspeed kennen!
- Awsome single target crowd control
- A great counter to those pesky tanks
- Carry potential
- Can go into tankmode if so needed
- Alot more reliable dmg than AP
- You feel like a total boss when u stun lock a carry
- Really great on killing dragon/baron fast
- Can jungle when you got your Madreds
- People don't take you seriusly, they won't focus you intill they notice u rape faces
- Lesser AOE Dmg
- Not as nuky as AP kennen
- A little bit weaker early/mid game
- Can't snipe stealthers :<
Flash is a overall good spell, but it is very situational. It will save your life if you are close to a wall and can blink over it, but if your in a lane, Ghost will be better if you know what your doing.
Ignite is always nice for the extra damage and the 50% healing reduction, also a good pick, Reccomend this with most characters for those final kills.
Mark of the Storm
Kennen's abilities add Marks of the Storm to opponents which last for 8 seconds. Upon receiving 3 Marks, an opponent is stunned for 1 second and Kennen receives 25 energy. The stun has a diminished effect if applied more than once within 7 seconds.
Throws a shuriken that damages the first enemy it hits for 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+66% of ability power) magic damage and adds a Mark of the Storm.
Cost 65 / 60 / 55 / 50 / 45 mana | Range 25000
Passive: Every 5 attacks, Kennen deals magic damage equal to 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80% of his attack damage and adds a Mark of the Storm to his target.
Active: Surges electricity through all nearby targets afflicted by Mark of the Storm, dealing 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+45% of ability power) magic damage and adding another mark.
Cost 45 mana | Range 800
Kennen moves very fast and gains the ability to pass through units, dealing 85 / 125 / 165 / 205 / 245 (+55% of ability power) magic damage and adding a Mark of the Storm to any hostile unit he passes through.
Kennen is refunded 40 energy if he passes through an enemy while using this spell, but can only gain this effect once. Lightning Rush deals half damage to minions.
Cost 110 mana | Range 200
Summons a magical storm that deals 80 / 145 / 210 (+33% of ability power) magic damage to a random enemy champion near Kennen every 0.5 seconds. This storm attacks up to 6 / 8 / 10 times and cannot hit the same target more than 3 times.
A Mark of the Storm is applied to enemies on the first bolt they are hit by.
Cost 40 mana | Range 20
Open up with aTry and run threw/by all the enemies so they all get marks of the storm. Use ato get your 2nd mark on them, and do some very strong damage. Throw onethen Blow your Ultand start using your abilities as the Cool-downs are up. Depending on how many people you hit with your ult/AoE abilities, they should be dying by now, Kennen is AMAZING for team fights, so when you learn to maximize him in team fight situations, you will make the enemies fear kennen! :)
When Do you initiate?
Things to remember when initiating::
1. How much energy do you have?
2. Is your next auto attack going to apply a Mark of the Storm?
3. How many Marks of the Storm does your target currently have on them.
These 3 things are really going to make or break if you get a kill or not, if you start to initiate with 70 energy, you wont kill anyone because your auto attack isn't THAT strong. I have noticed, ALOT of people dont see the power of your *Next* auto attack applying mark of the storm. Its an extra 30-80 damage, and your already 1/3rd of a way to a stun! You should always try and initiate when your next attack will add a mark of the storm.
First off, I am going to start of saying that I believe that Kennen is one of if not the strongest Mid's in the game. I have yet to find a mid that can really give me problems, and I almost always get first blood at level 6. With that being said, Start out with a DoransShield . Some kennens will start with a Amplifying Tomb, and some people will start with Doran's Ring (worthless imo). The shield will keep you in your lane till ATLEAST level 8, and you should be at least at 1800 gold by that point. Remember to last hit as many minions as possible, and Use your Q to harass/last hit, its on a short CD and it does some good damage. Only recall out if you are getting very low, or you really feel like you might die, Know your enemies abilities, and Calculate how much damage they COULD do to you, dont get overly Cocky, but don't be scared to stay in your lane and last hit/level up.
Kennen Early game can be slighlty Squishy so make sure your not "HEY GUYS IM BOSS LETS GO AT THEM" Play it cool and make sure you get those kills where and when on your terms.
1. Harass harass harass, I can't say it enough. Kennen is Godlike at it, so why not utilize his key use.
2. You are not a tank. Don't go in first or you will suffer the consequences.
3. Be there for every Team fight, you can be a Huge TF changer.
4. Remember your Role, Kennen is there to Stun, lock down, interrupt, and pick kids off.
5. Look out for people with nasty AoE ability, and make them worthless (nunu's ult, kat's ult, Sona's Auras, etc.)
So what do i think?
When it comes to AS vs AP, i think AS is alot more fun and rewarding, yes i like AP also, but i think it fall flat on it's tummy when compared, the only thing it really got going for itself is the aoe dmg, and that aoe is not really that big!
When i look at stats after games and compare, i can see that AS kennen nearly always does more dmg than AP, And AS got a good mix of magic and normal damage, around 60% magic and 40% normal.
And the power to stun lock a enemy carry is nothing to laugh at, so many games i have survived against a shaco that thinks i am a easy kill, only to get stunlocked.
And the great antitank power you got is not bad either, with wits end u ussaly counter the carrys that build ur normal: Sunfire and FoN.
To round it upp, i don't get why people take Attack speed kennen like a inferior build to AP, yes AP got a strong early game, but i think it lacks late game if not fed. I have found i can easy get fed with only sorc boots and a dorans, with kennens strong base damage on spells.
