About me

My name is Powfooo, I started to play jungle since I started to play and now is my main Rol.
I'm the jungle of the Team Ghost wolves, and we normally play together in Flex, hope we see you some day!
But I normally want to play all in jungle (Even if that champ is not a jungle)
I main Warwick and Poppy in jungle, and when rakan was released I wanted to play it in the jungle, and it really works fine, but depends of the situation.

About Rakan

Rakan is something between Poppy and Udyr You have a lot of mobility and a good damage, but in the end, you will need your team.
Rakan Is a champ to play with and for your team, you will have damage and resistance thanks to your objects, but in early you will need your team beacuse you wont have enough resistance to kill someone by your own, as well in late you wont have the damage to kill someone by your own (If you are not feeded)
This means that rakan is a champ to play with your team.

Remember something important, as all champs, in early game, you are not tank, even if you go for it at level 3 you can not deal alone vs anyone, but in ganks, you can stun your enemies and let the kill to your team mates.

All the damage you will have will be thanks to the items, so in the end, you wont need to kill,so try to let the kills in early to your team and in late game, you can get all kills you want.

Something important, you will be the one who will start team fights thanks to your ult.

You can choose to be a support jungle as Ivern that's something useful, because if you need a tank support because you have an Hyper carry, your team don't need to play something like Karma if you want the Ardent Censer play Rakan will be nice for your team, in this way your team can play an AP Carry in Mid.

Rakan Is a mage, but don't forget something...
As i tell you, you need to buy the Nashor's Tooth to farm in the jungle, but not only that, because I experimented a lot with Rakan and his basic attacks are very dangerous, that means that you are not as the other mages, meanwhile your abilities are in cooldown in a 1 vs 1 you can use your basic attacks like if you were an ADC, dealing the magic damage of the Nashor's Tooth

At the beggining, I used to play rakan with Ghost , you don't really need the Flash to scape in the jungle or to go for some places, like Kayn does.
But is not only that, if you need to engage a team fight you need that Flash for the combo R-Flash-W and with Ghost the enemy team can see you comming, making you fail your stun or stunning and killing you, so play Flash

Runes

In the end, you are a "Mage" so in late game, you will have the damage, but take care, because you will not be as tank as you think, if you want to be a bit more tanky you can change the runes and be more support for you team, going more tanky and adding cooldown reduction but in the end remember that you need to do damage if you want to do something in the jungle vs the enemy jungle, even more if he is tank.

With the dominations and sorcery paths, you will be more mage than tank, but you can change your build, buying for example Spiritual visage if you need magic resistance, which will give you more HP restore potency for your Q.

Sudden Impact Will trigger after your W, so with this plus Electrocute will help you for a good gank in early.
With the new runes, Electrocute is something like the old thunderlord, but a bit worse.
You won't have the damage that the old Thunderlord does, but it helps a bit when you fight, but will need need to don't fail your shots with W-Q-Basic attack to trigger it.

Eyeball Collection Will give you the damage you will need if you go a bit tanky.
Don't forget something, if you go tank/support, you won't really have damage to be a target, just someone "Who is walking around" you need the damage.

Relentless Hunter Is something important for Rakan
You can choose, or that, or buy Speed boots to arrive faster to X line, or even to engage, so this is something you will need a lot.

If you can't farm well in early, at least you will arrive early where you wanna go, so with Celerity You can do that, don't forget the extra AP...

Think about it, when you and your team are fighting against someone or you gank, (For example in bot lane) you need to call a focus, you can do that with your W or your ult if needed. The objective is kill that target as soon as you can, that's because Scorch will help you with that mission.

Jungling with Rakan

I remember when Ivern was released, everyone was crazy because a support in jungle is something crazy, but with time, people found that interesting (Don't forget that Ivern was Tier 1 for a long time)
Rakan is something like that, but with damage and more CC.
The problem of champs like that is you can not do really much in early game because of your damage and your low resistance, but you have a lot of ways to counter that, like your CC, your shields and your W, that will help you a lot to take the control of the situations.

Having a Xayah in your team is always good, even when you are not next to her, it can help you a lot, ganking bot with the help of the support you won't let their ADC move, so your girlfriend can get a free kill.

Don't forget the rotations, think each step you do, give vision when you can and take care, you are not supposed to be a jungle and it's supposed you are not prepared for it (Which can change with a good build and runes) so in early game, take care, don't fight if you don't really need it.

Play for your team

Conclusion

In my opinion, Rakan is the best option to play with if your team needs a good cc, a good team fight initiation and better if the enemy jungle is not a tank.

In early you will have problems, with farm and with the damage, but with 3 object you will get all you need to do things right, choose a good team comb and take care of your team.

In full build, you are hard to be stopped, so good luck and protect the ones who you love.
Nice hunt.
