Introduction
Hello guys,
Here is my Udyr Guide. This is the way i think Udyr will be competitive in Ranked games since he's the best jungler IMO. I've tested several builds and this is the one that pleasures me the most. I hope you guys enjoy it
Runes
9x Greater Mark of Alacrity
9x Greater Seal of Vitality
9x Greater Glyph of Shielding
3x Greater Quintessence of Desolation
Marks
Attack speed makes own jungle with Phoenix Stance and i dont need that much armor pen. Why marks and not Seals? Simple, those 48,6 HP at lvl 5 makes me go dragon sooner than expected and probably would save your live at early game ganks. I could use armor Seals but since i dont even have armor masteries, so why bother if my team needs gold ASAP?
Seals

Glyphs
Magic Resist makes Udyr live longer early game. Everyone knows that casters own at early game and most of champions, even AD have magic damage spells. The other option for glyphs are the mana regen runes but once u get Golem, u wont need them.
Quints
I need some armor penetration and i rather get 15% Attack Speed and 10 Armor penetration attack speed than lower AS.
Masteries
21/9/0 are the best masteries to him. I used to play 0/21/9 but since new masteries i simply changed it to aggro. I still have enough survival and with tones of DMG.
Items
Starting with scepter makes Turtle stance Overpowered after you get golem. Allows you to recover hp and dmg minions with Phoenix more often. You will kill lizard and still stay with like 3/5 or 4/5 hp left.
Until min 25 you can walk around map ganking/farming with just a Wriggles, Banshees and boots. Those items are enough to take 3 dragons by that time and shatter some lanes with Phoenix Stance. You Tiger Stance is not that important so Wits End becomes your 4th item followed by Atmas. After that you need to decide if Randuins is more important for your team or if Force of Nature will allow you to survive when needed. If your tank or support is getting the regular support items and if they dont have any major AD threat, go for Force of Nature. IF you have no tank then think of a Guardian Angel so you can innitiate. NOTE: You can and should always innitiate teamfights by using Bear, Phoenis and Turtle Stances. If you have both buffs you will be a pain and even if you die, (hard but possible) your team will end them after you aim the most dangerous champions.
If you get a very bad team, these words become useless due to the lack of tactic of some players.
Skill Sequence
Why boosting Phoenix?
Phoenix + AOE mastery + Lizard = Jungle Control / Successful Gank
You can easy control both jungles and outfarm their jungler. If they have a slow jungler like WW or Tryndamere, you will be able to deny ganks on our team.
Ganking with phoenix + bear + turtle its ownage. (ppl still think tiger is better but you only need if that much. Phoenix and turtle will take care of jungle and champions.)
Summoner Spells
Not much to say on this chapter.
Smite = Needed if you want to take drag at lvl 5. Otherwise you can take exhaust or ignite but you wont take drag at lvl 5
Ghost = Ganking/Surviving. Flash is not a good spell for Udyr IMO
Pros / Cons
Pros:
- Best jungler
- Great ganker
- Great innitiator
- Jungle Control
- Great damage
- Great escaper
- Not very hard to play
Cons:
- Sometimes your CD makes you die before u can use Turtle stance again
- Too much magic dmg early game, specially if u get ignited
Jungling
Jungling order
1- Wolves
2- Golem
3- Wraiths
4- Lizard (gank after you get it)
5- Golems
6- Wraiths (recall and buy wriggles lantern so you can drag)
By this time, even if you didnt get first blood u should be at lvl 5. Get Wriggles and a pink ward if possible and rush drag only with both items. You should be able to kill it without any help after you stay only with about 50hp. Dragons passive should kill you if your wriggles doesnt work that often but dont bother, dragon is yours after you smite it.
Note: Only use Phoenix and Turtle Stances so you can get some lifesteal, shield and aoe. Tiger its useless at this time.
Team Work
Dumb teams ruin the games. When you start a teamfight make sure to jump on the threat champion, specially those nasty nukers. If you have a team that can hit everyone but the tanks, you'll win even if you sacrifice for them. If not, surrender at 20 because later on will be harded and you are simply wasting time.
At start, ask someone to cover your lizard and hit those wolves and NOT leash them, so your phoenix stance can work. Even with 4/5 hp you can take golem with a leash and still get 3/5 hp left.
You wont need any help at dragon unless bot lane dies and your team can help without them knowing it. You cant let them know when u get dragon so you can control it untill the end of game with pink wards. Tell your support to ward the bush near their wariths and their lizards. Then you can baron safely after you or someone else buys an oracle.
Make sure your Ad carry stays behind all the time and make sure he wont get targeted before teamfight starts.
